The Strongest Magician of Gods

Chapter 82: The Terror of the Necromancer

The car sped along, passing rows of trees, as Mo Bei drove along the main road.

Ahead, thick fog obscured the sun and sky, and a main road ran through it.

The dilapidated car drove along the steep mountain road, its front and rear hoods swaying and slapping against each other, extremely jarring.

"rumble"

As we climbed the mountain, the shade of the trees grew even denser, and the ancient trees were enormous, radiating a vibrant green.

The car drove across the road, and about an hour later, a dark and gloomy castle appeared before Mo Bei's eyes.

How familiar it was! Mo Bei's eyes filled with tears. A huge bronze door was engraved with many patterns, dark and menacing. On both sides stood bronze statues, each about ten feet tall, with extremely delicate depictions of their blue skin.

"Da da"

Mo Bei got out of the car, his magic robes fluttering in the wind. A black raven cawed on the bronze door, its sinister eyes flashing with a hint of black fire.

"Susu"

At this moment, the two giant bronze figures on either side also moved, and a terrifying choking sound came from the side.

The two bronze figures trembled, their bodies stretched out, their blue skin gleaming faintly.

"Humph"

Mo Bei snorted coldly, his eyes piercing over.

"A mere undead dares to scare me? You're tired of living. Try moving again, and I'll smash you to pieces with one punch."

A demonic voice echoed, the bronze figure's eyes flashed with fire, its body returned to normal, but its legs trembled incessantly.

They were just fragmented undead, devoid of memories, with only some hazy consciousness remaining. They were sealed in bronze more than a hundred years ago, and usually had an innate fear of powerful voices. If Mo Bei's aura were to weaken, these fragmented undead would pounce on him suddenly, and the consequences would be severe.

After Mo Bei spoke, he looked around at his surroundings, then gently pulled on the brass ring on the door and tapped it three times.

"click"

The bronze door opened, revealing what appeared to be a vast expanse of sky and earth. Of course, this was just an illusion. Rows of tall bamboo groves stood in the courtyard, each bamboo stalk as thick as a thigh.

Mo Bei stepped into the bamboo forest, the fresh scent of bamboo filling his nostrils.

A crystal-clear path paved with pebbles led Mo Bei along, occasionally flickering like will-o'-the-wisps, suddenly emerging from the foundations on either side of the path.

"Swish"

In the misty bamboo forest, a giant bamboo stalk exudes a magical power.

That power was terrifying; it was a kind of black energy.

"Swish"

A dark, ethereal figure suddenly emerged from the bamboo.

That dark figure was terrifying; its body was illusory, emanating black energy, and it was only half a body, hovering in mid-air.

Necromancer

Mo Bei smiled brightly. What a familiar scene! He had seen it again. He still remembered that when he first met this guy, he was so scared that he almost fainted.

"Master, it's me."

Mo Bei called out softly and waved her hand.

"You brat, where have you been these past few days? The old headmaster is furious!" the necromancer said.

"It's no use him getting angry, I'm here now!" Mo Bei said, shrugging.

"You're such a troublemaker. How come I only just realized it? The principal is angry. You'd better watch your step and say some nice things. Don't be so stubborn."

"Yes, yes, yes," Mo Bei nodded.

"You're just being perfunctory. I won't bother you anymore. Good luck."

The necromancer shook his head, and with a flick of his body, his ethereal half-figure disappeared back into the bamboo, leaving not a trace of life force behind.

Mo Bei looked at the empty scene, and his body slowly disappeared into the bamboo forest along with his memories.

Soon, rows of tall buildings appeared before Mo Bei's eyes.

Tick-tock, tick-tock. Mo Bei felt a sense of panic. He couldn't use magic right now, and it would be troublesome if he encountered any mischievous students. So he cautiously entered the principal's office building.

Three light taps were made.

"Come in." A voice came from inside.

"squeak"

Mo Bei pushed open the door and entered, bowing slightly, his face showing a hint of embarrassment.

"Principal." He smiled broadly, but rubbed his hands together awkwardly.

