Yan Shu was still processing the elder's meaningful words, but she didn't think much of it and handed the two children over to their father.

Ah Ling and Ah Chen carefully took the child, their expressions stiff beyond belief.

A-Ling's usually calm face now showed a subtle hint of complexity.

He looked at the little dragon curled up softly in his arms, its silvery-white scales gleaming with a gentle light, even its tiny horns were so exquisite.

That calm exterior seemed to crack open, and when her gaze fell on the child, a belated surge of emotion welled up within her.

Ah Chen's reaction was even more obvious.

He held the little mermaid, his whole body stiff as a statue.

He looked down at the little life in his arms, its silvery-white fish tail swaying gently, its wet face showing the softness and innocence unique to a child.

"This is my child." Ah Chen's mind went blank, except for this sentence echoing repeatedly.

He tried his best his whole life, never daring to hope that any female would be willing to take him as a partner, let alone bear his children.

But now, with such a small life in his arms, it felt as if the whole world had collapsed into his chest.

His gaze was fixed on the little guy, his excitement and disbelief crashing over his reason like waves.

His chest heaved violently, as if the emotion was about to burst forth from his body, but he suppressed it tightly, daring not to reveal it.

Ah Chen gently raised her hand, wanting to better support the child, but found that her fingers were trembling.

He stopped immediately, afraid that any movement might hurt the tiny life.

This is his bloodline, this is his child.

His eyes welled up slightly, and he couldn't help but softly call out, "Child..."

His voice was choked with sobs that he himself was unaware of.

Ah Xu and Ah Hou simply stood to the side watching, showing no intention of approaching.

Their eyes held a hint of concern, but they made no attempt to touch the child.

Yan Shu originally wanted Ah Xu and Ah Hou to hug her, but they refused.

"She's not of our bloodline, and she's female; we can't touch her."

Yan Shu thought about it and didn't force her.

With someone holding the baby, she also has some time to calm herself down.

She tried to get out of bed, but Ah-Xu stopped her.

"I'll carry you."

Yan Shuzhen is fine; her body has fully recovered.

Moreover, his physical condition is much better than before.

But I guess I didn't refuse.

She felt that refusing was pointless.

Of course, once inside the bathroom, Yan Shu refused their offer to help her take a bath.

Who knows what they might do?

Just as Yan Shu finished her shower and felt warm all over, a commotion suddenly broke out outside the door.

She looked up at the doorway, her voice filled with confusion: "What's going on outside? Why is it so noisy?"

Yan Shu changed into clean clothes and opened the door.

A group of males were seen crowding outside the yard, their eyes fixed intently on the inside, clearly impatient from waiting.

"Ah Xu, it's good that you're out!" A male said eagerly, his voice full of excitement. "We heard that Lady Yan Shu gave birth to two female children, so we came to see her."

"Yes, we heard that her delivery went smoothly and she is in good health. We also wanted to express our concern."

The other person echoed, but kept peering into the room, trying to see what was going on inside.

Ah Xu's face was cold, her tail swaying slowly behind her, her tone revealing suppressed anger: "You don't need to worry about the lady's condition. She just gave birth and needs to rest, so please don't disturb her."

“How can you call it a disturbance?” someone in the crowd spoke up, their voice tinged with dissatisfaction. “She’s not just your female! We have the right to care about her; it’s a matter of tribal honor!”

“Yes!” another immediately chimed in, his tone laced with provocation. “Don’t be so sure of yourself. The fact that she gave birth to two females means she’s an excellent one, and we males are qualified to pursue her!”

Ah Xu's face immediately darkened, and his fox tail swept across the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

He sneered, his voice filled with suppressed anger: "Pursue her? You think you're worthy?"

The males outside immediately erupted in protest, with one angrily retorting, "She's not yours to keep! According to tribal rules, any male has the right to express his affections, as long as she's willing to accept!"

“That’s right!” another chimed in. “Don’t talk like she can only be your female. We can take you on one-on-one.”

Yan Shu was completely stunned. Then, she recalled the elder's words from before and felt a chill run down her spine.

So that's what the elder meant when he said "protect yourself"!

When they saw that Ah Xu was going out to fight them one-on-one, it was obvious that the group was going to gang up on him.

She then hurriedly came out.

"Ah-Xu, come here."

The moment she stepped out the door, the noise stopped abruptly.

The men, who had been shouting and arguing, seemed to be paused suddenly, and their eyes all turned to her.

After a moment of silence, Yan Shu noticed that all the male gazes were fixed on her, so intense that they made her feel numb all over.

Her heart skipped a beat at the stares, and she took a deep breath, trying to make her tone sound as calm as possible: "I'm not planning on finding any males, you can all go back."

She thought that her refusal would calm these people down, but to her surprise, their reaction was completely the opposite.

“Sir, you are so handsome!” a young male whispered, his eyes fixed on her with intense passion.

"Females always speak in such a soft, gentle voice that it melts your heart!" someone couldn't help but exclaim.

Yan Shu almost laughed out of anger at their reaction.

What is the logic?

She had already clearly refused, yet these people actually heard a hint of encouragement in her voice?

"I told you, I don't plan to date a male!" she raised her voice again, trying to make her stance even more firm. "You all go back now!"

But the males became even more excited, their faces beaming with excitement, as if her words had boosted their morale.

"Sir, please don't be so quick to refuse us. We just want to express our feelings!"

"Yes! Even if you're not in the mood right now, that's okay, we can wait!"

"Yes, it would be worth waiting a lifetime for you!"

Yan Shu stared at the group of people in disbelief, realizing that no matter what she said, it would be useless.

This isn't communication; it's like casting pearls before swine!

She felt like a piece of Tang Monk's flesh, while the people in front of her all regarded her as a delicious delicacy.

She took a deep breath, turned and gave them a cold look, her tone becoming even more resolute: "I'll say it one last time, I don't need any males, I don't need any concern! If you keep arguing, don't blame me for getting the elders to handle this!"

These words were like a bucket of cold water poured on them, finally silencing the group of males for a moment.

The elders' authority was unshakeable in the tribe, and no matter how unwilling they were, they had no choice but to give up.

"Alright, sir, we'll do as you say."

Some people nodded reluctantly, but the resentment in their eyes was still frustrating.

Watching them gradually leave, Yan Shu finally breathed a sigh of relief and turned to go inside.
