Moonlight falls into my arms

Chapter 9 "...Why don't you want me anymore?"

Ruan Li then said to Jiang Yu in a serious tone, "Unfortunately, you only meet two of the requirements here: handsome and tall."

"It's alright. Rules are rules, but people are flexible. Leave it to me."

Back home, Ruan Li walked ahead of Jiang Yuci, saying, "Let me wash first!"

She was covered in sweat and felt sticky all over.

Jiang Yuci poured himself a glass of water and sat on the sofa to deal with messages on his phone.

A piece of news first caught Jiang Yuci's attention.

A master of sneak attacks:

Are you a primary school student? Have you finished school yet?

Ruan Li had just finished showering and washing her hair when Jiang Yuci handed her his phone.

Ruan Li pouted as she looked at the question above: "I'm not a primary school student."

She now knows that the person who cursed her last time, Chacha Ans, means elementary school student. Although Ruan Li doesn't understand why someone would use "elementary school student" as an insult, since elementary school students are so cute.

"Jiang Yuci, look, if you don't let me play on my phone, people will start to suspect I'm a primary school student."

Ruan Li used Jiang Yuci's phone to call back.

Her hair was still wet and dripping water, which touched Jiang Yuci's sweater.

Jiang Yuci smelled a familiar fragrance, but it wasn't coming from herself; it was coming from someone who looked a lot like Ruan Li.

Jiang Yu suddenly wanted to ask her where she took the training course.

"Are you going to take a shower?" Ruan Li replied to the message, still reluctant to return the phone. "I'll just play for a little while, I'll give it back to you after you've finished showering."

Jiang Yuci snatched the phone away, giving Ruan Li no chance.

Ruan Li: "......"

When Jiang Yuci finished showering and came out, the room was already empty.

Jiang Yuci assumed Ruan Li had gone back to her room and didn't think much of it.

It wasn't until Jiang Yuci came out of the study and returned to her bedroom that she saw the only hairdryer in the house sitting properly on the table.

He frowned slightly, then took a hairdryer and knocked on Ruan Li's door.

There was no reaction inside.

Jiang Yuci knocked twice more.

Still no response.

"Dry your hair before you go to sleep; your cold isn't better yet."

He didn't want to stay up all night taking care of a patient with a fever.

There was no sound from inside, not even a word. Jiang Yuci sensed something was wrong and asked twice, but no one responded before she opened the door and went in.

There was no one in the room.

Jiang Yuci's heart sank. She took the hairdryer and walked around the room, which could be seen at a glance, and even looked inside the closet.

No one was in the living room, bedroom, balcony, or kitchen.

Jiang Yuci didn't even put on a coat before opening the door to go out.

He looked up and saw the hairdryer he was holding, and he suddenly stopped.

The room was quiet as usual, without the sound of her playing games.

But this is Jiang Yuci's life.

He gripped the hairdryer tightly and went back to his room.

Looking at the phone sitting properly on the table, he touched it with his fingertip, the cold screen reflecting his downcast eyes.

Jiang Yuci, do you really think of her as Ruan Li?

all fake.

"Meow......"

Ruan Li, carrying a bag of flour and a small pot, looked into the bushes at a dark, tangled mass, revealing a pair of large, round cat eyes that were wary and cautious.

The place where she worked only provided one lunch. Ruan Li was starving because she hadn't eaten dinner. Eating out was too expensive, so Ruan Li gritted her teeth and used her day's money to buy a bag of noodles and a small pot.

As I was about to head back, I wasn't paying attention and accidentally stepped on the cat's foot. The kitten darted into the bushes in a panic.

Ruan Li peeled open a sausage from her extra meal, raised her hand and teased it: "This is to make it up to you."

"Meow..." The kitten cautiously approached, perhaps because it was starving, it didn't mind that the person in front of it had stepped on its foot, or perhaps it could sense Ruan Li's kindness.

The kitten munched away and finished the whole sausage.

Ruan Li felt a pang of pity seeing its fur soaked by the snow, but she was already in dire straits herself, and Jiang Yuci, that germaphobe, would never allow her to take the stray cat home.

The thought of Jiang Yuci played automatically in Ruan Li's mind. He coldly uttered the word "no" in a flat voice.

