Chapter 51 Hashimoto's Defeat

In the quiet atmosphere of the library, Itosawa and Ichinose kept their eyes glued to Kamuro's every move.

They saw her walk straight to a corner of the library, where rows of heavy books were displayed.

Kamuro's behavior revealed a sense of purpose; she seemed to be searching for something special.

Kamuro first took a book from the bookshelf, titled "Research on Supernatural Abilities." The book had a simple cover and looked like a normal collection from a library.

Itosawa and Ichinose exchanged a glance. Judging from the title, this was a book that studied the outward manifestations of superpowers. Itosawa understood; it seemed that Kamuro wanted to use this to determine the superpowers of each homeroom teacher.

But Kamuro's next move made them even more curious.

She continued her search among the bookshelves, her fingers lightly tracing the spines of the books, until she stopped in front of a row of large volumes. Her gaze lingered on these books, her expression troubled.

Kamuro was naturally troubled, and Sakayanagi mysteriously asked her to find two books.

One book was easy to find, but the other, according to Sakayanagi, wasn't in the library catalog. It was randomly hidden among the large books and required a bit of luck and patience to find.

She searched carefully among the rows of bookshelves, and finally, behind a thick history book, she found the book.

A satisfied smile appeared on Kamuro's face as she carefully took the book out.

The book has no obvious markings, but Kamuro's actions indicate that she has found what she is looking for—"The Complete Book of Difficult Abilities".

Itosawa and Ichinose noticed that after Kamuro found the book, he did not sit down to read it as usual, but instead opened the book right there on the spot.

Her posture was focused and cautious, as if the book held some important secret.

Ito Sawa whispered to Ichinose, "It seems this is the book that Sakayanagi really wanted her to find."

Ichinose nodded, her voice low and full of curiosity: "It seems very mysterious. Kamuro didn't even take it with him. The contents of the instruction manual must be very sensitive."

They continued to observe the shrine, where she turned the pages of a book, her brow sometimes furrowing and sometimes relaxing, clearly having found some information in the book that interested or puzzled her.

Ito Sawa and Ichinose were curious about what she was looking at, but they couldn't figure out anything from the cover.

"Looks like we'll have to check what books she was reading after she leaves."

Ichinose nodded, her eyes flashing with determination: "We have to be careful and not let Kamuro find out that we're following her."

While Itosawa and Ichinose were intently observing Kamuro, they were unaware of Hashimoto's actions behind them.

Hashimoto was quietly exercising his abilities behind their backs. His special ability—hypnotic guidance—could subtly influence others through conversation or subtle mental stimulation, causing them to make the choices Hashimoto desired.

Unfortunately, while in Class B, he was prevented from using his special ability by someone else's power, otherwise he would have taken down NetWarehouse long ago.

However, now that he's in the library, it seems like that obstacle is no longer an obstacle for him.

It seems that it must be the special ability of someone in their class. Now that they're alone, they're completely at his mercy.

Hashimoto stood in the shadow of the bookshelf, his eyes fixed on the backs of Itosawa and Ichinose, his fingers gently stroking the spines of the books, as if searching for the perfect moment to unleash his supernatural ability.

Soon, his mental energy, like an invisible thread, silently extended towards Ito Sawa, attempting to subtly implant suggestions in them, guiding them to reveal their homeroom teacher's special ability.

Although Sakayanagi only asked her to use her powers to drive them away and ensure the smooth completion of Kamuro's mission, he wanted to do more to prove his abilities.

However, his projected spiritual energy remained unresponsive, like a stone sinking into the sea.

Hashimoto observed from a distance, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes, and a sense of frustration creeping into his heart.

He recalled his previous experiences.

When he first learned of his superpower, he was full of pride and even wanted to control Sakayanagi directly.

But when he tried to guide Sakayanagi's mind, he was caught red-handed by the protective circle in her mental sea.

Sakayanagi's mental sea was filled with protective and countermeasure restrictions, making him practically a lamb to the slaughter.

If he hadn't promptly backed down and sworn allegiance, he felt he might have been killed outright.

Afterwards, he tried to help the princess control Katsuragi, but his ability only lasted for five seconds before Katsuragi broke free.

He then blurted out the name of Hashimoto's ability, and when Hashimoto tried to use it again, he failed miserably.

Hashimoto then realized just how incredible Katsuragi's ability to analyze superpowers was; he could quickly analyze his opponent's superpowers and become immune to them.

Later in Class D, Hashimoto successfully obtained the supernatural abilities of their homeroom teacher, Chabashira, by controlling Maezono.

This achievement restored his confidence, as he believed his ability to induce hypnosis was virtually unmatched.

He originally thought that with this ability, he could be invincible in other classes.

However, he encountered a setback when he tried to apply his superpower to Ryuen of Class C.

His mental strength was silently dissipated, and he wasn't even sure if it was Long Yuanxiang who did it.

Now, he is trying to control Ito Sawa, but every attempt ends in failure.

He tried again and again, and was disappointed time and time again.

The reason he focused on competing with Itosawa instead of trying to take action against Ichinose was not because he liked her, but because he had received a warning from Sakayanagi.

Sakayanagi emphasized that Ichinose's ability was somewhat strange and advised him to avoid attacking her directly as much as possible.

Therefore, Hashimoto chose a more cautious strategy, avoiding direct confrontation with Ichinose, lest his plans be thwarted by Ichinose's unknown abilities.
