Boonie Bears: Another World Fantasy
Chapter 124 The Unburnt End
Even if you were to go back there, nothing would change.
"Their fates were already predetermined; who lives and who dies is simply a matter of nature."
Short-haired Sharp's words lingered in her ears for a long time.
"Now that he has made his choice, how are you going to salvage everything, Naya?"
Sharp...no...give me a little more time, please wait for me!!
Naya roared, her beautiful eyes filled with uncontrollable brutality.
She brandished her spear with reckless abandon, felling the royal guards who tried to block her path. The flames roared with the terrified neighing of horses and the screams of soldiers; chaos reigned.
"Why are you stopping me?!" Naya demanded angrily of her enemies. As her emotions spiraled out of control, the once dazzling feathers at her waist began to be gradually stained by darkness, slowly turning an eerie black. Her armor was also covered in splattered blood, which appeared particularly crimson in the firelight.
Looking at Naya, who was gradually descending into madness, Bald Qiang could only carefully walk around the shattered limbs and fragments on the ground and follow her to their final destination.
Seeing a troop of heavily armored cavalry approaching, Bald Qiang immediately stopped and rolled into a deep crater created by a missile. Unexpectedly, Naya completely disregarded the cavalry, leaping forward and transforming into a sharp golden streak in mid-air as she charged straight at them.
"Hahaha, are you angry?" Kronaya hovered around her like a shadow, her piercing laughter constantly bothering her. Like a tireless fly, she relentlessly provoked Naya with sharp and sarcastic words.
"However, even someone as perceptive as you couldn't recognize me at first glance..."
"I don't care who you are!" Naya gripped her spear tightly and thrust it towards Clone Naya. The spear tip flashed, piercing straight through Clone Naya's heart.
The liquid, a mixture of purple star and blood flowing within her body, gushed out without warning. This purplish-red liquid splashed everywhere, much of it directly onto Naya's face.
She instinctively took two steps back, staring in astonishment at the disgusting liquid on her hands, and touched it with trembling hands.
"How does it taste? This was specially prepared just for you..." Seeing that Naya had fallen for the trap, the clone finally stopped pretending. Her twisted, maniacal laughter finally froze into a familiar and repulsive expression—Anar le Fay's signature smile.
"Lefi?!" Naya was startled when she saw the true identity of the person in front of her.
“My mind and body were forced apart, and my abilities were taken away by Mavia, but if it weren’t for Ito’s surgery… to dig out my brain and reattach it to this spare body, I might have really died—” Purple stars kept flowing out of Lefie’s chest, but she didn’t care at all.
"I never imagined this body would be a one-to-one replica of yours, made from golden antlers... Mus even wanted this poor clone to infiltrate your ranks and secretly undermine you, but... someone else had already taken over the job of this traitor—"
"Traitor?" Hearing this word, Naya's thoughts drifted, and she involuntarily became distracted. Meanwhile, the purple liquid began to exert its eerie effects, slowly eroding Naya's body, as thin as venomous snakes…
An indescribable sense of powerlessness quickly spread throughout her body, making even standing extremely difficult. Breathing also became increasingly difficult.
"However... little girl, since you've ruined my original body, then now I can only compensate you with you!" Lefie sneered. "The status I lost, the power I once possessed, I will take back from you bit by bit!"
Naya was now severely corrupted by the Purple Star, her body swaying precariously, about to collapse heavily to the ground. Lefi reached out a hand and naturally wrapped it around her slender waist, pulling her into his embrace, his nose freely sniffing her blood-stained body.
"Such a sexy body, no wonder Sharp can't forget you...tsk tsk tsk."
"Get away from me!" Naya struggled in humiliation.
......
“It’s almost time, sir. We’ve achieved our objective. Let’s retreat.” Yi Tong glanced at his watch; the shattered dial beat stiffly, like a dying heart. “If we don’t leave now, things will get complicated once the V Group arrives.”
Not far away, a mysterious green ray of light slowly emerged from behind a solitary tree trunk… it was Abu, who had disappeared from the beginning. He removed his helmet from his armor and walked towards Mus, who was surrounded by numerous knights.
“Since you have agreed to an equal exchange, I hope you will keep your promise and let the rest go.” Abu raised his head and stared at Mus.
Upon hearing this, Mus first winked at Yeman, signaling her to take the unconscious Sharp away. Then, he said to Abu with interest, "Are you negotiating with me, you little information broker?"
“You were originally a pet working for the V Group, and you followed them all the way to this place. Isn’t all of this happening because of your leaked information?” Mus exposed.
Hearing this, Abu felt ashamed and could only avoid the question by remaining silent.
"Our goals are different, but your boss seems to be planning something outrageous? Once this collaboration is over, it looks like I'll need to pay him a visit in town..."
"You want to start a war between humans and the deer tribe?!" Abu asked belatedly.
"The war started more than a decade ago, little kitty. Now we're just returning the favor—" With that, Mus turned his back and summoned his golden antlers. A dazzling beam of light descended from below, enveloping Mus and the other knights, instantly taking them away.
And so, they came without a trace and went without a trace, leaving nothing behind.
"Abu! Come here quickly!" Naling's shout came from afar. Abu twitched his ears and immediately rushed back on all fours.
Seeing Zhao Lin lying in Na Ling's arms, her body ice-cold and her face as white as a corpse in a morgue, Abu bit his paw in annoyance.
An apology is completely useless now...
"I...I'll go call an ambulance." Looking at the soil stained crimson with blood, Abu seemed somewhat at a loss.
"An ambulance? No need, there's a doctor right here—" A voice full of mockery suddenly rang out, instantly breaking the oppressive atmosphere.
