Huh? There's a magic school here.

Chapter 136 Marion's Acceptance Letter

The weather in Bibury Village was nice at nine o'clock that morning; the sky was blue and the clouds were high due to the latitude.

Marion didn't wolf down his breakfast as usual; instead, he picked up a fork and idly stabbed at the bacon without putting it in his mouth.

Mrs. Allen, who was standing nearby, understood what was going on. It was because her son hadn't received his Hogwarts acceptance letter yet, and he had no appetite.

Just as Mrs. Allen was about to try and comfort her son, an owl flapped its wings and flew in through the window. The owl landed directly on the dining table and stared at Marion with wide eyes. Marion was startled by the intruder and didn't react immediately. Then, the owl seemed a little impatient and raised its leg towards Marion, gesturing for him to quickly take the letter away.

Marion knew what the letter was as soon as he saw it, and immediately took it off the owl's leg. He had intended to pour the owl some water as a gesture of hospitality, but the owl snatched the bread from Marion's plate and flew away without stopping to rest.

The owl that had just flown away was indeed very busy today. All its companions had been sent out to deliver mail, but there were still quite a few letters left to deliver from Hogwarts! It needed to hurry up and deliver the mail to prove that it hadn't been eating the food Hogwarts fed it for nothing! It was a qualified postman!

Marion ignored the fact that the owl had taken his breakfast when it flew away, and instead quickly picked up the letter he had just received. The thick manila envelope had the following written on the front:

“Bybury, River Cohen, Cotswolds, Greater Gloucestershire, Marion Allen (recipient)”

The back of the envelope features a Hogwarts crest and a wax seal.

Marion carefully examined the school emblem, which, in addition to the four animals representing the colleges, also bore the inscription "Sleeping Dragon, Do Not Disturb."

Marion carefully opened the letter; he planned to keep the acceptance letter as a keepsake.

He took out the acceptance letter he had been longing for, and saw that it read...

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Principal: Andreas Mori

(Founder of the new Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Earl of Skye, wizard)

Dear Marion Allen:

We are pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please report to Hogwarts on August 25th. Enclosed is a list of required books and supplies.

Vice Principal (Female)

Respectfully submitted by Minerva McGonagall.

Marion read the letter aloud to his mother, who then urged him to look at the list of contents, as she was very curious since she had never read Harry Potter.

So Marion took out a list and read it aloud, item by item.

First-year students need the following items:

1. Three sets of plain black work robes

2. A plain, pointed hat (black) for daytime wear.

3. A pair of protective gloves (made of leather or similar material)

4. A winter cloak (black, with silver buttons)

Please note: All student uniforms must have name tags attached.

All students are required to prepare the following books:

Standard Spells, Beginner's Guide by Miranda Gossack

Theory of Magic, by Adéber Wolfling

"A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration" by Emery Switch

"A Thousand Amazing Herbs and Mushrooms" by Phil Daspoor

Magic Potions and Elixirs by Arsen Nigig

Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Defense · by Quentin Limbou

Other equipment: a wand, a large cauldron (tin, standard size 2), a set of glass or crystal vials, a brass balance, and students may bring an owl, a cat, or a toad.

Parents are especially reminded that first-grade students are not allowed to bring their own flying brooms (referring to the brooms ridden by wizards).

Mrs. Allen started nagging after hearing that.

"Good heavens, the robe is fine. But where can I buy gloves, especially dragon skin ones? They must be so expensive! As for the cauldron, we already have one at home, so we don't need to buy one! And why would anyone keep a toad as a pet? How much would all that stuff cost?!"

"Alright, alright, honey, money is meant to be spent, otherwise what's the point of making it?"

"Son, is there anything else besides these? Didn't that little witch say she'd let us know how to get to Hogwarts later?"

“Oh, I almost missed it if you hadn’t mentioned it. There was also a Hogwarts Express ticket in the envelope, with King’s Cross Station, Platform 9¾, written on it. It also said the departure time was 2 p.m. on August 25th. There was also a note attached.”

"So what did it say on the note?"

"Let me see... Hmm... It says the ticket is only valid for the start of the school term. If you need to go to Hogsmeade Village to buy items, please take the Hogwarts Express at 9:00 AM on any day between August 15th and August 22nd. Students and parents do not need tickets, just show your acceptance letter. The Hogwarts Express will depart from King's Cross Station at 9:00 AM every day to Hogsmeade Village and return from Hogsmeade Village to King's Cross Station at 6:00 PM."

"Wow, Dad, in two more days we can go to Hogsmeade to buy supplies!"

"August 15th is a Wednesday, and we're quite a distance from London. It's about 150 kilometers and takes about an hour and a half or two hours. Looks like we'll have to get up early the day after tomorrow! So we need to get up at 5 a.m. to wash up and eat, and leave promptly at 6 a.m.!"

"Honey, isn't that too early?"

"No, because you didn't consider the damn traffic jams in the capital!"

"Okay, you're right. I'll go prepare some money now, bring more than I need, just in case it's not enough."

"I should go to the company, or I'll be late."

August 15th, cloudy. 5:00 AM.

"Marion, get up! Don't you even want to stay in Hogsmeade Village?!"

"Mom, let me sleep a little longer, just ten more minutes! I was so excited last night that I couldn't sleep a wink."

"Okay, ten minutes it is! I'll come and call you in ten minutes!"

Downstairs in the dining room, Mrs. Allen continued preparing breakfast; she always took care of all the meals at home. A little while later, Mr. Allen came downstairs and sat down at the table.

"What, Marion still isn't up?"

"Yes, he was too excited last night!"

"I'll go get him now!"

So, on this peaceful morning, the Allen family set off for King's Cross Station in the capital. The morning breeze through the countryside was quite pleasant, but things changed when the car entered London. Mr. Allen kept cursing London's traffic, complaining that British officials did nothing but argue in Parliament all day.

It took them more than an hour from entering London to finding a place to park their car. They arrived at King's Cross Station at 8:30 in the morning, and the family of three hurried to the platform.

Just as the Allen family was searching for Platform Nine and Three-Quarters between Platform Nine and Platform Ten, a familiar voice called out to them!

"Marion Allen! Over here!"
