Bo Xingzhou rested his elbows on his knees, his two slender, large hands clasped together, lightly touching his chin, and replied almost without hesitation in a calm tone,

"What else could it be? Of course, it's all about seeking novelty. They've traveled all over the world, both domestically and internationally, and that's not enough. They even dare to venture into the Black Triangle. They're completely clueless!"

Bo Sibai glanced at Yu Jinzhao's small, cold face, which was taut and tense. For some reason, his heart skipped a beat, and he called out softly, "Xingzhou!"

Yu Jinzhao's trembling gaze shifted to Bo Sibai's handsome face. She swallowed hard to ease the sudden surge of emotion. "Does Brother Sibai think so too?"

Bo Sibai paused, then his fingertips trembled slightly. "Jinzhao, I've always known what his purpose was in going out, but it was an impossible thing in itself."

He witnessed his aunt and unborn sister die right before his eyes, so how could he believe Bo Yu'an's absurd claims?

Yu Jinzhao looked at the pain in Bo Sibai's eyes, which felt like the snow spreading across the surface of a winter lake, chilling him to the bone.

His breathing became heavy and labored, tinged with personal emotion, before he finally said, "It's just that you don't believe him."

“You only believe what you see in front of you, but you are unwilling to give your senior brother any trust.”

Bo Xingzhou, with his cold and brooding expression, stubbed out his half-smoked cigarette in the ashtray, his jaw muscles bulging slightly.

Bo Sibai's gentle voice was tinged with a hint of unrest and hoarseness, "He insists on what he sees, but I know very well that it's just his unrealistic fantasy..."

“Brother Sibai once said that family members should trust each other.” Yu Jinzhao curled his fingers into his palms, his voice low and full of disappointment, “Your doubts have caused my senior brother a lot of pain.”

She once thought that Bo Sibai was the kind of brother who would always firmly trust his family.

But it turns out that everyone believes more in their own opinions.

Her senior brother is experiencing everything she has experienced.

Looking into her fox-like eyes, which were remarkably similar to her aunt's, Bo Sibai suddenly felt an inexplicable sense of unease.

The shimmering light in his eyes quickly faded, and his glassy pupils lowered as he stared at her fair cheeks. He said helplessly, "These things can't be confused. I understand that you empathize with Yu'an. You two have a good relationship, and I'm happy for him because you feel sorry for him. But can you try to understand me a little?"

Yu Jinzhao lowered her eyelashes, unable to suppress her emotions, "But I also saw it. I've known my senior brother for two years, and most of the time I've seen him is when he's on his way to find your sister."

“You say he’s playful, but he’s never relaxed for a second. I’ve seen all his hard work over the years, and it can’t be replaced by unrealistic fantasies.”

"He went to Black Ridge City this time, saying he had found traces of your sister. He's certain your sister is alive; otherwise, she wouldn't have abandoned the Bo family, me, and Grandpa to die!"

"That's impossible." Bo Xingzhou's dark pupils contracted, his eyes filled with absurdity.

“My aunt fell into the river with my sister to protect me… I saw her body with my own eyes. Even if the body can be faked, the DNA will never be wrong.”

As he spoke, painful memories surfaced, and he closed his eyes, breathing heavily.

Even after all these years, I still can't calmly face that cruel past.

"My senior brother also said that he met Aunt Bo and your sister three years after Aunt Bo's burial, and Aunt Bo told him to keep it a secret, which means there is another hidden story."

"Aunt Bo is a doctor who has been helping the criminal investigation team with autopsies for many years. Perhaps she used the unidentified corpse and implanted her own DNA to create the illusion."

After Yu Jinzhao finished speaking, he seemed to remember something and stood up, saying, "Wait for me a moment."

After saying that, he ran upstairs, and after a while, he ran back downstairs.

She held a sachet embroidered with cherry blossoms in her hand. It was clearly quite old, with slightly white edges, but the exquisite embroidery was still evident.

"This is something my senior brother kept under his pillow in his room. He said it was given to him by Aunt Bo. You should be able to recognize it, right?"

Bo Xingzhou didn't take Yu Jinzhao's words to heart at all. He only glanced at them casually, but he was suddenly shocked, and his heart felt like it was being pounded by a storm.

Bo Sibai reacted very strongly, snatching the sachet from Yu Jinzhao's hand for the first time, as if holding a rare treasure. He wanted to squeeze it but was afraid of breaking it, and his whole hand turned red.

"This is a sachet that my aunt embroidered halfway back then. It was never finished. I thought it had been washed away in the river and disappeared long ago..."

"How could it be possible? How could it be possible..."

Bo Sibai's fair face was contorted with bulging veins, his eyes darted around, and he could barely speak coherently.

He tried to calm himself down, but his rapid, turbulent breathing was still uncontrollable, and he was extremely agitated.

Bo Xingzhou almost stopped breathing, staring silently at the sachet, his black pupils gradually covered with a layer of cracked ink.

He will never forget that the day his aunt had the accident was in the evening.

The setting sun's afterglow painted the sky crimson, scattering like shattered diamonds across the shimmering river. Reflected through the car window onto my aunt's profile, at that moment, she was more beautiful than the sunset's glow.

