Welcome to the Misogyny Game
Chapter 35 "Acquaintances"
The squeaks of monkeys reached her ears, a black shadow brushed past her, followed by a barrage of fiery red arrows and the whooshing sound of bullets flying towards her face. Silenced pistols—aside from Conan, this was the first time she'd encountered one in a game.
Liu Chaoque bent over to dodge the disfiguring blow. Since it was a gunfight, Liu Chaoque waved his hand and said, "Isn't this a coincidence?"
The rifle shot out a burst of flames. There were no bullets, but the bullets traveled a great distance. The flames ignited upon contact with a person and could not be extinguished no matter how hard the fire was put out. In the end, the person was burned to a crisp.
It hurts the eyes.
It wasn't very harmful, but it was extremely humiliating. The man who was holding the gun touched his body and found that all the hair on his thighs had been burned off.
Oh, it can even melt weapons, but the recoil is really strong.
Liu Chaoque rolled several times to dodge the gunfire from the opposite side, then aimed at a man's hair, took several steps back, and the man, anticipating this, rolled away to avoid it.
A fire that cannot be extinguished, a fire that cannot be used for one's own benefit, is enough to suffer once.
A dozen or so people surrounded Liu Chaoque, but were intimidated by her strange weapon and dared not approach.
Liu Chaoque would occasionally seize an opportunity to fire a burst of bullets.
Squeak, squeak. "Daughter, I'm here to help you."
A brown-furred monkey leaped out from a branch and fearlessly pounced on a man. The man quickly shot at his own head, and Liu Chaoque unleashed a fire dragon, setting the man's hair ablaze.
"Monkey, kill the monkey first." The strange weapon didn't hurt anyone; at most, it would remove the weapon and leave the person naked. It was difficult to fight with bare hands, but the other side couldn't do anything to them either.
The monkey seems to have some connection with the woman who suddenly appeared; by using the monkey as leverage, she can be made to submit obediently.
They wanted to catch the monkey, and Liu Chaoque pointed his gun at them, but they used the monkey as a shield and held the gun to the monkey's head.
"Do you think my gun is faster, or yours?" It was supposed to be a long-range sniper rifle, but the recoil was so strong that Liu Chaoque was worried that before he could even take away the man's weapon, Uncle Monkey would be in heaven.
"Put down your weapon." The man used the monkey as leverage to command the court. Uncle Monkey knew he had done more harm than good and lowered his head in shame.
Ah, monkeys, used to being wild in the mountains and forests, their biggest scheming is stealing things from tourists.
Liu Chaoque sighed inwardly, put down his sniper rifle, and made a gesture of surrender.
"Kick the weapon over here," the man continued to instruct.
Liu Chaoque felt somewhat aggrieved, but he still did as instructed.
The man picked up the weapon, and pointed three guns at her.
"Whoosh." A black object suddenly appeared, bypassing Liu Chaoque and flying straight towards the man's face. The man couldn't dodge it immediately, and it grazed his ear, leaving a bloody ear on the ground.
"Ouch!" The man cried out in pain, and his grip on the monkey loosened, causing the monkey to quickly run away.
"Boss!"
"Pfft." Without the monkey's threat, Liu Chaoque seized the opportunity and struck a man with a gun directly in the face, leaving him bruised and swollen, and then he got the weapon back.
A weapon that can actually kill.
Bang, bang.
The situation reversed. With a real gun, Liu Chaoque was like a god of death. She was very calm. Her rationality kept them alive. In the end, only Liu Chaoque and the monkey that made things worse stood still.
Seeing that everyone had fallen, the monkey came out, bowed obsequiously, and then, in a fit of rage, urinated on the head of the man who was grabbing it.
Then he led Liu Chaoque towards their hiding place.
……
The blood-stained photo vaguely shows the scene of Moon Lake. A young man in hiking clothes picked up the photo, took out his camera, and captured the sound of the running people.
He murmured, "Like fire, so beautiful."
……
Without human interference, the fire was finally extinguished within a day. The fire brigade that arrived, apart from using a lot of water, had all its personnel present.
They were covered in dust and dirt, looking like they had just come down from a mine, with only their teeth still white. Liu Chaoque secretly left some food in their car.
Many monkeys died, but thankfully the monkey king is still alive. However, the monkey king is seriously injured and will probably be driven out of the group in the future. Nature is truly cruel.
Of the monkeys she knew, several had perished in the fire, and the rest were sent for treatment. Aunt Monkey was also choked by the smoke and was sent to a rescue center.
