Chapter 37 Jade Entanglement
After Cheng Kaiji finished shouting, sounds immediately rose and fell from the room. The loudest sound came from Ge Qingqing. He called out "Qiao Qiao" and then hopped out, losing one of his shoes in the process. Perhaps because his wound was still hurting, he grimaced in pain as he moved, and then glared at Qiao Ran with a ferocious expression.
Qiao Ran steadied him and asked with concern, "Are you alright? Be careful."
"It's nothing, it's nothing," Ge Qingqing stopped in front of Qiao Ran and smiled happily, "What could possibly happen to me? Look at me, I'm perfectly fine."
As he spoke, he pounded his chest twice like a monkey.
Qiao Ran stopped crying and started laughing. Everyone had been discharged from the hospital. Qiao Ran looked at them one by one and said to herself with remorse, "I'm sorry."
"Look at our Qiaoqiao, it's good that she's back, it's good that she's back."
"What do you mean 'sorry'?" Gou Fugui kicked Ge Qingqing's shoe at him and said nonchalantly, "We were so afraid that you would be angry and not come back, Qiaoqiao. We were scared to death."
“Exactly,” Shan Nian said, “we’ve been so worried we haven’t been able to sleep these past few days.”
Qiao Ran felt a warm glow in her heart and pulled them into the house, saying, "Quickly lie down and don't move around."
“We’re really fine,” Ge Qingqing pulled over a stool, sat down, and immediately sat up again, grinning. “We’re relieved to see that you’re alright, Qiaoqiao.”
That day, they waited outside the door for Wu Yang to channel his internal energy into Qiao Ran to neutralize the Marrow Cleansing Pill within her body. They waited until dawn before they had to notify the master of the other courtyard. Soon after, Zhou Mu came and took the unconscious Qiao Ran away.
The next day, the guards at the villa gave them a beating. They only knew that Qiao Ran was still unconscious. They were all beaten. At first, they were a little angry, but after two days without seeing Qiao Ran return, their anger subsided and they were more worried.
Qiao Ran looked around and asked, "Where are the commander and the others?"
There was a moment of silence in the room. Cheng Kaiji smiled and said, "The regimental commander is resting in his room. He's doing well."
"Really?"
"Really? Why doesn't Qiaoqiao believe us anymore?"
Qiao Ran observed their expressions; their eyes were darting around, clearly they were hiding something from her. She turned and left, saying, "Then I'll go see the commander."
Everyone's faces froze instantly. They all wanted to pull Qiao Ran away, but Qiao Ran was a soft and delicate girl, and they realized that it wasn't appropriate for each of them to lend a hand. In the blink of an eye, Qiao Ran had already started running away.
"Hey, Qiaoqiao!" Ge Qingqing called out.
Qiao Ran ran to Wu Yang's door and knocked. "Commander?"
"come in."
Wu Yang was inside. Qiao Ran pushed open the door and went in. She saw Pei Chenghu was also there. The two were sitting at the table talking. Wu Yang was fine, with a slightly tired smile. As for Pei Chenghu, he didn't look at her with a friendly gaze. He glanced at her coldly, got up and left.
"Deputy Regiment Commander Pei?" Qiao Ran called out to him.
Pei Chenghu gave a curt "hmm" from a distance and strode away.
Qiao Ran sat down in front of Wu Yang, revealing a slightly apologetic expression. "Captain, is my internal energy yours?"
Wu Yang nodded. "Your meridians are still weak and you can't fully utilize them yet. Don't move around recklessly, or you'll suffer a qi deviation."
Qiao Ran was still shaken.
"It's my fault for dragging the commander down with me."
Some people spend their entire lives trying to master an internal energy cultivation method, but to reach the level of Wu Yang, one must have exerted an effort that ordinary people cannot, and poured their heart and soul into it to achieve such great success.
Qiao Ran was not completely ignorant. When she saw Pei Chenghu's indifferent attitude towards her, she understood that Wu Yang had paid a heavy price.
Therefore, she felt particularly guilty. Wu Yang got up, took out a set of mental cultivation techniques from under his pillow, and handed them to Qiao Ran.
“Qiaoqiao, you don’t need to blame yourself,” Wu Yang said. “Tuoyue Pavilion hasn’t been this happy in a long time. Everyone was so lifeless every day, but you’ve brought it back to life in just two days. We are family.”
