Su Ling's Time Travel

Chapter 9 Love and Separation

Just then, a familiar figure appeared in her sight. It was Yu Hao, a man she had crossed paths with before. His appearance stirred ripples in Su Ling's once calm heart.

"Su Ling, why are you still here?" Yu Hao's voice was cold and reproachful. "Do you know that everyone is looking for you? Why didn't you go home sooner?"

Su Ling's heart skipped a beat upon hearing this. She looked at Yu Hao, her eyes revealing a complex light. She knew that when Yu Hao said "go back," he meant return to that so-called "base." However, she didn't want to go back to that place full of constraints and rules. She preferred living freely and unrestrained in the wilderness.

“Yu Hao, why do you think I should go back?” Su Ling’s tone revealed a hint of dissatisfaction and rebuttal. “I’m living very well here. I don’t need to go back to that place full of rules and constraints.”

"You..." Yu Hao's face darkened upon hearing this. "Su Ling, how have you become so cold and willful? Do you know how worried everyone is about you? Do you know how many people have been looking for you since you lost contact?"

"Worried about me? Hmph!" Su Ling sneered. "Yu Hao, what makes you think I need your concern? I'm living perfectly well here, I don't need anyone's concern!"

"You..." Yu Hao was so angry at Su Ling's words that he couldn't speak. Looking at Su Ling's cold and determined eyes, an inexplicable anger surged in his heart. He felt that Su Ling had become even more indifferent and willful, completely disregarding the feelings of others.

Just then, a series of hurried footsteps broke the silence of the night. Xiao Yutong appeared in their sight. Her face looked tired and anxious, clearly having just gone through a fierce battle.

"Yu Hao, you found Su Ling?" Xiao Yutong's voice was filled with joy and concern. Looking at the standoff between Yu Hao and Su Ling, a sense of worry welled up inside her.

“Yes, I found it.” Yu Hao nodded, his tone revealing a hint of helplessness and exhaustion. “But she doesn’t want to go back.”

“Su Ling…” Xiao Yutong looked into Su Ling’s cold and resolute eyes, and a complex emotion welled up in her heart. She knew that Su Ling was a person with her own ideas and pursuits, and would not be easily swayed by the opinions of others. However, she also knew that Su Ling’s indifference and willfulness would make many people feel worried and dissatisfied.

“Xiao Yutong, you don’t need to persuade me.” Su Ling’s tone revealed a hint of determination and resolve. “I’m living very well here. I don’t need to go back to that place full of rules and constraints. I don’t need anyone’s concern or worry.”

As she spoke, Su Ling turned to leave. But just then, Xiao Yutong suddenly stepped forward and hugged Yu Hao tightly. A weary yet affectionate expression appeared on her face, as if she had found solace in that moment.

"Yu Hao... thank you for finding me... I'm so tired..." Xiao Yutong's voice was choked with sobs and exhaustion. Her hug warmed Yu Hao's heart and made him feel a pang of heartache. He knew that Xiao Yutong must have gone through a lot of hardship and suffering to find him.

This scene, however, felt like a sharp knife piercing Su Ling's heart. Watching Xiao Yutong and Yu Hao embrace tightly, an indescribable sadness and loss welled up within her. She knew she was a lonely being in this apocalypse, without family, friends, or a lover. She could only rely on her own abilities and wisdom to survive in this dangerous and unknown world.

“Yu Hao…you’ve changed…” Su Ling’s voice was tinged with bitterness and disappointment. “You once said you would always be by my side…but now you’ve chosen her…”

Yu Hao felt a pang of pain in his heart upon hearing this. Looking into Su Ling's sorrowful and lost eyes, a complex mix of emotions welled up within him. He knew he had made a promise to Su Ling, but he also knew that in this apocalyptic world, many things were beyond his control. He couldn't give Su Ling a clear answer, nor could he offer her a warm embrace. Because he knew his heart already belonged to Xiao Yutong.

“Su Ling…I’m sorry…” Yu Hao’s voice was tinged with helplessness and guilt. “I know I said those things to you before…but in this apocalypse, many things are unpredictable…I hope you can understand…”

The winds of the apocalypse, carrying a biting chill, raged across this desolate land. Su Ling, a woman whose soul was transported to this post-apocalyptic world after a car accident, has been struggling to survive on this land for over a month. She has not only adapted to the living environment but also awakened the ability to control small monsters in an accident, gradually gaining a foothold in this post-apocalyptic world.

That day, Su Ling and Yu Hao's team set off together, their goal being to explore this unknown region and search for potential survival resources. Among the team was Xu Qiang, a burly and forthright man who was always curious about Su Ling's abilities.

"Su Ling, where did you get that ability to control monsters?" Xu Qiang couldn't help but ask, his eyes revealing a hint of envy and curiosity.