Mount Emei suddenly fell silent.
The rest of the trip became calmer, and Liu Chaoque would occasionally visit the rescue station to see the group of longing monkeys.
The zookeeper jokingly called her a child of nature.
"I have never seen wild and untamed monkeys so friendly to humans." Especially these mischievous monkeys from Mount Emei.
The zookeeper was fully equipped with protective gear, just in case the monkey got upset and scratched her.
On the last day, the monkey knew that Liu Chaoque was leaving, so it plucked out the few furs it had left, wanting to give them to her as a gift. Touched by this, Liu Chaoque resolutely refused.
"I'll come to see you again when I have time. Take good care of yourself and don't steal tourists' backpacks anymore," Liu Chaoque carefully instructed.
"Okay, okay." After this incident, they realized that in front of the madman, being a second-year high school student was just a title. The shadow of death made them dare not go too far. So, the monkeys, who had returned to their bare home, changed from being naughty to being well-behaved.
However, their wild nature made them difficult to tame. After about a year or two, the monkeys still couldn't resist stealing things, but they did become more restrained.
The man who had a deep-seated hatred for monkeys confessed his motive for the crime.
His son was kidnapped by wild monkeys near Mount Emei and never found again. His wife blamed him for not paying attention, allowing the monkeys to abduct their child. She searched high and low, but couldn't find him. Unable to bear the blow, she walked across a zebra crossing without looking at a red light and was hit and killed by a car. The driver was a drunkard who only wanted to go to jail and had no money to pay compensation. Later, the child was found, but he had been beaten into a cripple by the traffickers. When he was found, he was begging on the street. When he went to the hospital for a checkup, his body had already broken down.
The exorbitant medical bills and his wife's departure left the man depressed and dejected. He eventually blamed the monkey for orchestrating the tragedy.
What prompted him to make the decision to abandon his children who needed care and recklessly set fire to the mountain was not reported in the news.
The most important question is whether the fire on the knife was spontaneously combusted.
Sitting on the plane home, Liu Chaoque closed his eyes and pondered.
Mu Li sat next to her, looking at the new pimples on her face, and sighed, "I'm never going to a city that serves spicy food again."
Perhaps because Sichuan province is relatively damp and cold, their faces were quite swollen. To get rid of the dampness, they had to eat some spicy food to warm themselves up. They didn't get much sunshine, and even their blankets felt damp.
“Then let’s not go. How about we go to the North next time? It’s dry there, with plenty of produce, and the food is cheap and delicious, but we might not be able to stand the humidity in the South when we come back, and we might break out in pimples.” After saying that, Liu Chaoque felt a headache coming on again: “We can’t go to Sanya, can we? Going to Sanya in the middle of summer would be unbearably hot.”
"Let's stay home," Mu Li said with a sigh. "I don't want to leave the province anytime soon."
Liu Chaoque nodded as well.
Finally back home after five days, bathed in the warm sun, Liu Chaoque felt that his skin had lost some moisture.
The faces that had always been covered by black umbrellas were now openly displayed to the sun. The three little ones were sunbathing on the balcony.
Then, Liu Chaoque was the first to lose her temper. Before her face could sting, she hurriedly ran back into the house and looked in the mirror. Thankfully, it was only slightly red.
Before playing the game, she had sensitive skin. She finally managed to get it cured, and she doesn't want it to relapse; it's so uncomfortable.
Seeing her leave, Mo Yun also stepped into the room with his short legs. He placed his two paws on the stool and his two other paws on the edge of the dressing table. He looked up at Liu Chaoque with clear and worried eyes.
Your cat head suddenly appears.
Liu Chaoque's health bar was completely depleted. He stroked the cat's head and said with a smile, "Little Moyun, what's up? Why aren't you sunbathing?"
"Meow meow." Mo Yun rubbed her palm and pointed towards the kitchen: "Meow meow, cat meow meow (Manman, I'll cook for you)."
"Hmm." Liu Chaoque picked up the black cat and shook his head: "This is too much trouble for you. We just got back, so let's eat out today."
"Mu Li!" Liu Chaoque called out.
"What?" Mu Li responded from outside.
"Where should we eat tonight?" Liu Chaoque asked.
"Ahhh, time to eat!" Mu Li took off her glasses, ran home, and went to Liu Chaoque to order: "I want braised prawns, crystal cake, crab roe noodles, and turtle soup! I'm numb from all the spiciness in Sichuan, I want something light!"
