Farming in the Magical World

Chapter 152 Medical Officer Candy

"prick!"

"Hahaha... ..."

Under the scorching sun, rows of team members were training, their bare bodies tanned and shiny, yet they remained focused and serious.

This is what Lanny saw when he brought Black Tiger to the new camp.

At this moment, in the square in front of the new camp, the new team members, divided into their respective squads, were conducting their daily offensive and defensive training under the scorching summer sun.

Tim also took the lead and stood at the front of the team, watching the team members train below. When he saw Lanny walk into the square, he did not stop training, but simply nodded to Lanny.

Seeing the team members training so well, Lanny nodded to Tim with satisfaction. He didn't interrupt the training, but instead walked around the square towards the barracks.

Tim is still very reliable. He hasn't slacked off in training and has even added a lot of new content on top of what he gave us, seemingly to counter the Cavaliers' charge.

In addition to their original weapons, some shield bearers now carried a new weapon: a newly forged scimitar.

"Is the knife still working?" Lanny asked Black Tiger behind him casually as they walked toward the barracks.

This new weapon was only recently issued, and he hadn't even had time to conduct an "after-sales survey." He wanted to hear Black Tiger's opinion, since they were the users and had a more direct understanding of the situation.

"At first, everyone was quite unaccustomed to it and kept wanting to throw it away and hold the shield with both hands. Commander Tim scolded them several times, but they've only gotten a little better in the last few days!"

Black Tiger is a straightforward man who doesn't understand many subtleties. He won't blindly praise something just because it was designed by Lanny. He speaks very directly!

Moreover, his opinion didn't stop there. After a pause, he continued, "This thing has some obvious drawbacks. It's completely ineffective against knights' armor. It would be great if it could cut through armor!" Thinking of the demonstration Tim had given him, he was really looking forward to having a weapon that could cut through armor.

"Hehe!" Lanny wasn't angry at his straightforwardness, but could only chuckle at his expectations. "If you want to break through armor with just slashing, you'll need the Green Dragon Crescent Blade!"

This weapon was originally designed as a close-quarters defensive weapon for shield bearers, primarily to address their near-total lack of offensive capability. The task of breaking through armor mainly relied on the spearmen behind the shield bearers; their primary role was to provide cover.

In fact, given the current configuration and training of the security forces, there are still quite a few shortcomings.

Putting everything else aside, their slow movement speed is a major problem. Once the enemy escapes on horseback, these team members can't even catch up on foot, and are almost helpless except for firing a few arrows at their backs.

Not to mention that once a knight in full armor charges on horseback, the security guards have almost no effective means of stopping him!

Although there had been specific drills for dealing with cavalry charges, attempting to use shields and lances to block them, he wasn't optimistic about their effectiveness in actual combat; it was only slightly better than nothing. To truly counter cavalry, one would need firearms, or even automatic firearms, such as... a Maxim gun?

But when he thought about the gunpowder experiments he had conducted, he could only sigh helplessly.

Based on his communication with Melissa over this period of time, he was almost certain that the ubiquitous magical elements in this world had some unknown effects on gunpowder, or rather, on combustion itself, making the combustion very weak and the temperature of the explosion not as high as he had expected!

"The Green Dragon Crescent Blade?" Black Tiger was full of questions, wondering if this was another new weapon invented by Lanny. He wondered how powerful it was, but thinking about the things the master had designed before, he was quite looking forward to it.

"It's nothing!" Lanny waved his hand, not intending to explain, and walked to the barracks door, lifted the curtain and went inside.

Two young men were lying on two beds inside the barracks, and Candy was carefully changing the bandage on one of their arms. When she saw Lanny walk in, she hurriedly dropped what she was doing and stood up. "Sir, what brings you here?"

Lenny didn't answer, but waved her to continue what she was doing, then turned to the two teammates and asked, "How could you be so careless? Are you feeling better?"

Seeing that Lanny had actually come to visit them in person, the two were very excited. One of them, with his arm in a sling, quickly jumped out of bed and stood up straight. "Thank you for your concern, sir. I'm fine!"

The other one was about to make a move, but Candy pressed him back down, so he could only sit up straight and look at Lenny excitedly, "I, I'm fine too!"

"Haha," Lanny pointed to the white bandage on his hand, "You don't look like you're alright!"

Lenny didn't intend to blame the two. Since Tim was in charge of the training, he didn't plan to interfere too much. It wouldn't be good for him to interfere if Tim made other punishments!

Hearing Lanny's teasing, the two of them were very embarrassed, their faces turning red as they stammered, not knowing how to defend themselves for a moment.

"How badly are they injured?" Lanny ignored the two men's attitudes and turned to ask the busy maid in a low voice.

“Sir, it’s nothing serious. The wound isn’t deep, and with the alcohol you made, there’s no need to worry about it getting infected. Just keep it dry for the next few days, and it’ll heal quickly!” Candy replied without looking up as she cut the excess bandage with scissors.

