Corpse Brother: From Calabash Brothers to Corpse Emperor

Chapter 19 Devouring the Two-Headed Gecko Corpse Brother

As the building's roar intensified, the ceiling began to collapse.

The broken stones pounded against the floor with a thud, and a thick layer of dust filled the air.

Luo Heng quietly hid under the bed, chewing the last few kernels of popcorn, and thought to himself:

"Let the building collapse if it wants. Anyway, I'm staying put. As long as I don't make any sudden moves, I'll be fine."

However, a thought suddenly flashed through his mind—

If the bed collapses, wouldn't he... be crushed like a cookie?

"Depend on!"

Luo Heng sat up instantly, cold sweat pouring down his back. "How could I not have thought of that!"

He frantically scrambled out, crawling out from under the bed on all fours.

Sure enough, the very next second after he climbed out, the bed collapsed with a crash, crushed into flat scrap metal by the falling stones.

Luo Heng wiped away imaginary sweat from his forehead and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Luckily I ran fast, otherwise I would be a corpse pancake by now."

However, his relief lasted less than two seconds before a cracking sound came from the ceiling, and several huge stones crashed down instantly.

"Fuck!"

Luo Heng had no time to dodge and was crushed by the rock.

He only had time to utter a low, somber sigh:

"As expected, we shouldn't be too happy too soon..."

Then, the building emitted a final, deafening roar, and the entire structure collapsed completely.

Countless rubble, dust, and ruins covered everything, and Luo Heng was buried in them.

When Luo Heng woke up from his coma, the moment he opened his eyes, he realized that he was buried in the ruins.

He tried to move his body, only to find that his legs were gone, leaving only his damaged lower body.

He looked down at his mutilated body. Although he felt no pain, he couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

"As expected, the power of the plot is terrifying... even the zombies can't escape it!"

He struggled to prop himself up, looked around, and tried to find a way to escape.

However, he quickly realized the key issue:

"Now that I've lost my legs, I need to recover as soon as possible, otherwise I won't be able to hold on in these ruins."

That two-headed gecko zombie's regenerative abilities are absolutely a lifesaver! If I eat it, my leg will grow back!

As Luo Heng muttered to himself, he used his hands to support himself on the ground and crawled with difficulty toward the outside of the ruins.

Dust filled the air. He gritted his teeth and moved his body inch by inch, constantly encouraging himself:

"As long as we find that gecko corpse, there is still hope!"

Suddenly, his ears caught a low voice talking from a corner not far away.

"Brother, look! That guy with the gourd on his head has woken up!"

"A gourd?" Another voice chuckled softly, with a hint of mockery.

"Oh, I remember now, I watched something like this when I was little, I think it was called... Black Cat Detective?"

Luo Heng paused for a moment, then slowly crawled over following the sound.

He held his breath and peered out through a crack, and sure enough, he saw a familiar figure—

The two-headed gecko corpse was not far away, one head looking at him, the other with a wicked grin on its face.

Luo Heng's eyes widened, his heart filled with excitement: "This is truly effortless! Heaven has smiled upon us! This time, we must eat it!"

Luo Heng crawled into a crevice in the ruins and saw the two-headed gecko corpse, pierced by steel bars and completely unable to move.

He couldn't help but exclaim, "Sure enough, following the main characters means you'll get what you deserve!"

Without hesitation, he crawled over and started biting the two-headed gecko corpse from its tail, intending to devour it quickly while it was powerless to resist.

However, just as he was enjoying his meal, the two-headed gecko zombie spoke again—

"Brother, that black cat police chief with a gourd on his head looks like he's eating us?"

"Mmm~ Mmm~ Mmm~" The other head's voice instantly became seductive, "If only we could start eating from our back door!"

Luo Heng nearly choked on his food, stopped what he was doing, and trembled with anger:

"What kind of bizarre world have I transmigrated into?! How come these zombies are all so outrageous?!"

He suppressed his anger, stretched out his hand and summoned a bolt of lightning, which struck directly at the rear of the two-headed gecko corpse.

"Snapped!"

