Nine Yang Life and Death Transformation
Chapter 33 Escape
Wu Feilong glanced around and spotted a glimmer of hope in the treetop. Without hesitation, he spurred his flying sword toward the treetop. But to his surprise, the man-eating ants reacted faster than he could have imagined; they reached the top of the treetop first and surrounded Wu Feilong.
At this critical moment, an invisible spider web silently appeared, trapping the numerous carnivorous ants like a net from heaven. The ants were terrified and struggled desperately, but no matter how hard they tried, they could not break free from the powerful restraints of the spider web.
Immediately afterwards, a large black widow spider slowly crawled up the web, its ferocious abdomen continuously spraying out thick strands of silk. In the blink of an eye, the trapped man-eating ants were wrapped up tightly into "zongzi" (rice dumplings).
Seeing that all escape routes were blocked, Wu Feilong steeled his resolve and steered his flying sword away. In an instant, thousands upon thousands of man-eating ants pursued relentlessly, forming a terrifying, dark tidal wave. Wu Feilong remained completely focused, not daring to be careless in the slightest, skillfully maneuvering his flying sword to weave rapidly through the dense forest.
After a desperate escape that stretched for kilometers, a wide river finally appeared before them. The river was at least a hundred meters wide, its waters flowing gently and shimmering in the sunlight. Remembering the man-eating ants' fear of water, Wu Feilong didn't hesitate for a moment. He took a deep breath and plunged headfirst into the icy, bone-chilling river.
On the wide river, a swarm of terrifying man-eating ants hovered densely, like a black cloud covering the water. Wu Feilong submerged and swam downstream. After traveling several kilometers, he finally mustered the courage to cautiously peek out to check what was behind him. Only when he confirmed that no man-eating ants were chasing him did his heart finally relax a little.
However, at this moment, the current became even more rapid, roaring and charging like a ferocious beast. Wu Feilong was helplessly swept downstream by the current. Just then, to his horror, he discovered a towering, steep waterfall ahead! The enormous drop and the thunderous roar of the water filled him with despair. It was too late to escape; in the blink of an eye, he was swept away by the surging water, plunging straight into the bottomless pool.
Struggling to the surface, Wu Feilong gasped for breath, cautiously looking around. Luckily, he didn't find any potential danger. But just then, his stomach rumbled loudly. Without hesitation, Wu Feilong plunged back into the water and, with his agility, quickly caught several plump fish. Then, carrying his spoils, he climbed onto the riverbank, ready to enjoy a hearty picnic.
Having watched numerous wilderness survival shows, Wu Feilong was quite experienced in surviving in the wild. He knew that to survive here long-term, simply solving the problems of food and water was far from enough; he had to find a safe and comfortable shelter as soon as possible.
So he began to carefully examine his surroundings, and his efforts paid off; he eventually discovered a hidden cave beneath the waterfall. Inside, apart from some tangled weeds growing on the ground, there was nothing else of note. However, for the current situation, this cave was a fairly decent temporary shelter.
Wu Feilong fed himself and drank his fill, then lay down in the cave to rest and recover. Just as he was drifting off to sleep, he suddenly heard a faint cry for help from outside: "Help!" The sound was intermittent, seemingly partially drowned out by the roar of the waterfall. Wu Feilong instantly woke up, rushed out of the cave, and looked in the direction of the sound. He saw, on a huge spiderweb not far away, a massive black widow spider spraying sticky silk at a poor girl. The girl's lower body was tightly wrapped up like a dumpling, completely unable to move.
With a grave expression, Wu Feilong retrieved the incredibly powerful siege crossbow, his gaze fixed intently on the menacing Black Widow not far away. He took a deep breath, steadily raised the crossbow, aimed, and pulled the trigger without hesitation. With a whoosh, the bolt shot through the air like lightning, carrying a sharp momentum straight towards the Black Widow.
In an instant, the crossbow bolt struck Black Widow squarely in the abdomen. Black Widow let out a piercing scream, her massive body instantly losing its balance and plummeting heavily from the intricately woven net. The bolt pierced a large hole in her hard shell, from which black liquid gushed, emitting a nauseating stench. But Black Widow was not dead; her thick, long legs continued to thrash and struggle desperately, trying to rise again.
Seeing this, Wu Feilong quickly stepped forward. A flash of cold light appeared in his longsword, and with a swift movement, the Black Widow's hideous head separated from her body and rolled to the side. At this point, the terrifying monster finally ceased to move completely.
After dealing with Black Widow, Wu Feilong leaped into the air, wielding his sword and swiftly severing all the incredibly tough spider silk. The three trapped individuals were finally freed.
The woman standing in the middle had skin as fair as snow and looked to be about eighteen years old, like a delicate flower bud about to bloom. She wore a gorgeous dress embroidered with exquisite patterns. The quality of the materials and the fineness of the workmanship made it clear at a glance that she was no ordinary person.
She stepped forward gracefully, gave a slight bow, and introduced herself: "I am Mu Yao from Mu Chun Tang, and these two beside me are my attendants, Ma Long and Ma Hu. I am deeply grateful for your help today, young master. May I ask your honorable name?"
Wu Feilong clasped his hands in response and said, "I am Sun Kang of the Heavenly Sword Sect."
Upon hearing the name "Muchuntang," Wu Feilong, who had been calm, suddenly had his eyes light up and became excited. He abruptly reached out and grabbed Mu Yao's wrist tightly, asking eagerly, "May I ask if Miss knows of a person in your sect named Zhang Daojing, the 'Miraculous Healer'?"
Seeing their young lady being treated so rudely, Ma Long and Ma Hu were instantly enraged. They both drew their swords and shouted in unison, "Insolence! Release our young lady at once!"
Despite their rebukes, Wu Feilong remained unmoved, his eyes fixed on Mu Yao, awaiting her answer. Mu Yao paused slightly, then said softly, "Young Master, Zhang Daojing is an elder of our sect. But may I ask what business you have with him?"
Wu Feilong realized he had lost his composure and released his grip, explaining, "My mother has an eye ailment and has seen countless renowned doctors, but none of them could cure her, so we are searching everywhere for a miracle doctor."
