Boonie Bears: Another World Fantasy

Chapter 94 The Crossroads (Part 2)

Is this an illusion?

In this world where illusion and reality intertwine, his gaze met Xia Jie's. Sharp stared intently at his sister, his steps slow and hesitant as he crossed the door connecting reality and virtuality. When he stepped onto the familiar living room floor, the familiar touch almost brought tears to Sharp's eyes.

"Sharp? Where have you been?" Usually at this time, her older sister would have rushed over, crying and scolding her, but today her reaction was unusually calm.

However, Sharp didn't pay much attention to these things. He held back his tears, strode forward, and hugged Xia Jie tightly.

"Sister, I don't know why I came here, and it wasn't on purpose to avoid you... It just happened for no reason." Sharp poured out all the words that had been building up in her heart, and immediately felt a great release of the pent-up emotions within her.

“My dear little brother, how could your sister blame you? As long as you are safe and sound, that’s all that matters…” Xia Jie said softly, gently stroking her brother’s head, as if comforting a wounded little animal.

"Sharp..." Another melodious voice rang out, and Naya tenderly took Sharp's arm and gently kissed the back of his hand. It was like a feather brushing against him, yet it stirred up a thousand waves in Sharp's heart.

The soft touch sent shivers down Sharp's spine; he could even feel his heart racing. However, Naya seemed unsatisfied. She placed her hands on Sharp's waist, and her cherry lips parted slightly, revealing a hint of shyness and anticipation.

Just then, Sharp suddenly realized that if this were the real world, how could his sister and Naya have known each other? This question weighed heavily on his mind, refusing to be resolved. But at this moment, he couldn't resist Naya's captivating charm; the familiar scent emanating from her hair, mingled with the fragrance of the forest, intoxicated him.

The kiss was as gentle and deep as a dragonfly skimming the water, and Naya's eyes were filled with love. Sharp felt her passion and responded to her.

“Stay here, Sharp, it’s too dangerous over there… Besides, the person you love has come back to you, hasn’t she?” Xia Jie advised.

“Of course, sister, I’m not going anywhere—” Sharp replied, completely absorbed. After going through so much, his previously grumbling heart had calmed down, and now he only wanted to enjoy this beautiful and precious moment.

Naya gripped Sharp's hand tightly, as if afraid he would suddenly leave, and continued, "When everything is over, we'll find a nice place away from this hustle and bustle, a place with clear water, lush trees, and a wide view... and then build a cozy little house there." Her words were full of longing for their future life.

“Let your sister, my sister, Zhao Lin, and Abu come to witness our wedding. And the baby… things will probably be hectic after the baby is born… but that’s okay, we’ll just watch the children grow up, and that will be the end of it all.” Naya’s face beamed with a pure smile. Perhaps, as she said, those wonderful days were just around the corner for the two of them.

It turns out that Naya's considerations went far beyond Sharp's; her vision was so sincere that it was truly moving. Who wouldn't be captivated by such a woman?

"Little Na, isn't this moving a bit too fast..." Sharp scratched his head sheepishly. Although he didn't mean to reject her, he was afraid that all of this would come to nothing before the cause and effect were resolved.

“This isn’t a fantasy, Sharp. Or… do you have no intention of doing this at all?” Naya’s voice carried a hint of melancholy and disappointment.

Sharp gently brushed a strand of hair away from her forehead and replied, "Of course I'm worried, Na, I'm just concerned about our safety—"

“It’s safe here, no one will bother us… those inside can’t get out, and those outside can’t get in.” Suddenly, Naya’s tone changed subtly, and a hint of something that didn’t belong to her flashed quickly in her deep eyes.

Sharp keenly sensed the deeper meaning hidden behind those words.

He instinctively looked back, only to find that the door that had been behind him had disappeared... or rather, had been closed.

"Sharp, don't you want to see me again at all? Are those people over there really worth your sacrifice?" Xia Jie questioned her brother during this brief moment.

His unease grew stronger, and Sharp frowned, instinctively taking two steps back to distance himself from the two women. He clenched his fists, leaned forward slightly, and stared at them warily, his eyes flashing with a sharp light.

“My sister would never say such a thing! Who are you people?” Although he sensed something was amiss, he still couldn’t immediately see through the trap that short-haired Sharp had meticulously set. His emotions were swayed by momentary excitement, and he lost his vigilance.

Just then, black smoke began to rise from Xia Jie and Naya's bodies, their eyes gradually filling with blood, as if they were being corrupted by dark forces. Sharp's heart sank, watching helplessly as they turned to dust and dissipated into the air. Then, the once familiar living room began to collapse, walls crumbling and furniture shattering into splinters.

He finally realized that this was not the real world, nor the so-called intersection, but a fantasy place that was being manipulated.

"Why not just stop? You have a sister who loves you so much and a lover who's willing to grow old with you... Sharp, do you really think you can change everything here?" Short-haired Sharp's voice echoed all around. In this boundless space, Sharp could hardly distinguish between what was real and what was fake.

“That’s right, after all, she’s dead, and you can’t bear to part with her… Hahahaha, how come I didn’t think of that? You and I have always been the same—” His voice grew more and more agitated. “From beginning to end, I was the one who arranged your meeting with her, but in the end, we still couldn’t escape the fate of her death? I should have realized it sooner. I’ve used so many methods to save her… but the real her just can’t come back.”

"Only you would do something so despicable! Stop pretending!" Sharp roared at the sky.

Short-haired Sharp's laughter stopped abruptly, as if he had been angered by Sharp's words: "The longer you go on, the clearer you'll understand why I gave you the choice to go back or stay."

Sharp sneered: "Choice? Everything you've done is just to satisfy your own selfish desires. You're too selfish!"

Short-haired Sharp paused for a moment, then slowly said, "Perhaps, but that won't stop me from achieving my goal. And you will become my stepping stone... cough cough, I almost fell into my old habit of spoiling the plot. Since you're so persistent, then I'll let you experience firsthand the feeling of people around you dying and disappearing one by one. Stubbornness and helplessness are your greatest enemies in this life!" After saying that, short-haired Sharp reappeared, the door slowly opening behind him, and a figure walked towards Sharp against the light.

“No one knows you better than me, Sharp. I am you, and you are me… Finally, as a farewell gift, I’ve brought you an old acquaintance—” After uttering these words, his body gradually became transparent and could no longer be seen.

"Don't go!" Sharp rushed forward, but his hands grasped at empty air.

The air seemed to be churning, as if awaiting the arrival of the figure behind the door. Sharp was so overwhelmed by the other person's powerful aura that he had to retreat repeatedly.

"What an amazing background! I never imagined that someone as ordinary as you would have such a big secret hidden behind you..." A soft laugh was followed by a dazzling white light that dissipated.

The visitor was none other than Anarle Lefebvre.

“At first, I didn’t believe in the feeling of the All-Seeing Eye either, until you, the short-haired one, revealed everything to me, and then I dared to be sure. No wonder Mus’s plan failed from the start; it turns out there was an outsider.” After Lefebvre finished speaking, he slowly drew the twin blades at his feet, his eyes flashing with intense killing intent.

Sharp desperately searched his body for usable weapons, but with virtually no fighting ability, he was no match for Lefie no matter how hard he struggled.

“Let’s end this farce in your mind this time, without any pain or injury, just like your little lover—” Lefie licked his lips, a smirk playing on his lips.

She raised the double-edged sword in her hand and brought it down with a swift motion.
