On their first day in Shanghai, which was originally intended as a rest day, Andres led the group on another day of sightseeing and eating.

Because he lived near the Bund, the first places Andres thought of were Yu Garden and the City God Temple.

During their visit to Yu Garden, several genuine foreigners kept exclaiming in amazement, especially Catherine.

"Principal Andres, you're saying this estate is privately owned?"

"Well, not entirely! It was privately owned when it was first established, but after hundreds of years of changes, it now belongs to the state. And the Dragon Kingdom has decided to open it to the public so that everyone can come and visit."

"It's unbelievable, this is more beautiful than most mansions in Britain. And they are mostly privately owned, outsiders can't get in at all. I've been invited several times, but their estates are nothing compared to this."

Andres thought to himself, "You've only been rich for a few years, what do you know about luxury?" So he started explaining to everyone again.

"This manor is about 440 years old, and we were quite backward back then. Most of what we call manors were small fortresses built around castles, which were not aesthetically pleasing. The reason is that the main function of our manors was to defend and protect our property, while others did not have security issues, so their main function was to enjoy life."

Professor Sprout interjected.

"It's definitely luxurious, I don't know if you've noticed. The vegetation here is very dense, and it's not just random, overgrown plants. I just observed it, and I saw more than twenty kinds of trees, with hundreds of them, and many of them are hundreds of years old. Principal Andres, may we buy some to take home?"

Andres was a bit overwhelmed when he heard this.

“I’m afraid that won’t work, Professor Sprout. Putting aside whether these trees can even survive in Scotland, I don’t think the Chinese government would sell them given their rarity and value. They are an important part of this garden!”

“That’s a real shame. I’ve seen that kind of ginkgo wood in Garrick Ollivander’s shop. Garrick said it’s excellent wand material.”

"How about this, Professor Sprout? When we go back, we'll buy some saplings for you from China. Don't even think about the trees here; they've been living in Yu Garden for hundreds of years and probably don't want to move!"

"Alright, Principal Andres. Thank you in advance!"

After strolling around Yu Garden until noon, Andres found a restaurant that claimed to be hundreds of years old, dating back to the Qing Dynasty. They ordered several bowls of crab roe noodles and some soup, and the foreigners practically licked their plates clean. Andres, however, found it a bit too rich, but that didn't matter as long as the foreigners enjoyed it.

In the afternoon, they went to the Shanghai First Food Store. It took Catherine, Professor Hodge, and Professor Sprout over two hours to emerge from the large store. Andreas and Lupin, on the other hand, were carrying large bags of various pastries and sweets.

Finally, Andres couldn't carry any more, so he and Lupin found a gap in the road and Lupin covered for him while Andres secretly threw all the bags into his spatial bag. Only then did the two men breathe a sigh of relief.

On the way back, Catherine kept rubbing her stomach and talking as she did so.

"Waaah, I really can't eat anymore, but there are still so many kinds of pastries I haven't tried yet."

Finally, when it was time for dinner, Catherine didn't eat because she had eaten too much during the day and had no energy left for the night.

Around 11 or 12 at night, Catherine was so hungry that she tossed and turned and couldn't sleep. So she secretly got dressed and went to find some delicious barbecue. In England, she would never dare to go out alone at this time, but it was still quite safe in China.

Catherine, using her newly learned, broken Chinese, successfully completed her adventure of going out to buy barbecue, and happily ate her skewers on her way back. But, unsurprisingly, an unexpected event occurred: a little girl, her face streaked with tears and her clothes disheveled, rushed out of the hotel entrance. Two men, furious, ran out and blocked her way.

As Catherine ate, she observed the situation. She had only been passing by out of curiosity, but the more she looked, the more suspicious she became. Although she couldn't understand what the two men were saying, she could clearly see that they were dragging the young girl back to the hotel, obviously intending to do something she didn't want to do. Remembering how her boss had harassed her before, Catherine rushed forward.

Catherine shielded the little girl behind her and then shouted at the two men.

"What are you going to do!"

The two men opposite them were clearly taken aback by someone interfering, especially a foreign woman. Although they understood what she was saying, they couldn't answer! So they exchanged a glance, ignored Catherine, and reached out to grab the little girl.

Catherine reacted quickly, grabbing the bamboo skewers she had just used for barbecue and stabbing them at the two men, causing their hands and arms to bleed. For a moment, the two men hesitated to approach. Just then, a young man dressed in flamboyant attire emerged from the hotel.

"You two are useless, you can't even handle a woman! You filthy bitch, you better come back to the hotel with me today or else..."

"Young Master Li, please let me go. I will pay back my father's gambling debts, please let me go."

"Pay it back? How are you going to pay it back? That's a million. Don't even mention a high school girl like you. Even if you graduate and start working, do you think you can save up that much money in ten or twenty years?"

"I will work, I will go out and earn money. Please believe me, I will definitely pay you back, really! I swear to God!"

"Don't be so shameless! While you're still young and have some value, hurry up and make me feel good, and I might make you pay back less!"

This young master Li ignored Catherine's attempt to grab the little girl, but Catherine didn't care and fiercely protected the little girl, shielding her in front of her.

Young Master Li originally didn't want to provoke foreigners, since dealing with foreigners in China was always troublesome, so he only wanted to bring the little girl back. However, Catherine was very protective of her, so he had no choice but to call on two of his wounded subordinates to try and subdue her together.

Just as Catherine was waving the bamboo skewer to scare the other man, the sound of police sirens grew louder in the distance. It turned out that the hotel receptionist had secretly called the police. Hearing the sirens, Catherine knew the police had arrived and breathed a sigh of relief, while the young man, Li, curled his lip and cursed.

"Damn it! Yang Linlin, the police are coming soon. You'd better think this through! Your dad wrote an IOU, not some gambling debt. The police won't get involved in economic disputes, and don't forget what we do! Not to mention we have connections with the police, and most importantly, you have a younger sister, right? If she gets kidnapped by bad guys one day, her life will be ruined!"

The little girl, who was still crying, trembled upon hearing this and looked at Young Master Li with a terrified expression.

"You beasts! My sister is only in junior high school, she's so young!"

"That depends on how you, as the older sister, behave later!"
