The Collapse Begins in Changkong City
Chapter 139 Departure
"Cocolia, please extend your hand so I can see if it's alright?" Wang Tang said calmly.
"Oh, then take a look." Cocolia stretched out her slender hand and placed it in front of Wang Tang.
"Tsk, that's about enough. Can you still feel the pain?"
"It still hurts a bit, but it's much better than before."
"Why don't we get discharged today? That way, we should be able to reach our destination in about a day."
"Of course, but have you found a car?" Cocolia asked, puzzled.
"Hmph, of course I found it! If I hadn't found it, why would I have let you leave the hospital?"
"Then it's hard work for you."
"It's not hard work, it's not hard work, anyway, I'm not the one driving."
"So it wasn't you." Cocolia didn't react immediately. "Wait, what did you say? No... you were driving, then who was driving?"
Upon hearing this, Wang Tang clapped her hands and said, "Come in."
Cocolia looked towards the door with some confusion. "Is there anyone else outside?"
With a click, the room door opened, and a large group of more than thirty people walked in.
The group moved in perfect unison, like an army. "Wang Tang and his men are..."
Wang Tang smiled slightly and said, "These people are the ones I recruited. Each of them is no worse than the ten men under your command."
Cocolia whispered in Wang Tang's ear, "Where did you recruit these people from, and can you even trust them?"
"Don't worry, don't you trust the person I found? He's absolutely trustworthy and won't betray you."
"Are you so sure they won't betray us?"
"Of course, you have to trust me."
Cocolia said with some doubt, "I can definitely trust the person you found, but the way you said it makes me very uneasy."
"Don't worry at all. Even if these people really betray you, I won't let them hurt you," Wang Tang said with a smile.
Seeing that smile put Cocolia at ease, as she could feel a strong sense of security from it.
Wang Tang waved for those people to leave, and they walked out the door without a word.
“Let’s go now.” Cocolia stretched out of bed and was about to put on her boots when a sharp pain shot through her brain.
Cocolia dropped her boots and clutched her left arm. "Ouch!"
Wang Tang gently patted Cocolia's back and said, "Don't force yourself to do something so small. Let me help you."
"Well, then," Cocolia grew her own legs, and Wang Tang immediately squatted down next to Cocolia's feet, picked up the boots, and put them on her.
"Thank you for your willingness to help me."
Wang Tang was a little confused when she heard Cocolia's thanks. "What did you say? I didn't hear you clearly. Could you repeat it?"
"Thank you for helping me. A normal person would have abandoned me when they encountered those troops, but you didn't give up on me."
"What nonsense are you talking about? Don't forget you haven't paid me my salary yet. How could I abandon you when I haven't even received my money?"
Cocolia smiled without saying a word. He knew that Wang Tang's words were just a joke. After all, how could someone with the power to easily defeat dozens of people be short of money?
"What are you laughing at? I'm telling the truth."
"It's nothing, I just suddenly felt like laughing."
After Wang Tang finished putting shoes on Cocolia, she stood up and said, "Okay, try standing up now."
Cocolia nodded and stood up. Although she could stand, her movements were somewhat unsteady.
"How about I help you walk?"
"Is it okay? Then please give me your hand."
Wang Tang was dumbfounded when he saw Cocolia, who showed no intention of refusing. After all, he had expected Cocolia to reject him with a haughty attitude. Why was she acting so unpredictably?
Seeing Wang Tang's dazed expression, Cocolia frowned and grabbed Wang Tang's arm.
"What are you spacing out for? You asked me to hold your hand, but now you're just spacing out here. Are you playing me for a fool? I'm going to get angry."
"I wasn't playing a trick on you, I just felt that you didn't play by the rules."
"A routine? Tell me what kind of routine."
“I thought you would pretend to be strong and refuse my request to help you, and then after going through all kinds of hardships, you would still choose to compromise and let me help you.”
Cocolia listened to Wang Tang's wildly imaginative ideas and said speechlessly.
"Your imagination is too good. I know what my body is like. I'm not that free."
Wang Tang, supporting Cocolia, said, "I was just daydreaming."
"Okay, okay, let's hurry up and get the discharge papers done."
"That's fine."
Half an hour later
Wang Tang helped Cocolia out of the hospital, and a group of people followed behind them, which made ordinary passersby afraid to get close, for fear of getting involved in some gang fight.
Wang Tang led Cocolia to a jeep, opened the door, and said, "Please come in."
Cocolia went straight into the Jeep, closed the door casually, and then chose to enter from the other side.
After seeing the two of them get into the car, the group of people behind them also chose to get in.
For the next twenty-odd hours, Wang Tang and Cocolia stayed in the car, occasionally going out for some fresh air, since anyone would feel uncomfortable staying in the car all the time.
A day later, Wang Tang and Cocolia finally arrived at their destination.
With a click, the car door opened, and Wang Tang pulled Cocolia out of the car. "Wow, the air quality outside is definitely better. I was almost suffocating in the car," Wang Tang exclaimed, stretching.
Cocolia closed her eyes and took deep breaths of the fresh air around her, nodding, "Yes, the air outside is so much better. I don't even want to go back to the car now."
"Alright, you shouldn't stay in this cold environment for too long, you'll easily catch a cold." Wang Tang took a cotton-padded coat she had bought on the way from the car and draped it over Cocolia's shoulders.
Cocolia put on the cotton coat that was draped over her shoulders, hugged herself, and said, "You draped the coat over my shoulders earlier so it would have been easier for me to hurry up."
"Really? Maybe it's because I look cool draped in my clothes a lot."
Cocolia stood ramrod straight and proudly raised her head. "As expected of me, I'm handsome no matter what."
Wang Tang smiled and said gently, "Yes, yes, Cocolia is the most handsome!"
"That's right, don't you even know who I, Cocolia, am?" Just as Cocolia was feeling proud and complacent, his little stomach rumbled uncontrollably.
"Oh my, what was that sound just now, Cocolia? Did you hear it?" Wang Tang asked, pretending not to have heard clearly.
Cocolia's face suddenly turned red with embarrassment. She covered her stomach, which had let her down at the crucial moment, and said in a gloomy tone, stepping on Wang Tang's foot with one foot. "Shut up, let's hurry up and find a place to eat."
Wang Tang cried out in pain, "Okay, okay, then quickly move your leg away, let's go find it."
