Boonie Bears: Another World Fantasy
On the Eve of Chapter 78 (Part 1)
“Mr. Wei, mutual trust is the foundation for establishing initial cooperation. I will certainly convey your meaning to General Mus.”
Hidden beneath the White Bear Mountain outpost in an independent research institute, when Lefebvre appeared before a group of researchers, their faces betrayed their astonishment and fear. Not only was this place highly classified, accessible only to select personnel, but everyone here had witnessed the woman's power; her presence was invariably linked to death.
"Who gave you permission to enter here?" A middle-aged man in charge of security looked at Lefie with a gloomy face. However, before he could finish speaking, Wei stepped out from behind Lefie.
“Relax, everyone, she’s just here to ‘escort’ a gift. We’ve already agreed on the terms, and she won’t pose any threat to us.” Wei’s words brought a slight sense of relief to the crowd, but some remained skeptical.
Just then, a squad of fully armed soldiers slowly pushed a rectangular white container into the research institute. The container looked huge and heavy, requiring several people to push it. The soldiers carefully pushed the container to the end of the corridor.
Wei stepped forward, gently patted the surface of the container, and said to Lefie with satisfaction, "Tell me, what exactly do you want? I can have my secretary arrange it."
However, Lefève remained calm and unhurried. As the door to the isolation room slowly opened, a white mist of disinfectant vapor spread out like a veil, enveloping the two of them.
"Let's inspect the goods first before discussing anything further, President Wei." As the fog gradually dissipated, Lefebvre stared at the isolation room ahead and said calmly.
The crane arm on the platform hummed softly as it nimbly extended, gripping the sides of the container and carefully lifting a corner of the coffin-like object to reveal the dense liquid nitrogen inside. The diffusion of the liquid nitrogen sent a chill down one's spine. But Lefie seemed unconcerned. She walked to the container and gently blew into it, dispersing the condensed gas covering the humanoid body inside.
Despite his prior preparation, the scene before him still exceeded Wei's expectations. The girl lay quietly in the container; after so many days, her body had not been corroded or decayed, but instead displayed a strange vitality. Her skin was as smooth and delicate as ancient jade, shimmering with a faint golden light; her long brown hair cascaded down her shoulders. Even more astonishingly, the wounds that had been on her body were slowly healing, disappearing without a trace, leaving no visible mark.
"What's going on?" Wei asked uncertainly.
"Golden antlers." For some reason, Lefie glanced at it and quickly looked away. Her fingertips lightly brushed against Naya's skin, as if sensing something.
Wei frowned: "Golden antlers? What are those?"
“This little girl was personally chosen by the Deer God as his bodyguard, so of course she wouldn’t die so easily. The remaining energy from the golden antlers is still working within her, slowing down her physical decline,” Lefie explained.
Upon hearing this, Wei couldn't help but shudder. Looking at Naya, who was motionless in the container, he recalled how he had almost died at her hands in Bear Ridge, and a sense of fear welled up in his heart.
"You mean she's not quite dead yet? I don't want to see her suddenly jump up when I'm taking a sample."
“Although her body is still active, her consciousness has separated from her body. Now she is just an empty shell, unable to move or resist us.” After saying that, Lefie reached out again, extending the threads from his fingertips toward Naya’s forehead. The threads writhed like snakes.
After hesitating for a while, Wei opened the briefcase next to him and took out the tools inside.
"How could those people at the Academy of Sciences let you bring her over?" Wei asked suspiciously. He really couldn't understand why those guys at the Academy of Sciences would let her go so easily.
“I switched the containers, and the table they’re holding now is a fake. Mus didn’t want her remains to fall into your hands, so she sent me to carry out the retrieval work.”
"So, was I the first person to contact her?" Realizing that Lefie had acted as an intermediary and pulled some strings, Will gradually lowered his guard against her.
“This is a privilege I’ve granted you, so shouldn’t we keep our promise?” Lefie raised his eyes, a sly glint in them, his implication clear.
......
Thirty minutes later.
The wind howled through the mountains like a raging hurricane, its roar deafening. Lefie stood on the cold slope of White Bear Mountain, the wind whipping her hair about. She stopped, took off her heavy coat, and tossed it aside carelessly, revealing the dense, deer-striped markings on her arms.
Through rocky ridges and thick ice, in this cold and silent environment, her keen perception brought the world around her to life.
This feeling reminded her of the chaotic scenes in the heart of human cities, where countless people and things intertwined to form a dazzling spectacle. However, Lefie was not distracted by this complex scene; she focused on her immediate target—the large hole excavated by the V Group.
Lefebvre bent down and picked up a broken stick, then wrapped it with his discarded coat. He lit a small fire. The faint light flickered in the darkness as Lefebvre, torch in hand, cautiously made his way towards the large hole.
Passing through the long ice cave, Lefebvre followed the crack into the temple. Her hand touched the heavy stone door, and the runes on it immediately shimmered. As the door slowly opened, Lefebvre stepped inside without hesitation.
Upon entering the temple, she followed the winding passageway until she arrived at a platform overlooking the entire hall. From here, she could see the enormous throne below, as well as the exquisite architecture and decorations surrounding it. Lefebvre stopped, quietly admiring everything before her.
“We will not allow our sacred bloodline to become weak. Only the strongest and purest Deer Clan will survive in this new world.”
After so many years of painful civil war, she has finally arrived here and is about to realize her dream.
“Right, Grandmother?” Anarle Lefebvre murmured to himself, his eyes narrowing slightly, a cold glint in them, as he looked down at the statue of Saint Hilde Lefebvre.
"Stop, Lefère." A familiar voice came from behind, transcending the limitations of time and space, and clearly entered Lefère's ears.
Lefebvre paused slightly, slowly turning around, her gaze settling on the figure before her. There stood Na Yuan, but she immediately realized it was merely an illusion.
Lefère's lips curled into a mocking smile. "I knew you'd be here," she said dismissively.
She slowly circled Na Yuan, every detail so lifelike that she couldn't help but feel a little surprised. "How do you plan to stop me? Na Ling is missing, and Na Ya, on whom you placed so much hope, is also dead... Or are you going to rely on your words?" Le Fei sneered, her words full of sarcasm.
“You didn’t have to become a lackey of Mus. You have brought shame upon your family,” Na Yuan said calmly. “Besides, the High Priest can never be the one on the throne.”
"Hmph—" Upon hearing this, Lefie's eyes narrowed slightly, and she subconsciously clenched her fists, but then slowly relaxed them.
“I don’t need to argue with a dead man here, which is why those who use their fists always live longer than those who use their mouths.” She turned around to face Na Yuan.
"Soon, Mus will place the golden antlers in the largest city nearby—Deep City. At that time, you can wait for the rebirth of the deer clan—" After saying this, Lefi contemptuously passed through Na Yuan's body, stepped off the platform, and walked towards the high throne in the hall.
The empty hall seemed to echo with those incessant declarations—
Long live the Queen.
