The Collapse Begins in Changkong City
Chapter 52 Escaping Changkong City
Kevin, who had escaped from Qianyu Academy, saw Mei and Su panting heavily. "Su Mei, are you alright? We were going to find a convenience store to replenish our energy."
Kevin then took May and Sue to a convenience store outside the school. Kevin asked May, somewhat puzzled, "Why aren't there any monsters here?"
"That person said before that creatures without Honkai energy adaptability have no chance of becoming those monsters."
Kevin suddenly realized, "So that's why there aren't any monsters here."
"Su, you guys go get some instant noodles to eat. I'll stand guard for now, and make me a bowl while you're at it."
Su quickly and efficiently prepared instant noodles for the three of them. Mei, on the other hand, grabbed some high-calorie foods from the shelf.
“These things will greatly replenish our energy.” Mei returned to Kevin’s side after taking a lot of high-calorie items.
"Mei, you're back! What are you carrying?"
May placed a piece of chocolate in Kevin's hand. "These things will greatly replenish our energy."
"I see"
A few minutes later, Kevin and his group, having finished their instant noodles, resumed their journey to escape Changkong City.
Canghai City
A gray-haired girl ran with tears streaming down her face, saying, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, Carol, I... I'm really sorry, I didn't have the ability to save you."
Hua ran to a secluded place and hid.
Hua was in a very sorry state. Her shoes had fallen off while she was running, and now she was only wearing a pair of torn black stockings.
Hua began to hate her own weakness. "If I were stronger, could I have saved Carol?" Thinking of Carol, Hua suddenly remembered her father who was in the hospital.
Hua tried to stand up by holding onto the wall, but because her injuries were too severe, she was in a lot of pain.
The sound of footsteps approached.
Hua became very alert upon hearing the footsteps. She decided that if it was one of those monsters, she would fight them to the death.
Are you alright?
Upon seeing that it was a person, Hua didn't need to lower her guard. She noticed the woman was fully armed and asked, "Are you part of the rescue team?"
"My name is Himiko, and I am the captain of the fifth squad of the Fire Moth. I was sent here to rescue you survivors."
Himiko calmly said, "Do you want to become a Moth Chaser and join my team?"
Upon hearing Himiko's invitation, Hua asked with some doubt, "Is...is it really possible for me to join you?"
"of course"
Hua: "Then I'll join."
Himiko then escorted Hua to the Fire-Chasing Moth's encampment before continuing her rescue mission.
Hua sat silently, curled up in his lap, at the camp of the Fire-Chasing Moths.
A young girl walked up to Hua and gently patted her. "Hua, what's wrong?"
Hua looked at Carol in front of her and said, "Am I dreaming? It's so good to see you again, Carol." Hua threw herself into Carol's arms and burst into tears.
"Ahua, what's wrong with you?" Carol was at a loss when she saw Hua like this.
Carol vaguely heard Hua apologize to him. "I'm sorry, Carol, I'm too weak and unable to continue."
Hearing Hua's guilty apology, Carol gently patted Hua's back, "It's alright, Hua, don't cry. I'm fine now, aren't I?"
Hua gradually calmed down with Carol's comforting words. She wiped away her tears, looked at Carol, her eyes filled with surprise and gratitude.
"Carol, are you really alive? I clearly saw you surrounded by those monsters at first." Hua held Carol's hand tightly, afraid that it was just a dream.
Carroll was lost in memories.
After escaping from China, Carol found herself surrounded by Deadpool and tried to fight back, but with her limited strength, she was no match for them.
Just as Carol fainted from excessive panic, a flash of sword light saved her from being infected.
"Luckily, I left a few clones on them beforehand, otherwise Carol would really be dead here."
When I woke up, I was already here. The soldiers told me that a very important person had rescued me.
"I see. Once we find out who saved you, I'll go with you to thank them."
"Uh-huh"
The two sat quietly as survivors were brought in one by one.
Changkong City
Kevin and his companions encountered a massive Honkai Beast.
Upon seeing this, Kevin anxiously exclaimed, "Mei, Sue, run!"
"But..." Su Gang was interrupted after saying only a few words.
"There are no buts, you guys run! Sue, take care of Mei for me." Kevin decided to hold off this tank-class Honkai Beast for them.
After saying that, Kevin gripped the baseball bat tightly and swung it at the tank-class Honkai Beast.
Mei and Sue knew that staying here would only hold Kevin back, so they had no choice but to flee.
After they left, Kevin attacked the Honkai Beast even more fiercely. "We must finish off this Honkai Beast quickly," Kevin thought, wanting to prevent anything from happening to Mei and the others.
The attacks landed heavily on the Honkai Beast's body. After enduring Kevin's attacks, the Honkai Beast immediately attacked Kevin.
But Kevin dodges every attack.
Kevin fought the tank-class Honkai Beast for more than five minutes before finally defeating it.
Without hesitation, Kevin ran in the direction where May and the others had left.
Without anyone hindering him, Kevin saw May and the others in less than two minutes.
As Kevin approached them, he shouted "Mei and Sue!" But the next moment when they turned around, a Knight-class Honkai Beast lunged at them, intending to pierce Mei and Sue through.
Upon seeing this, Kevin quickly shouted, "Open up quickly!"
Kevin was in despair. He knew that at such close range, May and Sue had no chance of escaping the attack.
Kevin prayed silently in his heart, "Anyone, please save them."
Just as Kevin thought the Honkai Beast was about to pierce Mei and the others, a figure appeared and quickly kicked the Knight-class Honkai Beast, sending it flying backward.
This scene surprised everyone present.
Kevin finally reached May and the others, carefully examining the man who had several allies.
"Hey, long time no see, Kevin! Don't you even recognize me?"
Kevin smiled and scratched his head. "Thank you so much for showing up in time to save them."
I said calmly, "It's nothing, it's nothing. I just saw the Honkai outbreak and happened to be in a nearby city, so I just wanted to check if you were alright." I said this kind of nonsense that even Wang Tang herself didn't believe.
"Brother Wang Tang, that kick you just made was so cool!"
I felt a little awkward hearing Kevin suddenly change his address from "Wang Tang" to "Big Brother Wang Tang." "Your sudden change in address is making me uncomfortable. You should just call me by my name. Calling me like that makes me feel like it's shortening my lifespan."
"OK then."
Wang Tang then invited Kevin, Mei, Su, and others to join the Fire Moth.
