The Collapse Begins in Changkong City

Chapter 89 Casual Chat (Part 2)

The third scenario is the one Wang Tang fears the most: the system is killed by an unknown enemy before it can even react.

After all, he hadn't forgotten that an unknown entity had attacked him when he first transmigrated.

"No, I can't keep thinking like this," Wang Tang shook her head frantically. "It seems I can only rely on myself in this place."

Wang Tang cautiously walked towards the road ahead, taking each step with extreme care for fear of triggering some kind of trap or mechanism.

As Wang Tang passed through various places, he saw beautiful scenery that should never exist in the Honkai world. Although he wasn't in the mood to look at these things, they did gradually calm his mind...

"Although I don't know where this place is, the owner here shouldn't have any ill intentions towards me."

It wasn't that Wang Tang was arrogant; rather, he was acutely aware that his strength was insignificant in the face of such an existence. If someone truly wanted to kill him, he might die before he even had a chance to react.

Several tens of minutes later, Wang Tang walked to a bench.

There was a man sitting on the chair whose face was obscured. He was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and ordinary black pants. His build was similar to mine, maybe just a little fatter.

Wang Tang looked at the person in front of her warily and said, "May I ask how you are addressed?"

"Don't be nervous. I mean you no harm. If I really did, you wouldn't have enough lives to survive. So don't be nervous."

"Who are you, and why were you brought to this place?"

“Me?” The man pointed to himself. “My name cannot be spoken, but you may call me Dark Night.”

Wang Tang respectfully asked, "May I ask what your purpose is in bringing me to this place, Lord Dark Night?"

"Hehe, if you hadn't reminded me, I would have forgotten that I had important business to attend to." Dark Night casually cracked his knuckles, and in an instant, a towering giant tower appeared. "Kid, if you can get through this tower, I'll let you go back." As he spoke, Dark Night's body began to become transparent.

"Keep it up, kid!" The words had barely left his lips when the night was almost completely transparent.

Seeing this, Wang Tang asked anxiously, "So why did you bring me to this place?"

"Hehe, we'll meet again sometime," the man said in the dark, before disappearing completely.

"Damn it, isn't this a scam?" Wang Tang clenched his fists tightly. "The riddle-maker deserves to die."

A few minutes later, having completely calmed down, I walked up to the tower. "This tower looks like it was rushed out of construction."

Wang Tang looked at the gate speechlessly and said, "Forget it, I'll just go in and take a look. Anyway, that's all I can do now." Wang Tang slowly placed her hand in front of the gate and gently pushed it open.

"How did it open when I hadn't even exerted any force? Is this some kind of sensor door?"

As soon as Wang Tang stepped through the gate, she found it closed. Wang Tang frowned. "Just like in the TV dramas, this change is completely unnecessary, but they still force this kind of scene that won't scare anyone. It's so boring."

As Wang Tang walked into the tower step by step, she found that the place resembled a training room.

"Whatever trials you have, come quickly!"

The very next second after I shouted, a fireball hurtled toward me.

"This joke doesn't affect me at all." Just as I was preparing to create a spatial rift, I suddenly felt a sense of powerlessness. "What's going on..." The next second, I was hit hard by this fireball.

"Cough cough, why can't I use my spatial power?" I was a little skeptical and tried to use my spatial power again, but I found that this place completely restricted my spatial power.

"What, you've become weak now? A mere fireball defeated you?"

The moment after hearing that voice, a person who looked exactly like Wang Tang appeared.

"Who are you, and why do you look like me?"

"Tch, this is just me testing you in your own form. You can also call me Shadow."

"Then I'll see just how capable you are." With that, Wang Tang stood up and swung a blow at the shadow.

The next moment, their fists struck each other in the face.

Both sides were attacking with all their might. The people created by the trial space were initially able to fight Wang Tang to a standstill, but as time went on, the shadows were eventually worn down and killed by Wang Tang.

"You're no match for me either. Facing me now, who has nothing but recovery ability and physical strength, you can't beat me, let alone me at my strongest."

The shadow disappeared without replying to Wang Tang. As the shadow vanished, a staircase appeared in front of Wang Tang.

"This should be the staircase leading to the second floor." Wang Tang walked up to the second floor step by step.

"Isn't this place the same as the previous one?"

“This place is indeed the same as the previous staircase, but now you will be facing a more powerful enemy than before.”

Hearing the familiar voice, Wang Tang turned around and saw that the shadow that had been instantly blasted apart earlier had reappeared.

"Why you again?"

The shadow said, "Hehe, you'll meet me in every level after this, but I'll only get stronger as you progress."

"Hey, looks like we're going to have to fight again." I continued to assume a fighting stance.

"Then I'll be the one to launch the attack this time." The next moment, the shadow charged towards Wang Tang.

"A little faster than before, but not enough." He stretched out his fist to attack him, but something unexpected happened. His fist paused for a second just before it hit the shadow.

But in that instant, Wang Tang was knocked away by the shadow.

With a thud, Wang Tang smashed against the wall.

"Damn, you actually have an ability you didn't have before." Wang Tang shook his head. "This time, attack the shadow."

But this time, just like before, he was stunned and then... was knocked away.

Wang Tang was immediately reduced to red temperature after that.

They fought the shadowy figure head-on for several hours.

Wang Tang had lost count of how many times he had been knocked away. He struck at the shadow again, who looked at the man in front of him with disdain, a man he had knocked away countless times.

Just as I was about to hit him, Shadow activated his ability again, but this time Wang Tang was not briefly frozen like he had been before. This time, his fist struck Shadow squarely. Because Wang Tang's punch carried the rage from being knocked away so many times, it pierced right through Shadow's body.

Shadow stared in disbelief at his pierced chest and said, "How is this possible? How could you be immune to my attacks?"

Wang Tang pointed to his head and said, "Your ability relies on a brief burst of mental power to make my mind momentarily dazed for a second."

He then pulled out his arm and punched the shadow in the stomach.

This punch shattered the weakened shadow. After the shadow disappeared, Wang Tang plopped down on the floor, breathing heavily: I never expected... that my strength would be so greatly affected without the support of those abilities.

Wang Tang knew very well that this shadow was not actually very strong; it was only because it was the first time he had encountered such an unexpected mental attack that he was knocked away so many times.
