Since relatives were allowed to come and bid farewell, those who had heard the news arrived early. They searched for their loved ones, and after identifying them, they slipped silver to the guards, allowing them to give their families something and say a few words of farewell.

The escorts, having received bribes, would naturally do favors for them.

Those who had found the convenience immediately headed towards their pre-selected destinations; however, not everyone who came was moved by the sorrow and heartache for their loved ones who had suffered such a calamity.

The escort turned and glanced at Jun Yanchen and his companions, then pocketed the silver and waved to the man, "Hurry up, we should be setting off soon."

The man nodded in agreement obsequiously, then lifted a large bundle from the carriage and walked straight to Jun Yanchen's cart.

The others who witnessed this scene were surprised. They hadn't expected that even at this point, someone would still come to deliver something to the King of Anger. Some even looked on with hostility.

In fact, not only were the others surprised, but even some of Steward Li's own people were surprised, especially since Steward Li had never seen this person before and he was a complete stranger.

But the person did indeed walk up to them and placed two bulging bundles directly onto the cart.

Jun Yanchen seemed indifferent to all of this, his brows lowered, remaining motionless.

Before Butler Li could ask, the newcomer glanced at Jun Yanchen, then turned to Butler Li.

"Someone asked me to deliver some things to you. The bundle contains some food, medicine, and other basic necessities. I hope you have a safe journey ahead. There's some more in the carriage; I'll go fetch it."

They were a few people alone, already some distance from the other three families, and their voices were low, so all they saw was the newcomer placing the things on the cart and saying something to Steward Li.

Then the person quickly returned to the carriage, took a bundle and a simple quilt from it, placed them on the cart, seemed to glance at Jun Yanchen again, received no response, and then hurriedly left.

She then popped one of the chocolates into her mouth.

He placed another piece in Xia He's hand, saying, "Xia He, eat."

Xia He walked with her head slightly lowered, closely following her mistress's steps. Suddenly, her mistress handed her something. She instinctively took it, and her gaze towards her mistress was filled with confusion, especially when she glanced at the object in her hand.

What is this dark thing? Is it edible? Where did it come from?

"It's candy, eat it quickly," Gu Nanzhi had no choice but to explain.

Is this black stuff sugar?

Xia He was still puzzled, but seeing that her young mistress had already eaten, she chose to trust her. So, she glanced around to see if the other woman had noticed, and stuffed the whole piece into her mouth.

Seeing this, Gu Nanzhi couldn't help but think to herself, "Luckily, the piece of chocolate I had wasn't big; this little girl just stuffed it in one bite."

She put the remaining half into her mouth as well.

Xia He popped it into her mouth and chewed, immediately tasting the flavor. The first taste was slightly bitter, followed by a sweetness.

Her eyes lit up as she glanced at the young lady. Was it really candy? It was sweet, fragrant, and delicious.