Just thinking about that scene made Ruan Li laugh out loud, her shoulders shaking.

The kitten trembled in fright.

Ruan Li stroked its little head. "I wasn't laughing at you. I was laughing at a fool."

The little black cat stuck out its tongue to lick a hook that Ruan Li was holding in her palm. Two pistachios were dangling from the ring, their white skins encasing the lush green fruit.

Ruan Li quickly withdrew her hand, "Hey, you can't lick that, that idiot is a germaphobe."

Ruan Li bought another sausage, put it near the kitten's mouth, and left.

She went upstairs, entered her password, and it showed that the password was incorrect.

Ruan Li paused for a moment, as if she had anticipated something, and gradually felt flustered. She carefully entered the password again.

It's still wrong.

"Jiang Yuci!" Ruan Li rang the doorbell several times.

The door remained closed even after the doorbell rang several times.

Ruan Li sneezed, feeling a chill creep up her body, and huddled up in a ball by the door.

Staring at her fingers, deformed, red, and white from being squeezed by the plastic bag, Ruan Li suddenly felt like crying.

Tears blurred her vision. Ruan Li tucked her sleeves and wiped them away. She stood up and looked at the closed door.

Who cares? He's just a fool who's had a crush on someone for ten years but never dared to confess.

Ruan Li took two steps forward, carrying the bag.

With a click behind my ear, the door opened.

Ruan Li turned her head and saw Jiang Yuci's half-face hidden behind the door. He wasn't wearing glasses, and his dark, deep eyes were staring at Ruan Li.

"...Why don't you want me anymore?"

The little girl's voice was hoarse, filled with grievance and confusion. She looked up at his face, which was red from crying, and the dried tear tracks mixed with glistening tears wet her eyelashes.

Jiang Yuci brushed his hand over her wet hair, then looked down at what Ruan Li was carrying.

He tightened his grip on the doorknob, then turned and left.

The door was ajar, and the light from inside shone onto Ruan Li's face.

Ruan Li walked in slowly.

But they found that Jiang Yuci had not returned to his room. He was sitting on the sofa in the living room, with a hairdryer on the coffee table.

Ruan Li walked over, her voice weak: "I... I was just too hungry..."

Jiang Yuci stood up, took the things she was carrying, and said in a calm voice, "Dry your hair."

Ruan Li watched as he carried the small pot and noodles into the kitchen.

The kitchen light, which had never been turned on before, came on.

Through the window, Ruan Li watched Jiang Yuci's broad back as he took out the small pot to wash it.

Ruan Li stood in the living room drying her hair, the loud noise filling the room.

Jiang Yuci came out of the kitchen.

Ruan Li turned off the hair dryer, and the roaring sound immediately stopped.

Jiang Yuci looked over.

My hair was half dry, the redness on my face had subsided, but my eyes were still slightly swollen.

"Where are you going?" Ruan Li's voice was still hoarse from crying.

Jiang Yuci looked away. "I'll buy something."

He opened the door and went out, and Ruan Li stared at him.

He added, "I'll come back."

About ten minutes later, Ruan Li was drying her hair when she saw him come back carrying a large plastic bag.

Then open the refrigerator.

The items in the plastic bag were taken out one by one and put into the refrigerator.

Eggs, lettuce, potatoes, tomatoes, and meat.

The empty refrigerator was filled with all kinds of food.

Once Ruan Li's hair was completely dry, Jiang Yuci brought out a bowl of egg noodles.

Ruan Li watched him put the noodles on the table, then went back to her room without saying a word.

"..."

Ruan Li put down the hairdryer, touched her belly, and walked over.

Looking at the bowl of egg noodles that looked and smelled delicious, I thought to myself:

So he can cook.

After finishing her meal, Ruan Li took her bowl and chopsticks into the kitchen. The pot had already been washed and placed beside her.

Ruan Li squeezed out some dish soap that Jiang Yuci had just bought and washed the dishes and chopsticks.

She wiped her hands with a tissue and slowly made her way to Jiang Yuci's door.

"that......"

Ruan Li lowered her head. "I won't run off without telling you anymore."

There was no sound coming from inside.

Ruan Li hooked the hook onto the doorknob and silently went back to her room.
