"What?! What happened to him?" Rena was terrified and hid behind Reed.

Red, however, remained calm and instead sensed something was amiss.

The data doesn't record any instances of affected individuals attacking others.

Although Red sometimes struggles to think straight, he understands things instantly in this situation.

It's probably because the abnormality didn't have a suppressor. If the original abnormality were in a prison that would weaken it...

Arriving here is tantamount to being free, so their strength will definitely increase.

Reed has two points he can't understand.

First: What happens when an Abnormality regains its ability to function? Will its appearance change? Will it gain new skills? Or will it develop [thought and communication abilities?]

As a long-time employee, Reed observed that although the Abnormal Being seemed to have its own thoughts, Reed felt that it didn't.

Red sometimes didn't even see the Abnormalities as monsters; even monsters have their own thoughts.

The abnormal entity is like a machine, fed the prescribed food, cleaned the prescribed room, and communicated with hundreds of times.

The aberrations wouldn't notice anything; no matter how many times they heard the content, it wouldn't change in any way.

But if the aberrations are now free, will they still be the same as before?

Second: How did the anomaly arrive here? Or how did it travel to this place?

Surely they didn't just slip and fall and end up here like I did, right?

Reina tugged at Reed's clothes. "Reed, what's wrong with this guy?"

Reed strode up to the blind man, and Rena, clinging to his clothes, was forced to follow.

Everyone was drawn to Red's unusual attire and turned to look at him.

Reed examined the corpse's condition and said, "He was influenced by [schadenfreude]."

The previously noisy sounds instantly quieted down.

After Reed said that, the commotion started again.

"Schadenfreude? What is that?"

"This seems to be an idiom, doesn't it?"

"He said that some kind of monster called 'Lucky Misfortune'? Does that mean this person will be affected by that monster?"

"I've never heard of such a monster before. Is this person just making things up?"

"Although I don't believe it either, I've never seen this person's symptoms before. I guess the only explanation is the gloating tone in that person's voice."

Everyone is discussing it, mostly with confusion, and a small number of people don't believe it.

Rena tugged at Reed's sleeve and asked, "And then?"

Reed continued, "[Schadenfreude] Strange creature. Anyone who has seen its eyes will develop these symptoms." Reed then pointed to the eyeless corpse lying on the ground.

"During the process, the victim may experience symptoms similar to masochism, and feel uneasy and as if something is watching them when they see certain nooks and crannies."

As soon as Reed finished speaking, a hand shot up from the crowd, and someone shouted, "That's right! My friend is in the same situation!"

A young man raised his hand, and the crowd parted to reveal his body.

The young man continued, "My friend and I originally accepted a mission to crack down on a cult, but we failed and ran away!"

"But for some reason, every next day my friend says something is watching him. At first, my friend could still speak normally."

"But as time went on, my friend became increasingly abnormal. He filled every corner of his house with clothes, paper, planks, and even bread!"

"At that time, I took him to the Holy Healing Hall, but it didn't work. I also went to other places that could heal wounds, but it didn't work either!"

"I'm out here now to think of other solutions," the young man said, his face clearly showing signs of fatigue.

Red asked the young man, "Didn't you encounter a creature resembling an iron box?"

After hearing this, the young man thought for a moment and said, "No, at least I haven't seen it. I also asked my friend if he had seen anything."

"But my friend said he saw it, and when I asked him to describe it, he said he didn't know."

After hearing this, Reed was completely bewildered. Did his friend actually see the [gloating]?

It's impossible that he saw it and then forgot about it.

No! That's actually possible!

Red seemed to consider a possibility: could those who saw him suffer from amnesia? But the aftereffects would still remain.

Then, the young man came to Reed and knelt down on the spot.

"Please! You seem to know a lot about my friend's situation! Can you help him? Or can you tell me how to help him?!"

Looking at the kneeling youth, Reed frantically recalled the information he had read.

This symptom doesn't seem to exist. To be precise, this symptom only has lasting effects on lower-level employees; Yumi is an example of this.

Yumi is an employee of Lobotomy Corporation. Due to her failure to follow the work rules regarding this anomaly, she developed aftereffects.

Finally, an employee found Yumi, who had lost her eyesight, laughing hysterically in her staff dormitory.

After that, Reid never saw Yumi again.

Red had actually seen the gloating look in her eyes, probably because he was a level five employee.

The anxiety symptoms lasted only one day, after which everything returned to normal, with no lasting effects.

Red couldn't think of a way to treat this disease that had already been contracted.

The company tried to save him, but it was to no avail; he remained insane and died as before.

Reed could only shake his head.

"It's incurable; his current condition is beyond saving."

The young man, upon hearing this, did not blame Reed; instead, he took the medicine and sobbed softly.

"Make way! Make way!" Security personnel rushed to the scene.

They then began evacuating the crowd, examining the body, and questioning Reid.

The sheriff approached Reed and asked the most conspicuous man, "Excuse me... is this... a lady?"

"Pfft!" Rena, hiding behind Reed, covered her mouth with one hand, trying her best not to laugh.

Reid was speechless. If this world didn't seem so safe, he'd probably punch the guy right away.

“I’m a man…” Reed’s voice was tinged with anger.

This startled the security captain, who quickly apologized.

The following conversation involves the sheriff asking Reed about the symptoms of the corpse.

Reed repeated what he had just said.

The sheriff then asked some other questions, but Reed didn't bother listening and gave very perfunctory answers.

Rena could only stand up and answer for Reed.

"Okay, thank you for the information. I'll inform the higher-ups soon." The security captain also realized the gravity of the situation and learned about the cult's attack on the town.

After assigning duties to his team members, the security captain quickly prepared to inform the higher-ups.

"Looks like we don't need to trouble Lisa," Rena said, watching the security captain run off into the distance.

Red stood motionless, looking like a statue to anyone who didn't know him.

Red was actually using his brilliant mind to frantically think of information about this creature [schadenfreude].

"Rena! Redna! What are you doing here?" A female voice entered my mind.

The two turned their heads to look

Rena greeted her with a smile, "Lisa! What brings you here? Aren't you supposed to be working?"

Anlisa flicked her blonde hair, put her hands on her hips, and said, "I don't know what got into that old minister today, he gave us all three days off!"

Anlisa saw Reed standing motionless again, went up to him and patted him on the shoulder. "Hey, Reed, if you're going to play the role of a statue, at least put on some wax first, right?"

Reed shook off Anlisa's hand and continued standing.

Anlisa quickly covered her hand, clearly hurt from Reed's shove.

"Ugh! Can't you be a little gentler?" Anlisa said, a little annoyed.

Rena quickly stopped Anlisa, then pointed to the corpse lying on the ground in front of her.

Rena approached Anlisa and said, "Lisa, we have something important to tell you."
