Chen Yun felt a jolt as a strange energy wave swept over him, making the hairs on his body stand on end.

As soon as that energy wave arrived, Chen Yun felt his body being pulled along by some unseen force.

He instinctively dodged to the side. Huh? Why are you so much more agile than usual?

What's even stranger is that the surrounding machines seem to recognize him; wherever he goes, those intricate patterns flash, as if they're greeting him.

"Huh?" Chen Yun looked at the machine and touched it with his palm to test it.

The machine vibrated and its surface flashed blue light, as if it had come to life.

"Quick! Stop him!" the soldier yelled in terror.

Chen Yun sensed the panic in the group and chuckled. He drew his pistol and fired!

The bullet struck the soldier's rifle squarely at its weakest point, sparks flew, and the rifle was rendered unusable.

"Holy crap! How does this guy know where to attack?" The soldiers were thrown into disarray.

The metal plate beneath his feet suddenly vibrated. Chen Yun looked down and saw cracks spreading out like a spiderweb, all caused by the energy from earlier. His eyes lit up, and he swung the butt of his rifle, slamming it down on the area with the densest cracks.

Click!

The metal plate shattered, revealing a dark, gaping shaft.

Without a word, Chen Yun jumped down and slid down the wall. The passage wasn't deep, but it was enough to hide from pursuers.

An urgent voice came through the headset: "He's gone into the maintenance tunnel! Immediately seal off the main control console in area B-7!"

"Main control console?" Chen Yun groped his way forward in the dark, relying on the flashing symbols on the wall for guidance.

These symbols are exactly the same as those on the machine's surface; they glow blue when he gets close. Stop running, go find the control area.

Around the corner, Chen Yun found a loose panel. Prying it open, he found a blue chip hidden inside.

As soon as he took the chip out, the entire channel began to vibrate violently and make a continuous rumbling sound.

"Warning! Core component malfunction!" The robot's voice echoed through the corridor.

Chen Yun gripped the chip tightly, his heart pounding.

They might have stirred up a hornet's nest, but the die was cast. In the distance, the sound of orderly footsteps indicated the pursuers had found another route.

Suddenly, there was a creaking sound overhead, followed by a loud bang, and some machine started up.

Chen Yun glanced up and saw the drone's infrared beams slashing through the darkness like a blood-red scythe.

He stood against the wall, his muscles taut, ready to strike at any moment.

The blue symbols in the passage suddenly lit up, as if they had been electrified.

Chen Yun examined them closely; the symbols were arranged in a regular pattern, pointing towards the depths of the passage. His intuition told him that an opportunity had arrived.

"Target in area C, initiate electromagnetic interference!" A shout suddenly erupted from behind.

Chen Yun gritted his teeth and dashed toward the brightest symbol.

The sound of hurried footsteps came from behind, and the pursuers split into two groups to encircle them.

Hmph, he seems to have a knack for these blue symbols right now. He moves with lightning speed, landing precisely on each symbol node with every step, slipping away at breakneck speed.

"Beep—" The drone alarm above my head blared.

Chen Yun narrowed his eyes and spotted a large pipe on the wall in front of him—the main power supply pipe.

In a flash of inspiration, an escape route came to mind!

"Bang!" The high-energy ray struck the spot where he had just been standing, creating a black crater.

Chen Yun grabbed the pipe and leaped into the air, slicing through the air in a flash.

He landed, rolled, and casually fired a shot.

The bullet struck the drone squarely in the eye, sending sparks flying. The "hunter" hissed and swayed precariously, emitting static.

"My God! How can he shoot so accurately in the dark?" the pursuers exclaimed in surprise.

Chen Yuncai ignored him. The symbols in front of him were dazzlingly bright, outlining a door frame shape. The wall was covered with a strange layer of metallic glass, which shimmered under the blue light.

"Seal the door! Don't let him in!" came the shout over the walkie-talkie.

Chen Yun's lips curled into a smile. Heh, the gamble paid off; there's bound to be some juicy gossip behind that door.

He dashed toward the entrance like an arrow, with the constant roar of bombs and gunfire behind him, and bullets whistling past his clothes.

He moved through the passageway using the blue light, his shadow impossible to catch.

"Load high-energy weapons! Bomb him to death!" came a furious roar from behind.

Upon hearing the buzzing charging sound, Chen Yun broke out in a cold sweat.

He knows this stuff too well; steel and concrete melt instantly. One touch, and not a trace remains.

At the critical moment, he pushed open the strange door.

He was sucked in with a whoosh, and a high-energy particle beam grazed his back and slammed into the door frame, sending sparks flying everywhere.

The world spun before his eyes, as if he had fallen into an endless vortex.

The chip in my hand suddenly vibrated violently, emitting a blinding blue light.

When everything calmed down, Chen Yun found himself in a circular, hidden hall.

A row of old computer motherboards hung on the wall, and monitors flashing strange characters were arranged in a circle, making the whole space flicker with light and shadow.

In the center of the hall, a thick pillar was emitting bursts of eerie blue pulses, creating a strange resonance with the chip in his hand.

“This is…” Chen Yun murmured to himself, a hint of shock flashing in his eyes.

He had never seen these devices before, but he vaguely saw some familiar shapes in the pulsating data streams.

Suddenly, the chip in my hand got hot, and a beam of blue light shot out from the chip, illuminating the pulse in the central pillar.

The entire space began to shake violently, and the text on the monitor jumped wildly, combining into some kind of program code that Chen Yun had never seen before.

"Core component regression detected, system self-test initiation." A soft female voice echoed in the space.

Chen Yun's pupils contracted sharply as he saw the surface of the central pillar begin to peel away layer by layer, revealing the intricate circuit structure inside.

What shocked him even more was that the arrangement of those circuits perfectly matched the pattern on the chip in his hand.

"This is impossible..." Chen Yun's voice trembled slightly.

"These technologies are at least fifty years ahead of current levels, how could this be..."

Before the words were finished, a crack suddenly appeared in the floor of the hall, and a holographic projection slowly rose up.

The projection showed an old and dignified face, staring at Chen Yun with a complex gaze.

“Welcome back, program successor,” the face said.

"It seems you've finally found this place."

As the holographic projection came into view, Chen Yun stared at that face, feeling an overwhelming pressure.

"The chip is the key; whether the entire system can restart depends on it. Chen Yun, you are the chosen one," the aged face spoke.

With a whoosh, robotic arms extended from all directions, beginning to repair the central pillar and also scanning Chen Yun.

"Ugh..." A flood of information suddenly rushed into Chen Yun's mind, and he almost lost his balance. "What kind of system is this? Why was I chosen?"

"Stop dawdling and activate the permissions quickly! Insert the chip into the console, and I'll show you what to do next," the holographic face urged.