"You're telling me braised prawns are bland? You're telling me crab roe noodles are bland? Besides, these two are usually not in the same restaurant, right? Could it be that ridiculously expensive hotel of yours again?" Liu Chaoque really couldn't think of any place that served noodles, rice, and cakes.
"Oh, if all else fails, how about we go to a buffet?" Mu Li said, "Seafood buffet!"
“Meow meow meow (But won’t you get even more pimples if you eat spicy food and other foods that trigger allergies?)” Mo Yun suddenly interrupted, like a bucket of cold water being poured over them, cooling down Mu Li’s enthusiasm.
“That’s true.” Mu Li touched her slightly red and swollen pimple and hissed.
Sitting in a vegetarian buffet restaurant where you can eat a lot of vegetarian food for only 25 yuan, Mu Li felt like someone who was just learning to coordinate her hands and feet. She didn't even know how to pick up the chopsticks and was completely at a loss.
Mo Yun was placed in a private room at Shiqi by Liu Chaoque, who also prepared three dishes for her: fish, chicken, and soup.
He's tearing apart a whole chicken now, eating it with his mouth full of oil.
When Liu Chaoque placed the plates on their table, he seemed to be working on something in front of a rice cooker.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Someone suddenly called his ear, and Mu Li flinched. She turned her head, looked at Liu Chaoque, and rolled her eyes at him: "I want to eat."
Oh, Liu Chaoque understands, but she doesn't know how to turn on the rice cooker and is a little afraid of breaking it. Since they can't solve the problem, they'll try a different approach.
So she led him to the rice cooker, scooped a spoonful for him, and said, "This is also rice. See if you like it."
Mu Li glanced at the bowl and said resignedly, "Alright."
Looking rather unhappy, Liu Chaoque glanced at the pot again.
When Mu Li sat back down, he tentatively took a bite and was immediately amazed by the rich flavor. The salty diced meat and the chewy peas were like a rich country band singing in his mouth.
He scooped up another spoonful, savoring it carefully. By the time he finished eating, he still hadn't seen Liu Chaoque. The food she had left on the table seemed to be getting cold.
"Try these." Before he could even look for her, he heard her voice. On his table was a bowl of various shapes and colors: green vegetables, potatoes, and eggplant, as well as a steaming bowl of... noodles.
He looked up at Liu Chaoque, his eyes filled with an inscrutable emotion.
Liu Chaoque sat opposite him and said to himself, "I didn't know what you liked to eat, so I took a little of everything. Don't worry, none of them are spicy. But if you don't like them, you can give them to me."
"Can you finish this?" Mu Li asked, glancing at the food on her plate and then at the bowl she had given herself.
Liu Chaoque paused for a moment before saying, "Anyway, I took the liberty of getting it for you. If you don't like it, I'll just eat it. At worst, I'll take a walk on the way back to help with digestion."
"No need." Mu Li picked up a piece of eggplant, chewed it, and said, "I like it very much... Thank you."
"I'm glad you like it." Liu Chaoque breathed a sigh of relief.
She picked up a potato from her plate and put it in her mouth, exclaiming, "Delicious!" It tasted just like her favorite potato before. Sure enough, you have to add more soy sauce when stir-frying potatoes.
I also grabbed a piece of fried rice cake; hmm, it tastes pretty good too.
Watching Liu Chaoque engrossed in eating, Mu Li pondered whether she should prepare some vegetarian food for her. When she flipped to the bottom, only a mouthful of rice was visible. Hmm, it was white rice, but the sauce on top had changed color.
"Hmm, maybe I should learn how to make stir-fried potatoes. I think Liu Chaoque really likes them." He thought to himself as he ate, a slight smile unconsciously creeping onto his lips.
"I'm so happy!" Liu Chaoque breathed a huge sigh of relief and continued packing the small potatoes. He also went to the front to get two fried rice cakes.
Mu Li reached out her hand: "I want to eat too."
Liu Chaoque handed it to him with a smile, "Hmm, plan worked."
Both of them came out holding their bellies. Mo Yun chattered to Liu Chaoque about how delicious the fried chicken in the private room was, but it was a bit too greasy after eating too much.
They also mentioned that the lady selling Laba porridge was very cute.
Just as it was about to say something more, someone suddenly spoke up.
"Miss Laba Congee? What a strange name."
The three of them turned around abruptly, and Mo Yun's eyes widened: "It's you?"
The girl smiled and said, "What a coincidence, running into you here."
"Is this the young lady you mentioned who speaks animal language?" Liu Chaoque whispered.
Mo Yun nodded frantically.
