Huh? There's a magic school here.

Chapter 337 Struggle for Interests

When the priestess arrived at the royal palace in the orc capital with the vixen, the palace was already filled with officials and generals of all ranks. No one knew why the Great King would summon his subjects in such a large gathering, and the Great King himself seemed to be dozing on his throne, as if waiting for someone.

So most people chatted with their colleagues, while a few closed their eyes and pretended to sleep. But everyone knew that their pretense of sleep was just an act; they were actually eavesdropping. Just as everyone was waiting there, a soldier ran in and loudly reported.

"Great King, the High Priest requests an audience."

Kurt Elliott opened his eyes instantly.

"Quickly, let the priest in."

The officials chatting in the palace knew the main character had arrived as soon as they saw Kurt Elliott move! Some of the more astute officials even guessed that their summons today might be related to the invasion from another world, since it was the great king who had sent the priests to handle that matter not long ago.

Sure enough, the priest soon led in a slender person wearing a mask. The priest's first words confirmed some people's suspicions.

"Great King, the Dark Blade scouts who went to the other world have returned. They brought back a lot of information, and also several prisoners."

Kurt Elliott, intrigued by this, immediately stood up and addressed everyone.

“Excellent! Then, High Priest, please share the information you have obtained with everyone present! I believe everyone here is as curious about this unknown world as I am!”

"Yes, Your Majesty is right! We can't wait to see how much wealth and slaves this unknown world will bring us!"

A burst of laughter instantly echoed throughout the palace.

The priest gestured to the white-robed priest behind him, who then took out several image-recording orbs.

"Great King, please allow me to first present the summary of the Dark Blade Squad that returned from the other world. Then I will show you the records they brought back."

Kurt Elliott nodded in agreement, and the priest didn't linger, immediately presenting the Wind Group members' report from the temple to everyone.

The image sphere is essentially a magical version of 3D projection technology from another world. However, it has one advantage: as long as the image sphere is not destroyed, the information inside can be permanently preserved.

The priest channeled magic into the image-recording orb, which then emitted a brilliant white light. Immediately afterward, a group of people appeared out of thin air within the palace; these were the Wind Clan members.

Then the entire palace became unusually quiet, mainly because everyone was paying close attention to the information from the other world. They didn't want to miss a single word of the intelligence that Dark Blade had gathered, and everyone held their breath and listened intently.

Various sounds occasionally emanated from the photo sphere.

"My lord, we have discovered that the enemies in this other world are all humans, and they possess a highly advanced magical civilization and alchemical technology! The place where we appeared is an extremely wealthy place; they even use crystals and alchemical magic to build their dwellings!"

"My lord, I can testify to this! They did indeed use a type of crystal we've never seen before to build their houses, and there were many different styles of crystal, but the most common was a transparent one. Moreover, their houses were all very tall and large; I don't know what methods they used."

The people in the palace hall listened again to the intelligence report that the Wind Group had given in the temple. After a while, the information in the image sphere was finally displayed. The nobles and dignitaries in the palace then engaged in another heated discussion, all of them appearing very excited.

"That's wonderful! That world actually has a huge amount of crystals! They're even so extravagant that they use crystals to build houses!"

"That's right, it's humans who possess so much wealth! The human race is too fragile! We can easily defeat them, enslave them, and make them hand over all the crystal mines!"

"Let me state this first: our Leon family wants 20% of the world's crystal production! The rest you can divide among yourselves!"

"Pah! Leon, you've gotten more and more arrogant over the years! Asking for 20% without even realizing it might kill you! Our Coron family isn't as greedy as you. We only need 10% to live a life of luxury!"

"Hey, you two just chatted and then split 30%? What are we left to do, starve?!"

"Exactly! This is outrageous!"

Seeing that the two men were under attack, the heads of the Leon and Coron families exchanged glances and began to band together for a counterattack. Kurt Elliott, sitting on his throne, was also extremely troubled; he knew his subordinates very well.

These people would never hesitate to fight if necessary, but they would also be absolutely unyielding when it came to benefits and profits. However, Kurt Elliott understood that this was the nature of orcs; only by making their race strong enough could they avoid being bullied and sacrificed by the Empire. And what made a race strong? Sufficient benefits, of course!

There are indeed people in the palace who can remain calm in the face of enormous profits, but such people are few and far between. These few individuals are not saints indifferent to profit; rather, they simply see no need for them to compete. Because they are royalty, members of Kurt Elliott's clan, they believe that the great king will surely leave the largest slice of the pie for his own people.

The Minotaur chieftain had initially been vying for resources with these people, but he discovered that almost everyone wanted to secure a larger share for their own race. However, they lacked unity when facing powerful families like Leon and Coron. As he frowned, searching for a solution, he saw Kurt Elliott sitting on the throne.

The Minotaur chieftain's eyes lit up, and a new idea immediately formed in his mind. So, while others were arguing heatedly, he knelt down on one knee before Kurt Elliott's throne.

"My great king, the Tauren race is willing to be your vanguard! Please allow me to lead the Tauren warriors to clear the way for the army. Wherever your sword points, that will be the place where our race will fight to the death!"

The Minotaur chieftain's antics stunned the other officials and generals in the palace. They inwardly cursed, "Damn you, you wicked bull! While we were fighting over this, you were currying favor with the king! This old bull always seemed so honest; it was all an act! How come I never thought of that!"

So all the ministers in the palace, except for a few who had come out, knelt down and shouted.

"I am willing to die for Your Majesty! I beg Your Majesty to grant my request!"

Kurt Elliott, seated on his throne, hadn't expected the minotaur chieftain to make such a move; he'd thought his subordinates would be vying for power for some time. However, seeing someone step forward to pledge their loyalty, Kurt Elliott was still quite pleased.

"Very good, I know the Tauren are loyal! I've decided to make the Tauren the vanguard, and they only need to hand over 30% of their spoils, keeping the rest for themselves!"
