Su Ling's Time Travel
Chapter 99 The Su Family Haunted
Su Ling looked up at Chen Xiang, her eyes flashing with complex emotions. She was silent for a moment, then slowly spoke: "What should we talk about? How did you betray me?"
Upon hearing this, Chen Xiang felt a surge of bitterness and helplessness. She knew that Su Ling's misunderstanding ran deep. So, she decided to be honest: "Su Ling, I know you have a misunderstanding about me. But that photo really was just a misunderstanding. There's nothing between Qi Xuan and me; we're just good friends."
Looking at Chen Xiang's sincere expression, Su Ling's doubts and anger seemed to lessen somewhat. But she still couldn't completely believe Chen Xiang's words: "Really? Then why did you ignore my feelings? Why did you talk about me behind my back?"
Chen Xiang sighed and explained, "Su Ling, we haven't ignored your feelings. It's just that we've been a bit distracted lately because of Cheng Chen. But we really haven't been talking about you behind your back, much less betraying you."
As Su Ling listened to Chen Xiang's explanation, her doubts and anger gradually dissipated. She began to realize that perhaps she had really misunderstood Chen Xiang and Qi Xuan. So, she slowly said, "I'm sorry, maybe I really misunderstood you. But, could you please show me more concern in the future? Don't make me feel ignored."
Upon hearing this, Chen Xiang felt a surge of joy and relief. She knew that this friendship had finally been salvaged. So, she held Su Ling's hand tightly: "Of course, Su Ling. We will definitely take better care of you from now on and won't let you feel neglected again."
At that moment, sunlight streamed through the classroom window, illuminating the two girls. They smiled at each other, as if all misunderstandings and conflicts had vanished in that instant. The atmosphere on campus also became relaxed and cheerful because of their reconciliation.
Night fell, and the moonlight, like water, silently bathed the Su family mansion. Under the moonlight, the ancient residence appeared even more mysterious and enigmatic. For several nights in a row, screams of agony had echoed from the Su family home, chilling everyone to the bone. The atmosphere within the house had become unusually tense, everyone shrouded in an invisible fear.
Su Ling, the youngest daughter of the Su family, had complex emotions flickering in her eyes. She knew all too well that this chaos was related to her plans to deal with Feng Ting and Su Jun. Feng Ting, the once gentle and kind sister-in-law, now seemed like a completely different person, often exhibiting strange behavior, such as lurking around with a knife in the dead of night, sending chills down one's spine.
"Su Ling, don't you feel something's been off at home lately?" Mrs. Xi asked in a low voice, her eyes filled with worry.
Su Ling nodded and replied softly, "Yes, Mom. I also feel like there's something unclean in the house."
The two women exchanged a glance, both sensing the fear in each other. They resolved to uncover the truth no matter what, and not let their family continue to be shrouded in terror.
That evening, Su Ling and Xi's mother sat before Su's mother's portrait, their hearts filled with endless longing. They tried to communicate with Su's mother's "ghost," hoping to receive some guidance.
"Mom, if you were here, please give us some hints," Su Ling pleaded softly, her voice trembling slightly.
Just then, a gust of cold wind blew by, causing the candlelight before the portrait to flicker. Mother Xi was startled; she seemed to have heard a sound.
“Ling’er, can you hear that? It sounds like someone is crying…” Mother Xi’s voice trembled as she tightly grasped Su Ling’s hand.
Su Ling also heard the cries, and she felt as if her heart was being torn apart. She knew it was her mother crying, that she was telling her something.
"Mom, what exactly are you trying to tell us?" Su Ling cried out, tears streaming down her face.
Just then, Su's mother in the portrait seemed to move slightly. Her gaze became deep and distant, as if transcending the boundary between life and death.
“Ling’er, you have to be careful of Su Jun and Feng Ting…they…” Su’s mother’s voice was low and weak, but every word clearly reached Su Ling and Xi’s mother’s ears.
Su Ling and Xi's mother exchanged glances, both feeling an unprecedented fear. They knew their mother was warning them to be careful of Su Jun and Feng Ting.
In the following days, the situation at the Su family worsened. Feng Ting's unusual behavior became more frequent, and Su Jun seemed to have descended into some kind of madness. It seemed that there was some unspeakable secret hidden between the two of them.
To uncover the truth, Su Ling decided to invite a Taoist priest. After touring the Su family home, the priest approached Su Ling and her mother with a furrowed brow.
"The spirit of the Su family is kind, but it seems to be bound by some force. As long as her wish is granted, this haunting incident can be quelled." The Taoist's voice was deep and powerful, and his words gave Su Ling and Mother Xi a glimmer of hope.
"What is Mom's wish?" Su Ling asked eagerly.
After a moment of contemplation, the Taoist priest slowly spoke: "She hopes that you can unite as one to protect the Su family. At the same time, she also hopes that Su Jun can make some changes."
