In a later Toyota vehicle, the engine oil level increased because during cold starts in winter, the gasoline injected directly into the cylinders didn't burn completely and slid down the cylinder walls into the oil pan, causing the oil to become too high. The solution was simple: change the oil dipstick. If you can't fix the engine, you can at least change the dipstick.

At the same time, without the flushing effect of manifold injection, the intake valve pushrods are also prone to carbon buildup. Direct injection engines have a much higher rate of carbon buildup than manifold injection engines precisely because of this drawback.

Therefore, the most advanced engine combines the two!

Use port injection when the engine is cold, and switch to direct injection after the engine is warm!
