A short while later, Xi'er arrived outside the military doctor's barracks carrying a large bowl of steaming wontons.

Outside the barracks, Xi'er gently knocked on the door. "Medic, my young lady asked me to bring you some wontons. Are you there?"

A moment later, the army doctor's strong voice came from inside, "Oh, it's Miss Xi'er. The door isn't locked, come in!"

After hearing this, Xi'er slowly pushed open the door of the barracks and carefully walked in.

Seeing this, the army doctor looked at Xi'er and burst into laughter, then asked in a low voice, "Miss Xi'er, am I that scary?"

After hearing this, Xi'er looked at the military doctor, shook her head slightly nervously, and her voice became a little incoherent, "Military doctor, no...no, you're really not scary!"

After hearing this, the military doctor looked at Xi'er and asked in a gentle tone, "Miss Xi'er, didn't you bring me wontons?"

After hearing this, the military doctor gently put down the spoon he was using to scoop wontons and the chopsticks he was using to pick up kimchi, looked at Xi'er, and smiled, a smile tinged with amusement.

"Of course these wontons are delicious! Especially since such a beautiful and kind girl like you, Xi'er, personally delivered them, how could they not be delicious?"

Upon hearing this, Xi'er glanced at the military doctor, then quickly lowered her head shyly. Her little face instantly turned as red as an apple, making her incredibly adorable!

Seeing this, the military doctor continued to tease her, "Miss Xi'er, did I say something wrong?"

After hearing this, Xi'er composed herself, looked up at the army doctor, shook her head slightly, and said nothing. Then, Xi'er ran away without looking back.

Seeing this, the army doctor smiled as he watched Xi'er flee in disarray, and couldn't help but think to himself, "She really is a very lovely girl!"

The medic stared blankly at the doorway, not even noticing a soldier approaching. "Medic, what are you looking at?"

The soldier's sudden words pulled him back to reality. He quickly composed himself and asked in a low voice, "It's nothing. Did you need something?"

After hearing this, the soldier glanced at the medic without showing any emotion and said in a low voice, "Medic, the general sent me to discuss the next steps and the prevention and control of the epidemic with you."

After listening, the military doctor looked at the soldiers and nodded slightly. Then, he continued to slowly eat the remaining wontons in his bowl.

Upon seeing this, the soldier unconsciously swallowed hard. When he arrived, he noticed that Xi'er had brought over the wontons, but he had been hiding in the shadows, too embarrassed to disturb the two of them.

When Xi'er came out, she ran away.

"Did something happen between the army doctor and Miss Xi'er? I'll have to find a chance to ask Miss Xi'er later," the soldier thought to himself.

Meanwhile, Xi'er quietly pondered the general's words in her room. She fell into deep thought, a feeling she had never experienced before, and she truly didn't know what was wrong with her.

After a while, Su Yun Chu returned to the room. She looked at Xi'er and asked with a slight smile, "Xi'er, what's wrong with you?"

"He's been acting strangely since he came back from the medic's. Did something happen?"

Upon hearing this, Xi'er quickly composed herself, turned around, looked at Su Yun Chu, and shook her head slightly, "Miss, it's really nothing!"

After hearing this, Su Yun Chu didn't press Xi Er for details, so she simply glanced at Xi Er and nodded without saying a word.

Su Yun Chu sat down opposite Xi Er. She poured herself a cup of tea, took a small sip with graceful movements, and slowly put the teacup down.

Then, she chatted happily with Xi'er, and as they talked, they started talking about some embarrassing things that happened when they were young, as if they had returned to their childhood.

Just then, the military doctor arrived outside Su Yun Chu's room and gently knocked on the doorknob. "Dr. Su, Miss Xi'er, are you there?"

Upon hearing this, Xi'er quickly walked to the door, slowly opened it, looked up at the military doctor, and lowered her head slightly embarrassed the moment their eyes met.

A moment later, the military doctor came to Su Yun Chu and said in a low voice, "Dr. Su, I've come to invite you and Miss Xi'er to have dinner together."

"It's also to thank you for treating me to wontons; they were truly the most delicious wontons I've ever eaten." As the military doctor said this, he unconsciously looked in Xi'er's direction.

Su Yun Chu followed the army doctor's gaze and saw that Xi'er had lowered her head shyly, looking quiet and gentle, unlike her usual lively self.

Su Yun Chu knew that Xi Er must be hiding something from her and was too embarrassed to tell her.
