Su Ling's Time Travel

Chapter 89 Change of Throne

Ju Xin was devastated upon learning of Su Ling's passing. She had always been Su Ling's personal maid and close friend. She couldn't imagine how she would live without Su Ling. In her grief, she made a decision: she would go with Su Ling in death.

Tong Jincheng and Tong Jinyu were shocked when they learned of Juxin's decision. They knew that Juxin had always deeply loved her mother and had always been by her side. They couldn't imagine what it would feel like to lose Juxin.

"Juxin, you can't do this!" Tong Jincheng tried to dissuade her. "Our mother has already passed away; we can't lose you too!"

However, Juxin simply smiled and said, "The General is the most important person in my life, and I can no longer leave her. Please let me go with her."

After saying this, Juxin turned and left. Her figure gradually disappeared into the night in the military camp.

Tong Jincheng and Tong Jinyu were both stunned. They knew they could no longer keep Juxin. They could only silently wish her a reunion with her mother in another world.

In their grief, Tong Jincheng and Tong Jinyu began preparing for their mother's funeral. Knowing that their mother had always wished to return to her homeland, they decided to bring her ashes back to the palace for burial.

At the funeral, everyone was saddened by Su Ling's passing. They offered their condolences and respect. Tong Jincheng and Tong Jinyu stood silently before their mother's tombstone, their hearts filled with endless longing and grief.

The majestic walls of the palace appeared exceptionally solemn in the afterglow of the setting sun, seemingly able to isolate them from all worldly troubles. Tong Jincheng and Tong Jinyu, carrying Su Ling's ashes, stepped onto this land that was both familiar and strange. Their hearts were filled with complex emotions: a deep longing for their mother, and trepidation about the unknown future within the palace.

As soon as they stepped into the palace gates, they encountered Jiang Yexuan and Li Qinghe. These two had once been important officials in the palace, but they had failed to provide sufficient support and assistance during Su Ling's death, which filled Tong Jincheng and Tong Jinyu with resentment and indifference.

"Lord Jiang, Lord Li, how are you?" Tong Jincheng's voice was as cold as ice in winter, and his eyes revealed undisguised reproach.

Jiang Yexuan and Li Qinghe were both taken aback upon hearing this. They knew they had made mistakes in Su Ling's passing, and therefore felt somewhat embarrassed and guilty about Tong Jincheng and Tong Jinyu's attitude.

"General Tong, Miss Tong, we..." Jiang Yexuan wanted to explain, but was stopped by Tong Jincheng's cold gaze.

"No need to say more." Tong Jinyu's voice was as cold as a blade in the cold wind. "You are all to blame for Mother's passing. Our friendship is now severed because of this."

After saying that, Tong Jinyu ignored them and turned to leave. Her figure appeared particularly resolute and determined in the afterglow of the setting sun.

Jiang Yexuan and Li Qinghe exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with helplessness and regret. They knew they could no longer regain Tong Jincheng and Tong Jinyu's trust.

In the days that followed, with Tong Jincheng's support, Tong Jinyu began preparations for her coronation ceremony. She was to become the new emperor of this country, and she was determined to protect this land for her mother.

The day of the coronation ceremony finally arrived. The palace was brightly decorated and filled with joy. However, in Tong Jinyu's heart, there was a deep longing for her mother. Standing on the high throne, looking down at the officials and people below, a strange emotion welled up in her heart.

"From this day forward, I am the new emperor of this country." Tong Jinyu's voice echoed in the hall. "I will remember my mother's teachings and face all challenges and difficulties with strength, courage, and rationality."

Upon hearing this, the assembled officials all knelt down and shouted "Long live the Emperor!" However, in Tong Jinyu's eyes, she seemed to see her mother's figure. She seemed to see her mother smiling at her, and she seemed to hear her mother saying, "Jinyu, you must become a good emperor."

Tong Jincheng stood aside, silently watching his sister ascend the throne. His heart was filled with longing and emotion for his mother. He remembered her kindness, her teachings, and her expectations of him. He knew that he must protect his sister and the country in his mother's place.

"Jin Cheng." Tong Jinyu's voice suddenly rang out, interrupting his thoughts, "Come here."

Upon hearing this, Tong Jincheng quickly went to his sister's side. Looking at her determined eyes, a strange emotion welled up in his heart.

“Jin Cheng, I know your attitude towards Jiang Yexuan and Li Qinghe,” Tong Jinyu’s voice was low and firm, “but we need their support now. Do you understand what I mean?”

Tong Jincheng was taken aback upon hearing this. Looking into his sister's resolute eyes, he understood her meaning. He knew she was thinking of the bigger picture. He nodded and said, "I understand. I will try my best to get along with them."
