As dawn broke, the light streamed in through the carved and openwork windows, filling the room with a warm glow.

This was Yu Jinzhao's first time spending the night in the Imperial Garden. Unaccustomed to the unfamiliar environment, she barely slept last night. When she opened her eyes, her clear pupils were tinged with a beautiful crimson.

She got up, walked to the window, and opened it, revealing a garden full of lush greenery.

The tall crabapple tree bursts forth with a rich and stunningly beautiful color. Sparrows perch on the branches, chirping and twittering. A morning breeze blows, and birds and petals flutter together, creating a scene as refreshing as a spring breeze.

From now on, she will live in such a beautiful place, which is probably the only thing she is happy about about marrying Si Qing.

Yu Jinzhao took a deep breath, and the corners of his lips curled up slightly.

After washing up, she slung her bag over her shoulder and went out to find Song Jingshu.

Half an hour later, Yu Jinzhao arrived at a small coffee shop outside the Third Ring Road.

This shop was owned by Song Jingshu. Knowing that Yu Jinzhao was coming, she was already waiting at the shop entrance.

After not seeing each other for three years, the two best friends spontaneously hugged each other.

"Jinzhao, it's been so long! I've missed you so much!" Song Jingshu held Yu Jinzhao's hand tightly, her eyes slightly moist.

A warm feeling rose in Yu Jinzhao's heart, and she followed her into the store and sat at the bar.

"Here you go, your favorite coconut latte, less ice, very sweet." Song Jingshu stood behind the bar and pushed the prepared coffee in front of Yu Jinchao.

It was still early, and the coffee shop was quiet with no customers yet.

Song Jingshu had many private things she wanted to say to Yu Jinzhao, but before she could speak, she was interrupted by a solicitous voice.

"Hey! Miss Yu is back in the country!" The person who came was Song Jingshu's mother, her eyes shining with excitement as she stared at Yu Jinzhao.

"Shushu knew you were coming today, and she was so excited last night that she didn't sleep. She made your favorite dessert in the middle of the night."

As she spoke, she noticed that Yu Jinzhao only had coffee beside her, and couldn't help but pat Song Jingshu on the head, "You child, why don't you bring the dessert over to Miss Yu? How can you be full just by drinking coffee?"

Song Jingshu looked bewildered. She had never made desserts for Yu Jinzhao in the middle of the night. Did she not even know how to make them properly?

Song Ma, unsuspecting, turned and went into the storeroom, bringing out plates of exquisite pastries and piling them all in front of Yu Jinzhao, her attitude one could only be described as extremely obsequious.

"Try it, Shushu made all of this. She's so good to you." Song Ma smiled obsequiously, thinking she had gotten away with it perfectly.

Little did Yu Jinchao know that these desserts were exquisitely crafted and could not possibly be made by Song Jingshu, who was good at nothing but eating.

However, considering that the other party was Song Jingshu's mother, Yu Jinzhao smiled gently and did not expose her.

Song Jingshu was speechless at her mother's behavior.

Their family was an ordinary family, so Song's mother especially hoped that Yu Jinzhao could help her soar to great heights, and that the Song family could also benefit from it.

"Mom, that's enough."

Seeing that Song Ma was talking endlessly to Yu Jinzhao, Song Jingshu helplessly pushed her mother away, "Jinzhao and I still have to talk, don't disturb us."

"Okay, you two chat, I'll go buy some groceries and have Miss Yu eat here for lunch." Song Ma turned and left happily.

Song Jingshu rubbed her forehead and muttered, "My mom is so annoying, let's go outside next time."

Yu Jinzhao couldn't help but chuckle, "It's alright, your mom's saying things is quite interesting."

Song Jingshu shrugged, looked her up and down, and grinned mischievously, "By the way, how did your studies with Master Si go last night?"

Upon hearing this, Yu Jinzhao rolled her eyes at her and said irritably, "Thanks to your incompetence, I almost didn't see the sun today."

Then she asked, "Did you bring the things I asked you to keep for me?"

"Don't worry about me, it's right here." Song Jingshu blinked and took out a rectangular enamel box from the cabinet under the bar.

The box is exquisitely crafted, with a smooth and lustrous finish and fine texture, giving it a mysterious and weighty feel.

This is a memento left to her by her mother.
