Chapter 15, Solution 3

On the other side, Ichinose and Takahashi Rin were enjoying a relaxing bath in the steamy public bathhouse.

Ichinose gently brushed her damp hair behind her ear, her eyes shining brightly in the steam. She turned to Takahashi Rin, her voice pleading.

"Rin-sensei, could you help us persuade Yasuda-sensei? He just needs the pool emptied temporarily. You can have that water for now."

However, Rin Takahashi responded with a warm smile, gently pulling Ichinose closer and softly massaging her shoulders.

"Now, let's put those worries aside for a while and immerse ourselves in this warm water and peaceful time, shall we?"

Ichinose realized that direct persuasion might not work, so she decided to change her strategy.

She abandoned direct topics and instead began to build a closer relationship with Rin Takahashi.

"Teacher Rin, you must be very tired with your busy work schedule."

Rin Takahashi closed her eyes, enjoying the embrace of the hot water, and softly replied, "Yes, sometimes it is quite tiring."

Taking the opportunity, Ichinose suggested, "Then let me give you a massage; it might help relieve some of your fatigue."

Rin Takahashi opened her eyes and looked at Ichinose, a hint of a smile in her eyes that quickly spread across her face: "Thank you for your help, Ichinose."

Ichinose smiled and shook her head, her movements gentle and professional as she began to massage Takahashi Rin. Her fingers pressed on Takahashi Rin's shoulders and neck, gradually relieving her tension and fatigue.

In a relaxed atmosphere, Ichinose asked in a light and curious tone, "Rin-sensei, I've always been curious, how did you discover that this water has beauty and skin-nourishing effects?"

Rin Takahashi chuckled softly, a mischievous glint in her eyes, before suddenly reaching out and playfully hugging Ichinose.

"Ichinose-kun is really persistent. Alright, since you've been massaging me, I'll tell you now."

Ichinose was startled by Takahashi Rin's sudden action, but she quickly relaxed and replied with a smile, "Rin-sensei~ I'm just curious about these things."

Rin Takahashi looked at Ichinose, a glimmer of memory flashing in her eyes, and then began to recount how she met Mr. Yasuda.

"Actually, the way I met Mr. Yasuda was very simple. At the beginning, Mr. Yasuda couldn't fully control his water flow, so he often needed my help."

Ichinose listened attentively, a hint of anticipation in her eyes—this was the crucial information she wanted to know.

Rin Takahashi continued, "Back then, Professor Yasuda always repaid me with his special water. He told me about the effects of that water back then. He said that the water contained special energy and had a very good skin care effect. He specially made it."

Ichinose nodded, a hint of understanding flashing in her eyes: "I see. And then what happened?"

Rin Takahashi sighed, a hint of helplessness in her voice: "But after that, he no longer needed help, so he refused to give it to me. Every time, I had to fight with him for ages to get it back."

Luckily, he stubbornly changed the pool water to that type, otherwise I really wouldn't have been able to get any.

Ichinose had already formed a plan after listening to Takahashi Rin's words.

She said softly, "Rin-sensei, if there's a way to make Yasuda-sensei less stingy, would you be willing to try?"

Rin Takahashi looked at Ichinose, a hint of interest flashing in her eyes: "Oh? Ichinose-san, do you have any good ideas?"

Ichinose smiled, her voice brimming with confidence: "Perhaps we can reach an agreement with Professor Yasuda to get him to share that water."

Rin Takahashi didn't seem particularly excited, but she still asked curiously, "What agreement?"

Ichinose didn't answer directly, but smiled mysteriously: "Well, Rin-sensei, we'll talk about that later. Now, let's enjoy our bath."

Rin Takahashi smiled helplessly. "You little rascal, you still know how to use my words to shut me up. Fine, let's take a nice bath then."

After Ichinose and Takahashi Rin finished their conversation in the bathhouse, Ichinose already had some guesses in her mind, but she knew that these guesses still needed further confirmation.

To fully understand Professor Yasuda's intentions, she needs more information, and Shibata's personal experience may provide key clues.

After taking a bath, Ichinose quickly put on her clothes, her movements faster than usual, appearing somewhat hurried.

She said to Rin Takahashi, "Rin-sensei, I have some things to take care of. I'll give you an answer after school."

Then, she left the bathhouse like a gust of wind.

Rin Takahashi watched Ichinose's hurried departure, feeling both amused and somewhat helpless.

She shook her head, a slight smile playing on her lips, but secretly she was anticipating the answer Ichinose would give.

After returning to the classroom, Ichinose quickly gathered the students who had participated in the events at noon and in the afternoon, as she needed to learn more about their personal experiences.

Ito Sawa and the other students sat together, taking turns sharing their experiences at the swimming pool that afternoon, including the conflict with Ryuen Sho and Mr. Yasuda's intervention.

After listening to their account, Ichinose turned to Shibata, wanting to reconfirm the details of when he went to investigate the situation alone at noon.

She asked gently, "Shibata, could you describe in more detail Mr. Yasuda's reaction when you went to the pool at noon?"

Shibata nodded and began to recall his experience at noon: "When I got to the pool, I started pumping water with the pump. At first, Mr. Yasuda didn't stop me; he let me pump a lot of water."

He paused for a moment, as if recalling Yasuda-sensei's exact words at the time.

Then, he suddenly said, "Go and hand it over to that guy Takahashi."

Shibata imitated Yasuda-sensei's tone, trying to make Ichinose feel the situation at that time.

Ichinose listened to every detail, noticing the information conveyed in Yasuda-sensei's reaction and words.

He did not stop Shibata immediately, but allowed him to pump out a certain amount of water before taking action.

This suggests that Yasuda-sensei may be testing Shibata's resolve, or waiting for a specific moment.

“Thank you, Shibata. This is very important,” Ichinose said to Shibata, her voice filled with gratitude.

She was now even more certain of her guess; it seemed there was a third way to pass the assessment.
