Lin Tian was annoyed but helpless: "Let's hide for now, otherwise we won't be able to run anymore."

The Empress, holding the little black bear, noticed that its wound was bleeding profusely from the rain. She panicked, exclaiming, "Brother, what if Little Black bleeds even more?!"

Lin Tian reached out his claw and touched it, and saw that the wound had indeed reopened. To make matters worse, the herbs had rotted and were no longer effective.

"This damn weather is awful," Lin Tian cursed under his breath, then touched the little black bear's forehead, which was burning hot.

He wanted to get something good to save the little black bear's life, but who knew if the system could produce any medicine?

Lin Tian was sweating profusely with worry: "Damn it, if Xiao Hei really dies, I might as well give it the Qi Luck Pill to save its life. After all, it's the apple of my eye."

[Ding! Host has entered the area map, triggering a hidden opportunity.]

Lin Tian was taken aback. An opportunity? What opportunity? This place is all mud and water, what treasures could there be?

Another notification followed: [Notification: Mudslides are eroding the underground, and 'dragon bones' may appear at the edges. Activate detection?]

keel?!

Lin Tian's head buzzed. This thing sounded extraordinary. Legend has it that dragon bones are a treasure for mending the sky and that eating them can make one ascend to immortality.

He was both overjoyed and suspicious: "Really? You're not going to scam me again, are you?"

The system, of course, offered no further explanation, simply stating, "[Consuming 30 points of divine power, initiating detection.]"

Lin Tian rolled his eyes, but couldn't resist his curiosity. He thought to himself, even if it's a fantasy legend, I have to go and see for myself.

"Probe!" he murmured to himself.

In an instant, the system projected a rudimentary map into his mind, seemingly showing a location not far above the mountainside where they were, marked with a glittering dot.

Lin Tian couldn't contain his excitement: "There really is something! It's right there on that mountain above us?"

His mind raced: "Should I go take a look? Maybe I can find some treasure to help me break through. But with this storm and dangerous terrain... Damn it, I have the blessing of luck, what's there to be afraid of!"

Thinking of this, he suddenly stood up and shouted at the Empress and the Goddess of Asura, "You two stay here and don't move. I'm going out to check the situation."

"Are you out of your mind? It's raining so hard, and you still want to run outside?" The Goddess of Asura was so angry she almost bit him. "Besides, the little black bear is almost dead, and you, instead of going out to have fun, are you?"

Lin Tian was too lazy to waste words with her, so he turned his back and prepared to leave.

The Empress cried out anxiously, "Brother, don't abandon us! Little Black, you should do something about him too!"

Lin Tian glanced at the unconscious little black bear and sighed helplessly, "Well then, I'll think of a way to stop the bleeding first."

He took out his dagger-like claws and quickly cut off a few relatively intact large leaves and some hastily torn vines, then wrapped them back around the little black bear's wound.

At the same time, he instructed the monkeys: "Keep a close eye on it and don't let it move around. If it wakes up, give it some water."

The Empress stamped her foot: "Is that all? Is that enough?"

Lin Tian simply bit his tongue, squeezed out a few drops of tortoise blood containing spiritual energy, and smeared it on the little black bear's mouth: "Drink my blood, at least it can hold out for a while."

The Asura Goddess glanced at it and remarked, "It's really thick," but didn't say anything more.

The monkeys stared in disbelief, chattering amongst themselves.

Lin Tian was too lazy to explain, and the heavy rain poured down again: "Don't stray too far from this depression. Once the rain subsides, climb to higher ground. I'll go check if there's a safe exit on the upper part of the mountain."

After saying that, he didn't wait for the Empress to nag any further and ducked into the rain.

The sounds of wind, thunder, and rain filled the air, and the entire mountain forest was filled with raging floodwaters and rolling rocks.

Lin Tian was shivering from the rain, but he grinned excitedly: "Heaven is really sending me an opportunity. Dragon bones? Hey, I'm definitely getting my hands on those!"

He stepped over the rocks and climbed upwards, following the flashing location provided by the system, stumbling all the way to the edge of a landslide.

A huge, messy pit appeared before us, seemingly just washed out by a torrential rain. The surrounding soil was still sliding down, and some strangely shaped white stones were exposed at the bottom.

"Damn, this is dragon bone?"

Lin Tian held his breath and carefully slid down into the mud pit, braving the rain. Upon closer inspection, he indeed saw several skeletal structures, as thick as roof beams and with spiral patterns, scattered in the mud.

The skeleton gleamed with a pure white luster, completely different from ordinary animal bones, giving it an air of mystery.

"Holy crap, this thing is huge! It must be tens of meters long!" Lin Tian exclaimed in shock. "Is it really a dragon skeleton? What was this thing when it was alive? It could blot out the sky!"

He stood there for a few seconds, and then the system notification popped up again.

[Ding! This dragon bone contains the residual power of an ancient venomous dragon; any creature that ingests it will die.]

"What? Poisonous dragon? And I can't eat it?" Lin Tian almost vomited blood.

He had originally hoped to eat a few pieces of dragon bone to enhance his strength, like a snake swallowing an elephant, but now the system says they are poisonous dragon bones, and eating them will surely lead to death.

"What the hell? Are you kidding me? What's the point of all that effort I put into finding it?!" Lin was so angry he almost cursed.

But then a small system window popped up: [Hidden Quest Issued: 'Guard the Poison Dragon Vein'. Rebury the dragon bones and seal them with spiritual power. Quest Reward: Tortoise Shell Upgrade +1.]

"Guardian? And you want me to bury it? I searched for ages only to have it all for nothing?" Lin Tian was inexplicably frustrated. "Upgrade the tortoise shell one more level... Even though it can harden, I really want to just transform into a human!"

He was actually a little conflicted. Upgrading his tortoise shell would indeed save his life, but what he really wanted was to be able to transform into human form—how awesome would that be?

But the quest has already been triggered, and the system is clearly telling him that this is a poisonous dragon bone that will kill him if he eats it. He has no choice but to either ignore it or not.

"But wouldn't it be fine to just leave it here? Who cares if it lives or dies?" Lin Tian thought, but then he immediately thought, "What if some other animal sees this bone and tries to gnaw on it? If it turns into a monster or a poisonous dragon, wouldn't it eat me up?"

Thinking of this, he felt a chill run down his spine: "Fine, for the sake of my life, I have no choice but to bury this thing again."

The system added insult to injury: [If the Poison Dragon Bone is exposed for too long, it will release a powerful aura, attracting a frenzy of beasts. If absorbed, the consequences would be unimaginable.]

"What a menace!" Lin Tian slammed his fist on the ground. "Then I'll bury it completely!"

Without hesitation, he took a deep breath, forcibly circulated the spiritual energy within his body, and gritted his teeth, trying to put the bones back into the mud. But the bones were too big; how could his small tortoise body possibly carry bones several meters long?

"Isn't this ridiculous? Even large rocks are hard to move, let alone these few that are even more exaggerated than stone pillars?" Lin Tian was speechless.

No sooner had the words been spoken than a roar came from afar, mixed with a jumble of animal howls, sending chills down one's spine.

"Damn it, could it be those guys who sensed the dragon bone's aura and came all over here?" Lin Tian suddenly realized with a jolt. "Holy crap, this plot is too exciting! Are they trying to kill me?"
