Don't pretend, everyone knows you're the villain!

Chapter 40 Fighting evil with evil

Blocked outside the Demon Gate, Xi Mingzhu pushed twice but couldn't budge it. Xi Mingzhu realized the problem—multiple players using the same passage were only allowed to enter one door at a time?

If three or four players choose the same passage, someone will be eliminated when choosing a door, and they will be trapped here and unable to move forward.

This copy is being forcibly split and phased out.

Thankfully, there were only ten people and six passageways.

The initial diversion was designed to prevent strangers from taking the same route. The ten people were either traveling in pairs or alone, so there shouldn't be any bottlenecks here.

So what is the purpose behind those two doors?

Xi Mingzhu pushed open the door to the angel painting. Inside, there were no players, only a child.

The child saw Xi Mingzhu and ran over excitedly, "I'm Peter, nice to meet you!"

"..." Xi Mingzhu remained silent. Could the NPCs behind the Demon Gate be those at the entrance? If so, with opposing factions, he would inevitably have to fight Lu Tiannan later, and his chances of winning were not high.

Peter, seeing that Xi Mingzhu remained silent, tilted his head in confusion.

"Brother, are you mute?"

0561 couldn't help but burst out laughing and vomited.

Xi Mingzhu pursed his lips and said calmly, "No."

"Brother chose the kind angel, and the angel will protect every kind person, so brother can go directly to the hall!!" Peter said happily, jumping up and down.

Xi Mingzhu asked, puzzled, "Then what is your purpose in appearing here?"

Peter was stunned, then obediently pointed to the door and said, "Send the brothers and sisters who chose the angels to the hall."

The door requires a key, and Peter has the key. The question is, can't the player open it themselves? What is the purpose of Peter's presence?

Peter seemed to understand Xi Mingzhu's confusion and said crisply, "The key can only be used indefinitely if it's in my hands. If it's given to the other brothers and sisters, it can only be used once. If I'm not here, only one of you can leave alive. Because you chose the angels as good people, I will let you all leave."

"Choose the demon?" Xi Mingzhu had seen Lu Tiannan go through that door with his own eyes. If there was only one key, Lu Tiannan wouldn't give anyone else a chance.

Peter pouted, "The devil is Mom's room, and Mom has three keys. If Mom leaves the room, there will only be two keys left."

After Peter finished speaking, he led the candle into the hall.

Xi Mingzhu then understood the true meaning of the Morse code on the wall.

1. [The central hall is safe. You may encounter acquaintances before reaching the hall.] Angels can directly enter the safe hall, but for two people traveling together, one of them must choose the demon. Xi Mingzhu clearly remembered that there were two couples ahead of them, and including him and Lu Tiannan, the last two female players also seemed to know each other.

If the other two solo players do not choose the Devil Room, then the two-person team alone will result in four people in the Devil Room.

Four people is still the most ideal outcome.

Fighting over two keys will inevitably lead to mutual destruction.

3. [The false terror will gradually become real, and through certain means you will obtain the key to escape.] The false terror doesn't refer to the dolls and skeletons, but to the players. Strangers wouldn't normally have any conflict of interest, but the Devil's Room forces a life-or-death struggle, turning people into demons to kill.

The fear of dolls stems from panic that exceeds the scope of cognition; the malice in people's hearts is the most real and terrifying.

With only two keys, no player would choose to kill the NPC at the entrance to obtain the key as soon as they enter the dungeon. Even Lu Tiannan didn't do that, let alone anyone else.

Xi Mingzhu was the only player to reach the lobby. He wasn't worried that Lu Tiannan wouldn't be able to get out, but Lu Tiannan was inside... Given that there were two keys, it wasn't certain that two players would come out. Lu Tiannan was an uncontrollable variable.

In the devil's room, Lu Tiannan walked towards the bald, burly man with a faint smile.

"You have the key, why aren't you leaving?"

The bald, burly man had, of course, tried to get out but couldn't. This room required everyone to be present before only two people could take the key and leave.

There's no reason he couldn't kill this man who looks like an elite professional.

Pick out the soft persimmons and pinch them.

"Go to hell!" the bald, burly man said, pulling out a small knife and charging at Lu Tiannan.

Lu Tiannan raised an eyebrow, not expecting that this person would be so decisive in eliminating the other players to protect himself.

Ironically, he wasn't exactly a kind person either.

Fight evil with evil.

"It's just a question, why are you so angry? Let me calm you down?" Lu Tiannan was no match for even a berserk NPC, and this player in front of him seemed to be the type who was all brawn and no brains. He had no interest in fighting this kind of person.

Lu Tiannan twisted the bald man's wrist, which was holding the knife, and raised his long leg to sweep it towards the man's neck. The bald man grimaced in pain, feeling dizzy. Despite the pain, the man slashed at Lu Tiannan with the knife.

Lu Tiannan swiftly retracted his leg and moved closer. With a snap, he dislocated the burly man's arm, causing the man's grip on the knife to loosen, and the knife fell to the ground.

The burly man, disregarding his own arm, immediately reacted and bent down to pick up his knife.

Lu Tiannan wasn't about to give him a chance; he kicked the other man in the stomach.

The bald, burly man sat back down on the ground, glared at Lu Tiannan, and spat viciously, "Grandson."

"You still have the energy to curse? I went too easy on you." Lu Tiannan slowly unbuttoned his sleeves and rolled them up, then picked up the knife the big man had thrown on the ground with a smile.

Lu Tiannan slowly approached the bald, burly man, casually gripping his knife.

“I didn’t intend to use a weapon to cut you with your knife as an apology for insulting me.”

The burly man sat on the ground and backed away, his face filled with terror.

"What are you doing? Murder is illegal!! You can't kill me..."

Lu Tiannan clutched his stomach, slowly bent over, and chuckled coldly.

He reached up and took off his glasses without lenses, then put them in his pants pocket.

"Idiot, talking about the law here... are you a three-year-old?"

Lu Tiannan's eyes were wet with laughter as he brought down his knife, slashing at the big man's leg.

The burly man went berserk and forcefully tackled Lu Tiannan to the ground. He then used his other good arm to strangle Lu Tiannan's neck.

Lu Tiannan's smile remained unchanged, but his eyes were filled with coldness.

Throughout the entire ordeal, Lu Tiannan never loosened his grip on the knife.

The burly man's face lit up with glee as he saw that he had Lu Tiannan by the neck. His ruthlessness was palpable as veins bulged on his forehead, and he strained to strangle Lu Tiannan to death.

Lu Tiannan didn't take him seriously at all, and with a swift motion, plunged a knife into the center of the other man's neck.

The big man's blood flowed onto Lu Tiannan's body, soaking a small patch of his black shirt.

Lu Tiannan pushed the corpse away with disdain, stood up, and looked down at the unseeing corpse with contempt.

"Don't be happy too soon. Maybe you should be happier in your next life."

Lu Tiannan stripped the other person clean and found only two keys.

"Swallowed it? It's not good to get used to eating everything." Lu Tiannan looked at the three empty key boxes and took the knife off the big man's neck.

The knife moved down the throat.
