The way people around Chen Qian looked at him changed repeatedly.

He received more warmth from the old man than from his biological parents.

Chen Hao nodded reservedly, "I haven't formally become an apprentice yet. I'll call you that when I officially become an apprentice."

He looked the old man over again. He was dressed simply and looked like a country old man. How could he know Principal Zhang from Licheng?

“How could I possibly be qualified to know this person…” Principal Zhang noticed the old man’s gaze and quickly changed the subject. “Well, I have to go now. Let’s talk again next time.”

Chen Hao was even more bewildered as he watched Principal Zhang leave in a hurry.

However, he didn't delve into it further, but instead turned to look at the old man and Lu Jiaqi, "How did you two run into each other?"

Chen Hao watched his retreating figure and muttered softly, "So mysterious."

He then turned to Lu Jiaqi and said, "Thank you for today."

"You're welcome," Lu Jiaqi replied softly, bowing her head.

For a moment, the two remained silent.

Gu Xingzhou, watching anxiously from the side, urged, "Brother Hao, class is starting, hurry up and take Miss Lu inside."

"Oh!" Chen Hao responded, then looked at Lu Jiaqi apologetically, "Sorry for making you late."

"It's okay, I know all the lessons the teacher teaches. It's alright if I'm late," Lu Jiaqi replied softly, her face flushed.

Chen Hao stood blankly beside Lu Jiaqi, walking alongside her on the road leading to the senior high school building.

Gu Xingzhou followed at a distance. Seeing that the two did not speak, he became anxious, but he could not intervene. It was so frustrating.

He was secretly anxious. Why was Brother Hao so unfunny?

The troubles brought about by the adoptive parents were smoothly overcome thanks to the arrival of the old man.