Accompanied by a chilling laugh, a staggering figure appeared in Na Ling's field of vision. Upon recognizing the person, Na Ling's heart was filled with turmoil.
The staggering figure approaching was none other than the long-deceased Anar Lefebvre, and the people she had been abducting along the way left Naling speechless—
“Naya?!” Na Ling’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Lefie's face contorted in a grimace as he gripped a syringe filled with unpurified purple star, the needle pressed firmly against Naya's vulnerable carotid artery. With just a little force, it would easily pierce her skin and inject the deadly venom.
“Sisters reunited...what a beautiful night~but it’s going to be ruined…” Lefie said smugly, deliberately twisting her wrist so that the needle tip would penetrate a little deeper into her skin.
Naya frowned and let out a soft groan.
Na Ling was already utterly exhausted. Already on the verge of collapse, she was now utterly helpless. Her internal energy was depleted, Sharp had been captured by the enemy, and to make matters worse, Zhao Lin beneath her was in critical condition…
“This scoundrel…” Na Ling murmured to herself.
After gently placing Zhao Lin on the ground, she drew out her only weapon—the dagger that both sisters possessed.
The blade of the dagger is meticulously hand-polished, making it an absolutely deadly weapon in close combat.
Seeing the final moment arrive, Lefebvre smiled with relief. Perhaps it was because Moose had ruthlessly abandoned her, or because she had been used as a pitiful experimental subject by Eton, or even abandoned here like trash to clean up this mess... all these unbearable experiences were too much for Lefebvre to bear. Her sanity completely collapsed, leaving only the obsession with revenge.
"Kill her!"
At her command, the few remaining cavalrymen behind her charged toward Naling.
"Boom!"
Like a tiger unleashed from its cage, Na Ling knocked over the first person who charged at him with a single punch. The helmet on his head couldn't withstand the weight and shattered.
Immediately afterward, Na Ling dodged the attack from behind and kicked the man's leg, breaking it. With a crisp crack, the man screamed and fell to the ground, completely incapacitated.
She felt as if she had returned to those war-torn years… On the battlefields of the Great War, Na Ling led his cavalry suicide squad, halting the enemy tanks' advance up the hills. Every step forward was paved with blood and sacrifice. For every soldier who fell, countless others like him would rise to fill the gaps and continue the charge…
Is she afraid of death? Of course she isn't.
But now, Naling is no longer facing the humans who plundered her homeland, but her own people.
In the blink of an eye, the fourth soldier rushed in front of her. After a series of fierce battles, Na Ling's already dwindling strength was completely exhausted. Her dagger had been knocked from her hand at some point, so she could only hold tightly to the soldier's thick waist and keep punching his unarmored ribs.
The tall cavalryman easily broke free from Na Ling's restraints, and with a forceful swing of his hands, slammed Na Ling to the ground.
The excruciating pain made it almost impossible for her to breathe. Na Ling braced herself on all fours, let out a roar, and staggered to her feet again.
"Sister!!" Naya, who was standing to the side, was extremely anxious when she saw her sister's miserable state, but she was powerless to help.
The heart-wrenching screams of her younger sister shattered Na Ling's mental defenses, becoming her final motivation to fight to the death. Na Ling gathered all her remaining strength in her arms and charged towards the enemy before her.
In the instant of close combat, relying on her years of experience and intuition honed through life-or-death battles, she swiftly located her opponent's most vulnerable point—the neck. She thrust her dagger towards his throat.
However, it wasn't just the person knocked to the ground by Na Ling who was bleeding profusely.
With a scream, a piercing pain suddenly shot through Na Ling's back and pierced her body.
The cunning and treacherous Lefie somehow managed to circle behind Naling unnoticed, and while she was focused on attacking the enemy in front of her, he delivered a fatal blow to the brave and fearless warrior.
The merciless blade pierced through Na Ling's abdomen, drawing a trail of thick blood that traced a shocking parabola in the air before splattering onto the ground.
"You, who have always been so competitive and assertive, have ultimately been defeated by me, this so-called 'weakling'," Lefie whispered in Naling's ear.
Despite such a blow, Na Ling's indomitable heart continues to beat tenaciously.
“I’m afraid… I’m going to disappoint you.” Na Ling smiled bitterly, enduring the sharp pain in her abdomen, and turned around to forcefully plunge the dagger into the chest of Anar Lefève, who was standing behind her.
But she no longer had the strength to push the blade deeper into the other's heart.
Blood and purple starlight mingled and dripped from Lefie's mouth as she used her body to support Naling, who was about to collapse.
As expected, this battle, driven by self-interest, ended in a lose-lose situation.
Lefère bit her lip, forcing out a few words through gritted teeth: "See you in hell..."
She pushed Na Ling away, savoring the feeling of life slipping through her body, and reached out to stroke the hilt of the dagger stuck in her chest.
Losing her support, Naling collapsed to the ground, her vision instantly replaced by the pitch-black night sky. The cold wind of the early morning swept across the land, making it all the more desolate. Just then, she saw Naya scrambling towards her, followed closely by a bald man with an unfamiliar face.
Blood flowed into his eyes.
Naya tightly embraced her sister's lifeless head, her body trembling uncontrollably with extreme grief. She never imagined that she would see her loved ones again in such a tragic scene.
In just a few short hours, fate went mad, ruthlessly taking everything Naya possessed, leaving only this cold reality.
"Sister, don't leave me, please don't leave me..."
No matter how much she pleaded, Na Ling in her arms did not respond at all. Due to excessive blood loss, she had already fallen into a deep shock.
Flames surged and crackled around them. In this endless sea of fire, the two sisters, huddled together, appeared so small, as if they could be annihilated at any moment.
The heavy rain had stopped sometime earlier, and the sky was beginning to lighten, with a dim white light surging forth.