He sat in the passenger seat and saw a section of an unfinished sachet peeking out of his aunt's bag; the cherry blossoms on it were only half-embroidered.

He liked it very much and asked his aunt who it was for. His aunt said that she planned to embroider one for each of the three brothers.

He immediately said that he wanted the cherry blossom.

The aunt said gently and indulgently, "Okay, then give the cherry blossoms to our best little waiter."

He was overjoyed and extremely happy, feeling that he was the first to receive the sachet.

Before his smile could even bloom, the beautiful twilight was shattered by a large truck rushing towards him, and the whole world turned upside down and shattered before his eyes.

He felt a sharp pain as his body was thrown and he was sinking rapidly. He heard his aunt's panicked screams. He struggled to open his eyes and saw his aunt reaching out to him. In the instant before he was thrown into the river, she and her sister had used their lives to protect him.

A sudden, tearing pain surged forth, biting at his blood, ripping at his internal organs, and throbbing violently. His lower eyes reddened, and his breathing became heavy.

There's no way they'd admit they're wrong.

This is the sachet that his aunt wanted to give him.

The cherry blossoms that were only half there at first are now complete.

“What Yu’an said is true, Aunt is still alive…” Bo Xingzhou gasped heavily, his trachea twitched, and he coughed forcefully, tears welling in his eyes.

A mixture of pain and joy surged up simultaneously, engulfing the two Bo brothers and catching them off guard, leaving them completely bewildered.

But the two quickly calmed down and remembered that Bo Yu'an said that not long after he saw his aunt and sister alive, a fire took his aunt's life, and his three-year-old sister went missing.

In an instant, the hairs on both of their bodies stood on end.

Many questions lingered in their minds.

First, my aunt did not die in the car accident; she survived and lived with her younger sister in another place.

Why doesn't my aunt go home? Whose body did they pull out? And why is there my aunt's DNA in it?

Secondly, Bo Yu'an told Bo Xingzhou that when he saw his aunt in Guzhou, she seemed to be avoiding someone.

So who exactly targeted Auntie, causing her to leave her hometown and even fake her death to escape?

Third, what happened in that fire? Did the aunt really die in the fire? And where is their little sister?

The two Bo brothers were in a state of confusion, feeling as if there were wisps of fog in front of them.

The answer to the mystery can only be found by finding Bo Yu'an.

He was the only one who had any information about his aunt and sister's lives. He was able to trace it back to Black Ridge City, so it must be related to Black Ridge City.

The brothers' devastating reaction reminded Yu Jinzhao of his own family, who were also searching for their mother, and he felt a pang of empathy, his eyes welling up with tears.

Bo Sibai put away the sachet, slowly turned his eyes, and looked at Yu Jinzhao again, his amber pupils moist as the moon. "Thank you for telling me."

Before Yu Jinzhao could say anything, footsteps came from the other end of the stairs.

Yu Jinzhao turned around and strode forward, looking at Gu Xiao with a mixture of anticipation and nervousness, "Grandpa, how did the talks with them go?"

Gu Xiao narrowed his eyes. "The Grand Elder in charge of Black Ridge City said that their Elder Hall has arrested a troublemaker who resembles Yun Sheng. He is willing to give the Gu family face and release him, but we have to go to his territory to pick him up ourselves."

"Thank you, Mr. Gu. We'll go right away." Bo Xingzhou was eager to leave, with only one thought in his mind and eyes.

Yu'an went to the Elders' Hall; perhaps her aunt and sister were there.

He was going to bring them back.

Gu Xiao raised his hand and said in a deep voice, "He also said that only a maximum of three people are allowed to go, and no more than one person can be brought. He will send someone to meet them at the city gate."

Yu Jinzhao's palms were sweating profusely as he hesitated and said, "What if it's a trap? We're not familiar with the terrain of Black Ridge City at all. Going there would be like throwing ourselves into the lion's den."

Gu Xiao said, "The Gu family has a peace agreement with Black Ridge City. As long as we don't offend them, they won't offend us."

Ultimately, it was Yun Sheng who started the trouble. The Elders' Hall is a vital medical center in Black Ridge City, and their main concern was that the Gu family might have ulterior motives, which is why they made this suggestion.

Yu Jinzhao understood the reasoning, but he was still uneasy.

Bo Sibai breathed a sigh of relief and made his decision, "I will go with Xingzhou."

"Add me one."

Si Qing, who hadn't spoken until now, walked over, his hands casually in his pockets, interrupting Yu Jinzhao's attempt to follow him...

Bo Sibai shook his head and refused, "No, the fewer people who go to such a dangerous place, the less dangerous it is. You should stay and keep Jinzhao company."

Si Qing turned his head to look at Yu Jinzhao. The woman's gaze was unfocused, as if she was also stunned by him.

He blinked slightly, the dark ink in his eyes reflecting the lamplight above, making his usually indifferent face appear stunningly beautiful. "I know a little about the traps and mechanisms in Black Ridge City, I can lead you around them."

