Boonie Bears: Another World Fantasy

Chapter 7: A Little More Daily Life

In the real world—

"We are still investigating the circumstances surrounding your brother's disappearance..."

Xia Jie stared in disbelief at the completely sealed-off rooms, where Sharp's usual belongings were carefully packed into bags.

"Could he have been kidnapped?!"

The police officer in front of him shook his head slightly, indicating that this possibility could not be ruled out at the moment.

“Even if they were kidnapped, so many days have passed, how could the kidnappers not have any news at all?” After saying that, he walked to the computer desk that Sharp used to use and deliberately touched the keyboard.

It was lightly covered with a layer of dust.

"There have been a few sudden disappearances before, but there were always reasons... Why is it so sudden this time...?"

She simply couldn't believe her brother would do something like running away from home or disappearing on his own. There must be a reason; Sharp couldn't possibly do such a thing!

"Don't panic. Think carefully about whether he has had any unpleasant conflicts or made any enemies with anyone."

However, Xia Jie shook her head repeatedly.

“I know him better than anyone else. With his personality, he would never provoke anyone.”

"That's strange." The officer stroked his chin. Although it didn't make logical sense, a living person couldn't just disappear into thin air.

Looking at the things her younger brother used to use, Xia Jie held her head in her hands and squatted in the corner, blaming herself.

How could I be so stupid... Why did I let this happen?

If it had been discovered earlier, wouldn't it have been—

"Team Leader Zou, we found a computer mainframe with obvious impact marks in the storage room."

"Oh?"

The police officer surnamed Zou immediately became interested.

In the dark storage room, a huge computer case lay in the center, with cardboard boxes around it all tilted over.

The main unit appears to have fallen from somewhere, causing it to break into pieces.

"If you got hit by this thing, your head would probably explode, right?" the police officer joked unintentionally.

The auxiliary police officer next to him nudged him hard.

"What did you say?" Xia Jie, who was following behind, looked like she wanted to eat someone alive.

"Ahem." He cleared his throat somewhat awkwardly, changing the subject. Then, he stepped aside to let Xia Jie come forward.

"What I mean is that your brother's disappearance might be related to this mainframe."

......

Having experienced the sunrise and sunset in the enchanted forest, the time difference here is driving Sharp crazy.

Early in the morning, Naya disappeared again.

Sharp, who should have slept until the afternoon, woke up unusually early in the morning. The reason was that he had been struggling between sleeping and not sleeping all night. The strange noises coming from the forest and the illogical bioluminescent plants were giving him a terrible headache. What was even more annoying was that there were furry things constantly getting closer to him, making him feel terrified in the middle of the night.

After thinking about it, the little thing that looked like a hamster ball came closer again, floating in mid-air, much like a jellyfish.

"Goo." The monkey head mushroom sprite landed precisely on Sharp's nose.

"No—Achoo!!!"

Ha, if it weren't for the fact that Naya seemed to like you a lot, I would have cooked you long ago.

He carefully climbed down from the hammock, supporting his lower back. Remembering how Naya always liked to appear in unexpected places, Sharp deliberately looked around to make sure no one was there.

Sigh, I time-traveled in such a hurry that I didn't even bring spare clothes.

Sharp took off his jacket, revealing a T-shirt covered in anime character designs, his face full of bitterness. "How could I possibly wear this out in public?!"

Why did I wear this outfit underneath that day?

Just as he was about to take it off and turn it inside out, a face suddenly appeared in front of him, upside down, with delicate features.

"You're awake?" Naya said smugly.

"No, you're here again?"

Sharp was utterly speechless. What was wrong with this girl? She was always appearing and disappearing like a ghost.

She landed lightly, flicked her bangs, and stared intently at Sharp's "bold" fashion style.

"Do all the people outside... dress like this?" she asked, pointing to Sharp's T-shirt.

"Not entirely..." He scratched his head, using his jacket to gradually cover his T-shirt. He'd had all sorts of embarrassing things happen to him these past few days.

"Won't this outfit make you stand out?"

Clearly, she lacks a certain level of understanding of trends and otaku culture; it's understandable that she doesn't comprehend them.

"Well..." He didn't even know how to explain it to her for a moment.

"Simply put, it's about sticking the person you like on your clothes."

Yes, that's a simple and clear explanation.

Naya tilted her head, her eyes seeming to say: Is that so? I'm not that easy to fool!

She is truly extraordinary, beautiful and generous, like a pearl that has maintained its purity, shining brightly amidst the mountains, rivers, lakes, and seas.

Sharp was quite engrossed in watching.

Unbeknownst to her, Xia Jie's shadow slowly merged with her own.

"Hey, little brother, when are you going to get me a sister-in-law?" Xia Jie had mentioned this to him countless times, as far as he could remember.

"Do you think you're my mom? Why don't you get me a brother-in-law then?" Sharp said irritably while playing a game.

"If you're going to look for a girl, look for someone different—beautiful, generous, and reserved...like your older sister, me."

"Give me a break, you don't even have any of these skills..." Sharp said lazily.

"That's because you're tired of seeing it!!" Xia Jie said, picking up a pillow to hit him.

"Heh, still so bad." Sharp chuckled wryly.

Sis, I think I've found the perfect girl you described...

……

After breakfast, realizing that leaving Sharp alone wasn't a solution, Naya took him with her to the southern part of the forest.

“It’s a bit humid and hot in the southern part of the forest, it’s a rainforest climate… There’s a medicine there that can heal your back injury faster.” She said, walking ahead, enunciating each word clearly. Sharp, on the other hand, found a broken branch to use as a cane and tied a long piece of wood around his waist as a support board.

Damn it, it's all because of that useless skill! If only his hit rate were even a little bit lower...

"Heroine, could you please slow down—"

Watching Naya, light as a feather, easily flip over the huge, rotten log that was blocking the path, while Sharp grabbed onto the cracks and slowly moved upwards.

I wish I hadn't come; it would have been so much better to stay in bed...

While complaining, she also had to make sure her back injury wouldn't recur.

Seeing Sharp in such a disheveled state, Naya helplessly shrugged, indicating that it would be much easier for him to walk to the front.

Seriously, I'm so weak I feel like I'm about to die...

Have I, who used to be full of energy, now degenerated to the point where I can't even walk a few steps?

Hey, big brother Zhaoyu is such a nobody!

He could almost picture how Naya would mock him later.

If she'd like...