"Hmph, so you know how to come back. Why didn't you just disappear? It would save me from getting annoyed by seeing you every day."

At the desk, the old principal, his transparent glasses pointed at the tip of his nose, stood with his hair neatly styled.

"boom"

The principal, his face contorted with anger, stood up and slammed his hand on the table.

"Do you know how many people have a problem with you? What do you think the academy is, coming and going as you please? I've protected you so many times, why won't you listen? If it weren't for Eiffel pleading for you, what could you possibly do?"

As the old principal spoke, he turned around, put his hands behind his back, and walked to stand in front of Mo Bei.

"Uh..." Mo Bei winked and coughed, unable to speak. He was so angry at the principal that he broke out in a cold sweat and his body trembled slightly.

“Principal, please sit down. You don’t need to get up. You’re not fully recovered yet, so please rest as much as possible.”

Mo Bei gave an awkward laugh and said hastily.

"Hmph, what time is it? You're still trying to curry favor with me. You saved me, but you don't need to hint at it like this!"

The old principal glared at him.

Mo Bei instantly became furious, and began to slander him in his heart.

That old bastard is really putting on airs. When did I ever hint at anything to you? You're just framing me. I knew you weren't a kind person, you're so petty. Now that I've insulted you and made fun of you, what else do you want to do? You're really pathetic.

"Ha ha"

Looking at Mo Bei's frustrated face, the old principal couldn't help but laugh.

"Alright, you have indeed gone too far these past few days. The academy has already punished you for your behavior. They originally planned to expel you, but I couldn't bear to see a magical genius like you go out into the world, so I vouched for you. Don't let me down in the future!"

The old principal, dressed in a smart suit, raised his hand and patted Mo Bei's shoulder. His kind face showed his appreciation for Mo Bei.

"Principal...Principal...Please don't make any unreasonable demands on me, or I might run away." Mo Bei shuddered and said, feeling a chill.

"Haha, I definitely won't make things difficult for you. I guarantee you have absolute confidence in yourself. Come here."

The old principal beckoned to Mo Bei and pointed to a black lacquered enrollment invitation on the desk.

The invitation was exactly the same as the one Mo Bei had seen in the study.

"Principal, what do you mean?" Mo Bei asked.

"Don't be afraid of trouble. Seeing your embarrassed look, I know you want to refuse again. But this time it's different, you have to go. This year's enrollment plan is jointly initiated by the four academies, and you can't refuse. As our academy's youngest genius mentor, your reputation has spread far and wide these past few days, as I instructed. Now your reputation carries considerable weight among the four academies, so please take it seriously," the old principal said earnestly.

"What? What do you mean by 'following your orders'?" Mo Bei exclaimed, dumbfounded.

What on earth did that old bastard do while I was gone?! I'm not much better than an ordinary person these days. You want me to recruit magic apprentices? Isn't that just deliberately trying to smear Austin Magic Academy?!

"No...no...no, Principal, I...I..."

Mo Bei was extremely embarrassed, but he couldn't bring himself to say it. Couldn't he just say it?

"Don't be so formal, just take it easy. With your talent, you'll be promoted to an outer disciple of the sect in a year or two. So, during this time, do some hard work for our magic academy. It'll be a good opportunity for me to train you. You'll know how much benefit being a tutor at Austin Magic Academy can bring to the sect later. Don't waste my good intentions," the old headmaster said with a gentle smile.

"Principal... I... I really can't do it. My reputation as a genius is inconsistent and sometimes it doesn't hold true." Mo Bei said, trembling.

"Mo...Bei"

The old headmaster finally lost his temper, raising his head and roaring furiously.

After a long while, Mo Bei walked out of the principal's office with his head hanging low and looking disheveled, holding the admission invitation letter in his hand.

"rumble"

As the car started, Mo Bei stood there, motionless, as the car drove off the mountain path.

"What kind of mess is this?! Heavens above! Earth below! You might as well just strike me dead!"

Mo Bei howled pitifully, the rumble of cars echoing in his ears.