Bo Yu'an's unauthorized intrusion into the Elders' Hall could not possibly go unnoticed by the Grand Elder of Black Ridge City.

Perhaps they thought the Gu family was going to take action against Black Ridge City, and their agreement to Gu Xiao's request to pick up the person was just a show of goodwill.

After all, Black Ridge City has so many traps; triggering any one of them would mean certain death.

It's another area where gunfire is uncontrolled, and riots could break out at any moment.

When Bo Sibai and Bo Xingzhou get into trouble, they will only say that it was not intentional and that it was the authorities who did it.

The fault lies with the Gu family, and even if someone dies, they cannot hold Black Ridge City responsible.

Fortunately, he had undergone grueling training in the military and knew a bit about the organization, so he was more secure going with them.

It was not only out of consideration for the Bo family, but also to protect Yu Jinzhao.

Yu Jinzhao's breath hitched. Instinctively, she didn't want Si Qing to go, but she also knew that this was the best solution.

My senior brother is now in the hands of the Elders' Hall. They are under their roof and have no choice but to submit.

Otherwise, they could kill their senior brother at any time.

Si Qing went along to pick up the person; there was still a glimmer of hope.

But it's too dangerous.

The matter was urgent, so Bo Sibai and Bo Xingzhou didn't refuse politely. They simply patted him on the shoulder from one side and bumped fists with him, their affection evident in their gestures. "Thank you, brothers."

"Stop talking nonsense and hurry up."

Si Qing's eyes were cold and clear as he strode out with long, straight steps.

Bo Sibai and Bo Xingzhou followed with calm strides.

Yu Jinzhao stood there, her eyes stinging. She turned to look at Gu Xiao, her expression like that of a lost and bewildered child.

"My grandson-in-law is a real man," Gu Xiao said with a smile, thus acknowledging Si Qing.

A few minutes later, Yu Jinzhao seemed to regain her senses and slowly began to perceive her five senses. The taut string in her mind suddenly snapped, and she chased after him with red eyes.

For the first time in her life, she ran so fast, her heart pounding in her chest, feeling like it was about to shatter from her chaotic steps.

She ran to the end of the covered walkway, which took more than ten minutes to walk, in three minutes. The sharp wind choked her throat, carrying the taste of rust, and even breathing hurt.

As I ran out of the iron gate, I happened to see Si Qing bending down to get into the car.

"Wait a minute." She spoke urgently, but caught a gust of wind and coughed. Not noticing the water pipe on the ground, she tripped.

As she fell, she protected her vital parts.

But then a shadow appeared, and with a whistling sound of footsteps cutting through the wind, before she could land, he stretched out his long arm and lifted her into the air.

A familiar, cool fragrance wafted into her nostrils. Yu Jinzhao looked up and stared at the man's sexy Adam's apple, her eyes welling up with tears.

"Why are you crying? Did you hurt yourself?"

Si Qing's slightly protruding fingers pinched her slender waist, gripping it tightly.

Yu Jinzhao shook his head, feeling as if his throat was blocked, which made him feel very uncomfortable.

Si Qing paused, his eyes darkening, his Adam's apple bobbing forcefully, his voice low and chuckled, "These tears are because you're worried about me, hmm?"

Yu Jinzhao tilted his head back, his breath sinking to the ground, as if advising him, "Think it over carefully, it's very dangerous there."

Si Qing's lips curved into a shallow smile as he lowered his head and leaned closer, his domineering breath landing on her face.

"I know."

After a few seconds of silence, he seriously considered it and said firmly, "I've thought it through. I can't bear to see Madam cry."

He held her reddened lips tightly, his palm moving up her back, and suddenly he had a crazy urge to kiss her.

He unconsciously gripped her neck, but only quietly nuzzled her nose. His stern jawline straightened, he swallowed hard, and reluctantly put her down.

"It's windy outside, go back inside and wait for me to come back."

The voice was hoarse in the throat.

He took a few steps back and slowly opened the car door.

Yu Jinzhao felt a lump in his throat, and his voice was hoarse, "Be careful."

He kept looking at her, his expression seemingly frozen, his deep and fierce gaze gradually becoming clearer and colder. "Don't worry, I will help you bring him back."

As he spoke, he closed the car door, blocking the view.

Once you look again, you won't want to leave.

Yu Jinzhao stood there blankly. Bo Xingzhou, sitting in the passenger seat, seemed to remember something, leaned out, and said to her in a calm tone, "The results are in for the ring you asked me to investigate last time."

Yu Jinzhao's heart pounded with tension, her face still pale, as she stared intently at him.

Bo Xingzhou raised an eyebrow slightly, revealing a thoughtful expression. "The source is Yu An. You've known him for two years, you should know that."

It was as if a blow had struck him head-on, leaving Yu Jinzhao with a buzzing in his ears and completely bewildered.

Only after the car disappeared from her sight did she walk back to the living room of the mansion, sitting there in a daze, slowly processing the lingering effects of her sobs.

She frowned, took out the ring sewn into her coat pocket, her mind in turmoil.

The thumb ring was given to me by my father; it was a keepsake from my mother, who had said it was given to her by her maternal family.