"Hmm," Lanny nodded in satisfaction before turning to the two team members again and solemnly instructing them, "Did you hear that? Remember Miss Candy's instructions. Soon you'll be two energetic young men again. Remember, Miss Candy is very strict, and I have to listen to her!"

"Master!" Hearing Lanny's nonsense, Candy stomped her feet in embarrassment and anger, which only made Black Tiger behind her laugh out loud!

Although Lenny was joking, his gentle attitude and concern for them deeply moved the two players, and tears were faintly visible in their eyes.

They thought Lenny would be furious when he arrived, and they were very uneasy. But to their surprise, Lenny didn't mention any of these things at all, as if he really just came to check on their injuries.

Seeing Candy's adorable appearance, he almost couldn't help but burst out laughing, his face a strange mix of laughter and tears.

"Alright, alright, now that you're both alright, I'm relieved!" Seeing that Candy had finished her work and the two seemed fine, Lanny was about to turn around and return to the castle when a little maid's voice suddenly rang out behind him, "Master, let me go back with you!"

After Candy got up, Lanny discovered that the little maid had secretly made a small wooden box. She then stuffed some alcohol bottles, scissors, and white cloth bandages into it before picking up the box and following her.

Seeing Lanny's gaze, Candy explained somewhat embarrassedly, "Sir, because there were so many things and it was inconvenient to carry them, I asked Uncle Jimmy to make a box! ... It didn't affect Uncle Jimmy's work, I just had him make it in his spare time!"

After the three left the barracks, one of the wounded soldiers looked at Candy's retreating figure and exclaimed, "Miss Candy is so beautiful!"

"Tch, don't get your hopes up. Do you think Miss Candy would want someone like you?"

Another teammate said with a mocking look, "I'm about the same..."

Lanny, who had already left the barracks, naturally didn't notice any of this. It wasn't until Candy chased after him that he pointed to the small wooden box Candy was carrying in his arms and said, "Why didn't you put a strap on it? It would be much more convenient to hang it on your shoulder. You can't see it when you're carrying it like this."

"Ah, you can do that... Ah!" Candy was talking to Lanny but didn't notice a protrusion on the ground. She kicked it and immediately lost her balance. She could only scream and watch helplessly as her body fell to the ground.

Fortunately, Lanny was turning around to talk to her at that moment, and quickly reached out to support her arm. Black Tiger behind her also stepped forward and took her arm. "Miss Candy, are you alright?"

"See, I told you so?" After she regained her balance, Lenny let go of her hand and looked at Candy with amusement.

"Thank you, Brother Black Tiger!" Still shaken, Candy nodded to Black Tiger behind her before turning around. "Master, it seems to be true. What should we do?"

Lanny rolled her eyes at her, turned around and left. "Why should I teach a little maid who doesn't care whether the master is thirsty or not, who leaves the master without water all day!"

Hearing Lanny's words, Candy realized that she had been busy at the camp for a long time today and had completely forgotten her duty of serving Lanny tea and water. She blushed with embarrassment.

The aggrieved little maid following behind, blaming herself, didn't notice the smile on Lanny's lips as he walked ahead!

Hearing Lanny's words, Black Tiger felt that the master was teasing Candy. He wanted to comfort Candy but didn't know what to say, so he could only walk in the back with his head down and not say a word.

After walking a few steps, not hearing any sound behind him, Lanny thought the two hadn't followed. When he turned around, he found Candy with her head down and tears on her face.

"Master, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have..." Seeing Lanny turn around, the little maid raised her face, full of remorse!

"Okay, okay, I was just kidding!" Realizing the joke was getting a bit too far, Lenny smiled and pointed to both sides of the box. "Go find Uncle Jimmy and have him attach a strap between these two sides, so you can hang it on your shoulder!"

Seeing that Lenny didn't seem to be blaming them, the other two breathed a sigh of relief. Candy also realized what had happened, stomped her foot, and said coquettishly, "Young Master is so naughty! You scared me to death!"

Seeing Candy's even happier smile than usual, Lanny thought for a moment before asking again, "Candy, how about you take charge of the medical care here at the camp from now on? Would you like the master to appoint you as the medic of the guard?"

"No way!" Candy first tossed her head haughtily, then immediately opened her big, curious eyes to look at Lanny. "Sir, what is a medical officer...?"

"Medical officer..." Lanny walked towards the castle with his hands behind his back. The little maid behind him, though carrying a box, seemed unusually happy, even skipping and hopping as she walked!

At the camp gate, Black Tiger stopped in his tracks. He could no longer hear what was said afterward, but he knew that the security guard would likely have a new position called "medical officer" in the future.

If this medical officer were Miss Candy, it wouldn't be bad...