A blinding flash of lightning streaked across the sky, and the air was filled with the smell of something roasting. The two-headed gecko-like zombie, however, let out a satisfied sound:

"This feels so good..."

Luo Heng's hand trembled, nearly severing the lightning. He stared dumbfounded at the scene before him, his mind reeling.

"What kind of twisted script is this?! Why are all these zombies acting so strangely?!"

He took a deep breath and tried to calm down.

Seeing that the two-headed gecko corpse was completely cooked and finally stopped making noise, he felt relieved and continued eating.

"I have to say, it does taste better when it's cooked."

Luo Heng gnawed on the roasted gecko corpse, muttering to himself as he ate.

After eating, he clearly felt a powerful energy surging through his body, and his broken leg regrowed at a speed visible to the naked eye, returning to its original state.

"awesome!"

Luo Heng looked at his leg with delight and couldn't help but jump twice to confirm that he had fully recovered.

However, at that moment, he suddenly sensed something strange behind him.

He turned around and found that there was a gecko tail behind him, swaying nimbly with his movements.

Luo Heng blushed instantly, clutching his tail in embarrassment.

"This...this is too weird! It can grow a tail after eating a zombie?"

He tried flicking his tail and found it to be surprisingly agile, even able to control small objects around him.

He lowered his head and pondered for a moment, then finally sighed helplessly:

"Well, at least the legs have grown back. As for the tail... consider it an extra bonus."

He stood up, composed himself, and silently climbed out of the ruins.

Luo Heng crawled out of the ruins, dusted himself off, looked around, and pondered:

"Next, we need to find that frog-like corpse as soon as possible."

Its abilities shouldn't be underestimated; if I swallow it, it might even make me stronger.

Not far away, Luo Heng saw the frog-like corpse.

It was squatting in a pile of ruins, intently catching mosquitoes around it, completely ignoring the instructions of the child on its back.

The child grabbed the frog's head tightly and kept shouting:

"Quack, listen to me! Stop eating mosquitoes and go catch those people who ran away!"

However, the frog ignored his orders, opening and closing its mouth to swallow mosquitoes as if its "delicious meal" was the only thing in the world.

Luo Heng, who was observing from the side, frowned upon seeing this scene and muttered to himself:

"Forget it, I'd better not eat it... This guy is too weird."

"If I eat it, and then I grow a blue body and ride a toad everywhere, that would be disgusting!"

Just as Luo Heng was about to leave, the frog-like zombie suddenly stopped, raised its head, and stared directly at Luo Heng.

It clearly regarded Luo Heng as an enemy who had come to steal its food, and a hint of anger flashed in its eyes.

"Quack! Stop eating mosquitoes, hurry up and kill him!"

The child on his back also looked at Luo Heng, and upon noticing his gourd-shaped haircut and newly grown tail, immediately showed a look of disgust:

"How ugly the Calabash Brothers are! They even have tails! Rumble, ribbit, kill them!"

Upon hearing the command, the frog-like corpse suddenly opened its mouth and spat out a large mouthful of green slime, flying straight towards Luo Heng.

Luo Heng dodged, narrowly avoiding being hit, and turned pale with anger.

"Good grief, I wasn't even going to talk to you, and you actually spat at me? That's so rude!"

He steadied himself, reached out and summoned a huge ball of electricity, arcs of electricity flickering in his palm, accompanied by a piercing "sizzling" sound.

"Today I'll let you experience the taste of an electric shock, kid. You need to learn what manners are!"

Luo Heng roared and threw the electric ball out violently.

"Snapped!"

The electric ball struck the frog-like zombie precisely, and a powerful electric current instantly enveloped its entire body.

The frog-like creature let out a scream, its limbs twitching as it flipped onto its back, instantly turning into a charred, roasted frog.

Luo Heng swaggered over, glanced at his brother, now turned into a roasted frog, and couldn't help but snort coldly:

"You rude jerk, spitting on me like that!"

He spat on the frog-like corpse a few times with a wicked grin, clapped his hands, and said with satisfaction:

"That's only fair."
