Su Ling's Time Travel

Chapter 1 I Became Queen in the Apocalypse

The night was as dark as ink, the stars hidden, and the apocalyptic wind, carrying a biting chill and the scent of death, howled past. Su Ling, a woman who should have been living an ordinary life in a modern city, was transported to this bizarre and fantastical post-apocalyptic world by a sudden car accident, her soul traversing a rift in time and space.

When she awoke, she found herself lying in a strange and desolate place, surrounded by dilapidated buildings and scattered ruins. Thick dust filled the sky, as if the whole world was shrouded in a gloom. Her body was burning hot, and her head was spinning; clearly, the original owner of this body had been running a high fever before she arrived.

Su Ling struggled to sit up and looked around. She saw several hideous zombies ramming against a crumbling iron gate not far away. The gate rattled and banged as if it would collapse at any moment. Fear pierced her heart like ice. Instinctively, she backed away, but tripped on a loose stone, lost her balance, and fell to the ground.

However, at the moment she fell, she was surprised to find that her hand touched the cold ground. That real feeling told her that she was no longer that wandering soul, but had taken on this body named Su Ling.

Just as she was trying to get up from the ground, a sharp and cold voice pierced the silence: "You really know how to cause trouble! If you're sick, just stay in bed and don't come out and drag everyone down!"

Su Ling looked up and saw a woman in a black leather jacket standing not far away. Her face was cold and her eyes revealed an undeniable authority. In her hand, she held a sharp dagger, the blade gleaming coldly, as if it could slice through any obstacle at any moment.

"Who...who are you?" Su Ling asked in a trembling voice, her voice filled with fear and confusion.

"Who I am is unimportant. What matters is that you cut your hand because of this illness, and the smell of blood attracted these zombies," the woman in black said coldly. "In this apocalypse, injury means death, do you understand?"

Su Ling froze. She looked down and, sure enough, found a small wound on her palm. The blood had dried, but the faint smell of blood seemed to linger in the air. She couldn't help but feel a wave of fear. It turned out that her arrival had not only brought trouble to the original owner of this body, but had also almost killed others.

"I...I didn't mean to," Su Ling said, her voice trembling with tears. "I just...I just woke up and didn't know what to do."

"Don't know what to do? Then you should stay in a safe place!" The woman in black's words were full of impatience. "Now, because you're injured, you'll be a burden to everyone, so you must leave immediately!"

Su Ling was stunned. She didn't understand why this woman was so cold and ruthless. Was human life really so worthless in this apocalypse?

"But... but where should I go?" Su Ling asked helplessly.

"Where to go? To die, of course! Or, you could try asking those zombies if they'll take you in!" The woman in black's words were full of sarcasm and indifference.

Su Ling's heart sank to the bottom. She had never imagined that after transmigrating to this apocalyptic world, she would encounter such a cruel reality. She wanted to resist, to fight for a glimmer of hope for herself, but her body was so weak that she could barely stand, let alone resist.

Just as she was in despair, a violent wave of dizziness suddenly struck, her vision went black, and the whole world seemed to be spinning. She tried to stay awake, but the dizziness overwhelmed her like a tidal wave.

In her final moments before losing consciousness, she heard a low sigh, a sigh that seemed to contain endless sorrow and helplessness. Then, all was quiet, and she fell into a deep coma.

When she awoke again, she found herself in a relatively safe place, a simple shelter built from broken planks and stones. Beside her sat a kind-faced old man, gazing at her with wise eyes.

"You're awake?" The old man's voice was gentle and kind, like a ray of warm sunshine piercing through the gloom in Su Ling's heart.

"Where...where am I?" Su Ling struggled to sit up, looked around, and found that she was no longer the helpless and vulnerable person she had been before, but was in a place with some human warmth.

“This is our temporary shelter,” the old man explained with a smile. “After you fell unconscious, it was those men in black who brought you back. Although they appear cold and ruthless, they still have a touch of human warmth deep down.”

Su Ling was stunned. She hadn't expected those seemingly cold-blooded men in black to save her. A complex mix of emotions welled up inside her, a mixture of gratitude and confusion.

"Why...why did they save me?" Su Ling asked, puzzled.
