Chapter 13 Unexpected Obstacle

When formulating their plan, Itosawa and Kanzaki decided not to mobilize too many people to the swimming pool to avoid attracting unnecessary attention. They carefully selected two classmates to join their operation: Asako Amakura and Norihito Watanabe, while the others were sent back to their own devices until they had scouted the situation before being assigned to them.

They didn't have any objections and readily agreed.

As for why they're called Netkura and Watanabe, it's naturally because their special abilities are useful.

Netkura Asako is a psychic ability user whose ability, "Vigorous Spirit," can significantly amplify mental power.

With her amplification, Kanzaki's mental attacks would be more effective. He might be able to control Yasuda-sensei by himself, making him stop holding back and even take back the water on his own initiative.

Watanabe's ability, "Body Prison," is a body-based ability that allows him to bind and control external objects within his body. This is particularly advantageous against object-based ability users like Yasuda. If Yasuda hadn't been so ruthless and had attacked them with water from the start, they would have had to rely on Watanabe to defend themselves.

As for Ito Sawa, he was used to shield their mental abilities. Although Kanzaki knew he probably didn't possess any kind of mental barrier, his performance against previous mental attacks suggested that he had some sensitivity to mental energy within a five-meter radius, and...

"The more mental attacks you suffer, the faster your superpowers will react."

"So you're never going to stop, are you?" Ito Sawa couldn't help but complain as he felt his mental sea slowly expanding outside his body while dealing with the mental harassment from Kanzaki.

"I'll need your protection later. I don't want to have a headache because of your negligence."

Kanzaki showed no sign of annoyance, explaining as he gradually increased his mental strength in his attack, testing Ito Sawa's limits.

Anyway, his mental energy recovers quickly enough that even if it all disappears without a trace each time, there is no loss.

Ito Sawa stared speechlessly at the gray chess pieces that were occasionally lit up on the chessboard in his mental sea.

So can someone tell him why Kanzaki is so interested in him? He's clearly someone who hates trouble, so why is he still so enthusiastic even though Kanzaki ignores him so many times?

"Because you and I are very similar, I'm just curious about what you'll do after you understand your own abilities."

As if seeing through his thoughts, Kanzaki spoke up again.

"What do you mean, how do you do it?" Ito Sawa asked, somewhat puzzled.

"It's nothing." Clearly, Kanzaki didn't want to answer.

Soon, they arrived at the swimming pool.

The four entered the swimming pool. The water was as calm as a mirror, showing no signs of anything unusual. Ito Sawa reminded everyone to be on guard, then had Watanabe lead the way.

In the monitoring room, Mr. Yasuda watched as Ito Sawa and his group entered the swimming pool. He then looked away from the other side and guessed their purpose.

It felt like I was the examiner again.

I don't know if it's my own assessment or Rin's assessment.

However, the other side is more dangerous, so it's better to finish this quickly.

As soon as Ito Sawa and the others approached the pool, Yasuda-sensei activated his supernatural ability, causing the water to ripple. Seeing this, Watanabe immediately activated his ability, "Body Prison," confining the surging water within his body. An invisible cage formed around him, firmly controlling the water and preventing its spread.

Kanzaki glanced at the direction the water was rising, assessed the situation, and pointed towards the monitoring room. "Over there."

Seeing that he had determined the direction, Netkura immediately spread his mental energy, enveloping Kanzaki.

Her mental energy was like a warm current, instantly enhancing Kanzaki's mental strength.

Kanzaki closed his eyes and concentrated his mind. His mental power was like a sharp blade, piercing straight into Yasuda-sensei's mental sea.

Mr. Yasuda was clearly unprepared for this unexpected turn of events. The water's restraint startled him for two seconds, but he didn't expect that in those two seconds, Kanzaki would find his true form.

Just as they were about to succeed, a figure suddenly appeared and launched an attack on Kanzaki.

The punch was so powerful that if Kanzaki hadn't trained regularly, it would have been enough to incapacitate him.

Ito Sawa looked closely and saw long hair, a wicked smile, and it was Ryuen Sho?!

Why is he here?

But no matter how surprised Ito Sawa was, the best opportunity had already passed. Yasuda-sensei, disturbed by Ryuen Sho, regained his senses and looked at Kanzaki with a hint of wariness in his eyes.

He then frowned and shouted at Long Yuanxiang, "Your assessment is over. Leave now and don't interfere with the other assessment."

Long Yuanxiang shrugged nonchalantly, a sinister smile spreading across his face: "Fighting slippery water people is no fun at all. Teacher, you should have told me earlier that there were other people here to fight."

Mr. Yasuda frowned, wanting to persuade her further.

Seeing his expression, Long Yuanxiang knew he hadn't figured it out yet, and impatiently said, "The exam rules don't say teachers can't ask others for help, right?"

Mr. Yasuda thought about it and felt that something was not quite right, but he didn't know how to refute him, since the rules did not say that students' strength could not be used as an aid.

After struggling for a while and still not figuring it out, he simply gave up thinking about it and stopped trying to stop Long Yuanxiang, letting him join the fray.

Seeing that he had finally given up trying to persuade him, Long Yuanxiang simply said, "You go and keep an eye on those good-for-nothings' assessment. I can take on the four of them by myself."

As she spoke, she lunged fiercely at the warehouse. She looked rather frail and should be one of the points of attack.

Mr. Yasuda wanted to go and help, but then he heard a warning sound in his head.

The water balloon I used as a warning device broke.

He had no choice but to quickly turn his attention away and control the strength of the Water Spirit fighting against Class C on the other side.

As Ryuen Sho watched Yasuda-sensei leave, he secretly praised Shiina for being reliable, then turned around to prepare for a fight with them.

Meanwhile, Kanzaki had just stood up from the ground, trying to recover from the shock of being punched.

Watanabe was still struggling to restrain the water surging inside his body, and it seemed that no one could stop Ryuen Sho.

Ito Sawa couldn't bring himself to ignore the approaching Ryuen Sho.

So he stepped forward and stood in front of Wang Cang, ready to meet the onslaught from Long Yuanxiang.
