I was transported from Lobotomy Corporation to another world.

Chapter 8: We've entered the small town!

After a brief pause, the villagers loaded the two bodies onto a wooden cart and transported them back to the village.

Four villagers were responsible for taking two corpses back to the village on a wooden cart.

The villagers were all in low spirits; through their accounts, they learned about the two dead villagers.

One person is named Li Yifeng and the other is named Zhao Lei.

Zhao Lei's parents were still at home. Four villagers were responsible for transporting the body and had no idea how to explain the situation to the other family.

Li Yifeng's case is easy to handle; just bury the body in a good place.

He had no relatives or home; he was a vagrant in the village. But he would help villagers harvest wheat and do other chores in exchange for money, and he never stole or robbed.

They loaded the body onto the wooden cart, wrapped it up, and then the four villagers drove the cart back to the village.

The remaining villagers still need to go to the city to sell their goods.

None of the villagers searched for the robber's body, since Reed was the one who killed him.

Reid did indeed search the robber's body thoroughly, finding some of this world's currency on the corpse.

Some of them were the same seashells as the ones they carried.

Another type is a shell that is larger than the shell on your own body.

Finally, they found four round copper coins, each marked with some symbols.

This must be copper coins, probably the currency of this world, but more valuable than seashells.

Red compiled a list of items he considered to be the world's currency.

Seashells, large seashells, copper coins

So Red took the robber's money bag with him, and then rummaged through the robber's other belongings.

First, there's the robber's pistol. Although it's a pistol, it's not the modern kind.

It looked somewhat like a flintlock pistol. Reed picked it up and examined it for a moment.

It really is a flintlock musket, only it looks cooler and reloads faster.

However, only one can be inserted at a time; after one is used up, it must be re-inserted.

The bullets in this gun look somewhat like marbles, except they're made of copper.

Reed decided to get himself two ranged weapons; he couldn't possibly use the Darkness to attack people every time, could he?

If we encounter some weaklings, wouldn't this be like using a cannon to kill a mosquito?

Besides, I don't have any ranged weapons on me anyway, so taking two won't hurt.

Reed took two pistols and some bullet pouches, then set his sights on the robber's leather coat.

"This leather coat is really cool, and I look so attractive in this suit."

Then Reed took off his leather coat and patted it off.

Then I put it on, looked down at it, and it fit perfectly.

The villagers behind them didn't even notice; they were still dealing with the two corpses.

By the time the villagers finished dealing with their issues and set off again, Reed had also gotten ready.

For the rest of the journey, the villagers were astonished to find that Red had actually taken off the bandits' clothes and was wearing them.

Aren't nobles supposed to be very clean? And these clothes...

Although I thought that way, I didn't dare to ask.

Some of the bolder ones went up to ask Reed how he had gotten that big knife and clothes.

Red's subsequent unanimous response was, "It's magic."

Next, when the villagers asked him about matters concerning themselves, he gave them only perfunctory answers.

Reed was simply too lazy to tell them; explaining it to them would be too much trouble.

Do I have to start from when I joined the company?

The rest of the journey was safe, and we didn't encounter any robbers...

As the sun slowly rose, the road to the town drew ever closer.

Meanwhile, other caravans and pedestrians were also seen along the way.

Reed became interested in these pedestrians; some carried knives, others bows and arrows.

After about two hours, we finally arrived at the entrance to the town.

The town entrance was bustling with activity, as many people were entering the town.

Just then, several guards in armor were checking and verifying information outside the gate.

Reed planned to see if there were any other races besides humans.

I looked around and found nothing, which was a little disappointing.

There was a queue to enter the town, and Reed was behind the villagers in line.

Fortunately, there were many security guards; each guard formed a separate queue.

Soon they arrived at the village, and Reed wanted to see how the gatekeeper would let people into the town.

The villager took out a piece of parchment and gave it to the gatekeeper. The gatekeeper took it, looked at it, and waved it away.

The gatekeeper then glanced at the wooden cart behind him, casually looked through it a few times, and waved his hand.

The villagers then pulled their wooden carts into the city.

"Huh, do we even need an ID card?" Reed muttered under his breath.

"That's true... without ID cards, things would probably be in complete chaos."

But I don't have such a thing!

Reed was getting anxious because it was almost his turn.

Reed instinctively searched his body and patted something soft on his skin.

He reached into the pocket of his leather coat and took out...

Upon closer inspection of the parchment, she realized she was saved.

This parchment contains some verification information similar to an ID card, and it happens to have a name on it: Zalek.

This parchment appears to belong to this bandit named Zalek.

I never expected to be so lucky. It's my own fault for not checking what was inside my clothes more carefully.

However, there is another drawback: the parchment has a large portrait of someone named Zalek.

Although it wasn't very clear, I could tell that my face wasn't the same person's when I compared it to the one on the parchment.

But this is easy to solve! I have a way!

"Alright, next one!" After inspecting the last wooden cart, the gatekeeper waved for the villagers to pull it inside.

He yawned with his eyes closed, then turned to face the next person.

"Next, take out your information paper... Holy crap!"

The security guard turned around with his eyes closed and saw a person with bandages around their eyes, wearing a red mask with sharp teeth.

And his clothes made him look like a bad person. Then the other person handed over the information paper in his hand.

"for you……"

The gatekeeper trembled upon hearing this.

The voice was somewhat heavy and imposing, but you could tell it belonged to a young person. However, I don't know why, but even just from the voice, I could sense the other person's strength.

The security guard, feeling overwhelmed by the other party's intimidating presence, glanced at the information sheet perfunctorily, then put on a different, smiling face and said...

"Big brother, everything's checked, you can go in now!"

The security guard then returned the information sheet and nodded, indicating that the person could enter.

Reid was somewhat surprised that the villagers before him seemed to be checking things very carefully, but he was just pretending when it came to checking.

Does this mean they don't want to talk to me? Well, that's fine.

It would be bad if the other party noticed anything amiss.

Reed retrieved the information sheet, and the security guard made way for him.

Reed strode inside.

The security guard is now checking the information while looking back.

This is what the gatekeeper was thinking.

Why is that person's eye bandaged? And yet they can still see clearly!

And how many people are wearing masks like his? And there's a rule for entering the town.

We must verify the information sheet and the person's photo; the security guard didn't do that just now.

Because I felt the other person was not someone to be trifled with, I wanted them to take it off.

Afraid of being killed by the other party

Now that I think about it, I feel a little regretful. With so many of us here, would the other side dare to kill me?

Besides, who covers their face so thoroughly? What if this person is deliberately causing trouble inside with their face covered?

The more the security guard thought about it, the more flustered and guilty he became.

After all, it was I who asked the other person to go in; if I revealed it, I would still be punished.

But if we don't tell anyone, and the other person causes trouble inside, someone will definitely find out that we were the one who sent that person in.

Those might have suffered even more! Perhaps even had to die to atone for their sins!

The security guards are so upset that they can't even do their jobs properly.

He asked a colleague who wasn't on duty yet to cover for him, and planned to turn himself in directly, explaining the strange bandaged man's entry into the city.

If Reed knew this, he'd probably be completely dumbfounded.

That was something Red specifically said from the side.

-_-|| "Dude, how could you imagine things like that?"
