"It's nothing." My heart skipped a beat, and I blurted out instinctively.

I regretted it as soon as I finished speaking. I answered too quickly and hastily, which clearly showed that I was feeling guilty.

Ge Zeyu stared intently at me. "Jiang Wanying, you have a secret."

His gaze was so sharp, it seemed he could see right through me.

"What secrets could I possibly have?"

I shook my head, trying to play dumb and get away with it, but I didn't expect Ge Zeyu to step forward and grab my wrist, his tone firm, "You're lying, Jiang Wanying, you definitely have a secret!"

I lowered my eyes and tried to pull my wrist away, but I couldn't.

He kept thinking about how to cover this up.

Before I could answer, Ge Zeyu bent down and leaned closer. "I remember you used to be chasing after Song Chenhao all the time. How did you suddenly change your mind and even sponsor someone else? You would never have been this shrewd before. When did this change start? It seems like it was..."

As he spoke more and more, my heart trembled. I even had the feeling that he already knew everything. Under this pressure, I wanted nothing more than to reveal all the truth.

I opened my lips, about to speak, when I heard sparse sounds coming from outside the door.

Hearing the commotion outside, Ge Zeyu turned his head to look.

I instantly breathed a sigh of relief, quickly took two steps back to create some distance between myself and him, asking who was outside the door as I went to open it.

The door opened, and I saw Bian Jiahui suddenly turn around and prepare to leave.

"Bian Jiahui!" My face instantly turned cold when I saw it was her. "What are you doing, sneaking around my room door?"

She stopped abruptly as she turned around, her eyes flickering slightly. "Uncle Jiang asked me to come up here to do my homework with you, and also to have Brother Zeyu explain the problems."

After she finished speaking, she looked up at me, then lowered her eyes. "I just went upstairs and heard you two talking inside, so I thought I'd go downstairs and wait for you."

This attempt to cover up her true intentions only confirmed that she had been eavesdropping.

I stared at her coldly, watching as the composure on her face gradually disappeared, replaced by embarrassment.

She quickly turned to Ge Zeyu and said, "Brother Zeyu, if you're done talking, I'll come in and explain the questions to you."

Ge Zeyu didn't even glance at her, saying, "I don't remember my mom giving birth to a younger sister."

Bian Jiahui's face instantly turned red, and then she pretended to explain that she was just being polite and had no other intentions.

If Ge Zeyu doesn't like it, then she will call him "Classmate Ge" from now on.

As I listened, the words seemed vaguely familiar. Upon reflection, I realized that she had often said similar things to Song Chenhao before.

She had just arrived at this family home with her mother, and in order to get closer to them, she used this tactic of retreating to advance, which gradually increased Song Chenhao's affection for her.

Unexpectedly, she even wanted to use this method to win over Ge Zeyu.

I glanced at Ge Zeyu and saw him frowning, looking impatient, and saying bluntly, "I really don't like it, so don't call me that anymore."

After saying that, he added, "The tutors in my family are all at least professor level. Do you think you're better than them?"

Bian Jiahui's face turned pale and then red, and she couldn't utter a single word of denial.

Ge Zeyu showed him no mercy, and Bian Jiahui immediately lowered her head when she met his gaze.

However, I underestimated her shamelessness. Ge Zeyu had already said so much, and after hesitating for a moment, she still sat down at the desk.

"Then I'll stay and explain the problem to Wanwan. It's been a long time since I tutored her, and I'm worried that she'll fall behind in her studies."

Unable to win Ge Zeyu's favor, he simply used me as an excuse.

I stood to the side without moving, watching her awkwardly holding her books, not knowing what to do. After a long while, I finally asked her, "Aunt Su Qing asked us to come up here to do our homework and chat so that we could build a relationship. Are you staying here to tutor me because you want to be a third wheel?"

Seeing that she wanted to retort, I didn't give her a chance to speak and continued, "Or is it that you used to like Song Chenhao, and you often came to join in the fun, and you were even closer to him than I was? Now everyone at school is saying that you two are a couple. Now that I don't like Song Chenhao anymore and am dating Ge Zeyu, you still come to join in. You can't be the only one who likes me and you want to steal someone away from me, can you?"

Bian Jiahui immediately turned to look at Ge Zeyu, her face showing a wronged expression. "Wanwan, how could you think of me like that? I was just worried that you wouldn't be able to keep up with your studies. I hope you can get into a good university. Didn't you say before..."

Before she could finish speaking, I impatiently interrupted her. I could easily guess that it was the same old story again.

They said I used to chase after Song Chenhao, wanting to go to the same university as him.

"Whether you think so or not, please leave now. I don't want to see you here. The necklace matter hasn't been investigated yet, so please don't come into my room casually in the future."

She walked slowly to the door, deliberately putting on a resolute look, and said that I really misunderstood her, that she had no intention of poaching my wife, and that she had not taken my things.

I didn't respond with a single word, and slammed the door shut right in front of her.

Turning around, I saw Ge Zeyu raise an eyebrow at me, his tone slightly raised in a teasing tone, "Your brain has finally become smarter."

I was about to retort, "Weren't you smart before?" But I swallowed the words back. I was indeed quite stupid to have been completely fooled before.

"Isn't it good to become smarter?" I asked back, but Ge Zeyu didn't say anything.

He stayed upstairs for a while, and before leaving, he specifically told me to study hard and not hold him back.

Aunt Su Qing didn't stay for dinner. We chatted for a while, and then my mom and I saw them off at the door.

When I came back, I saw Bian Jiahui's figure flash by on the second floor, which reminded me of the tutoring incident.

"Mom, there's something I want to discuss with you."

I said that Ge Zeyu is very smart. He handed in blank papers at school because he was too lazy to do the questions, but in fact he knows everything he studies.

“He promised me that he would study and do exercises with me from now on. We also agreed to go to the same university in the future, so Bian Jiahui won’t need to tutor me anymore.”

When my mother heard me say that, she hesitated for a moment, but still nodded, indicating that it was a good thing that I was ambitious and that she was also pleased that my relationship with Ge Zeyu had improved.

I snuggled into my mother's arms, hugging her waist affectionately, and then casually reminded her, "Mom, I don't need Bian Jiahui to tutor me anymore, so you don't need to give her the 20,000 yuan living expenses you used to give her every month."

Hearing this, she lowered her head and stared into my eyes, asking softly, "Wanwan, did something happen between you and Jia Hui? You two weren't always on good terms before."