As a family, they treated each other as one and the same. Wu Yang was willing to pass on all his knowledge to Qiao Ran, hoping that Qiao Ran would consider this place her home.
Qiao Ran took the manual; the ink was still fresh, indicating it was newly transcribed. This manual was called "Azure Entanglement."
"This is the cultivation method within me?"
Wu Yang's gaze lingered on Bi Chan for a long time before he gently ran his rough fingertips across the corner of the page. "Bi Chan is an internal energy cultivation method, the most superior one. I thought I would never be able to teach it to you in my life, Qiao Qiao."
Qiao Ran looked up.
As Wu Yang recalled the past, his face softened. "From now on, you will take my place as the successor of Bi Chan."
The green water is like silk threads, which are intertwined with the blue water, and the strings of a broken string are broken.
Qiao Ran's hands are a perfect match for Bi Chan's.

As spring arrived, Sichuan became increasingly warm, and Chen Jiu no longer needed to wear a heavy cloak when he went out. Occasionally, he would sit alone in the pavilion in the courtyard, ordering someone to bring him pen, ink, paper, and inkstone to write letters and send them to people far away.
Zhou Mu ran in from outside, "Young Master, letter."
Qiao smiled upon receiving the letter.
It was another letter from Miss Qiao. Everyone quietly retreated outside. Chen Jiu opened the letter, and the handwriting inside was round and lovely, unlike that of someone who had practiced calligraphy since childhood. The densely packed words described the scenery along the way.
Qiao Ran wrote in her letter that they had arrived in Xuecheng and had picked up a batch of high-quality medicinal herbs on the way back to Shu. She asked if Jinzhou had received them.
How have you been lately? Have you gone out for a spring outing in the city?
The journey to Syracuse was fraught with difficulties, but fortunately, with the help of the group leader and everyone else, we managed to arrive safely despite the bumps and bruises.
Chen Jiu read it word by word, and Qiao Ran's bright and beautiful face, like a secluded orchid in a valley, appeared in his mind. The girl's every frown and smile was like a dazzling star, and her slightly upturned eyes sometimes revealed the arrogance deep in her bones.
When she wrote the letter, the corners of her lips must have been slightly upturned, playful and flamboyant, quite different from her handwriting.
Snow City is as pristine as its name suggests, covered in snow year-round. As far as the eye can see, the vast plateau stretches out in a blanket of white. Yet, the people of Snow City are incredibly warm and welcoming, like the winter sun and a sacred flame. After resting and recuperating, they will pass through Snow City on their way to the boundless snowy land.
Chen Jiu was afraid of snow and couldn't stand the cold, so he could only imagine what Snow City looked like through Qiao Ran's descriptions. Qiao Ran told him in a letter that she would take him to see it when he recovered.
Chen Jiu smiled, his long, slender fingers slowly tracing the surface of the letter, reading each word carefully.
Qiao Ran also said that she had already mastered the first level of her Jade Entanglement technique. Wu Yang praised her for her high level of comprehension, saying that given time, she might be able to reach the supreme realm of the eighth level even faster than him. Qiao Ran was very happy and felt that she would definitely become a master in the future.
After reading it, Chen Jiu carefully put it away and sat in the pavilion, lost in thought. He wanted to tell Qiao Ran that those beautiful fantasies about the future only existed in her remaining carefree time.
"Tenth Brother," Chen Jiu stood up and walked to the outside of the pavilion, standing with his hands behind his back, his eyes filled with sorrow.
Xie Laoshi stepped forward, "Young master, they have all been brought here. Would you like to see them?"
Chen Jiu didn't seem to care much and waved his hand, "Clean it up."
His calm tone was laced with murderous intent, cold and ruthless.
Xie Laoshi accepted the order, grabbed the hand at his side, and went to the dark prison. The innermost part was filled with people: trembling old people, women tightly holding children, men in their prime... the cells were crowded with people.
They huddled together in fear, their eyes filled with endless terror. They didn't know where they were or who they had offended. They had been working hard at home just yesterday, and now they were locked up in this dark, gloomy dungeon.
Xie Laoshi stopped in front of them, and the babies immediately began to cry. The woman tightly covered the child's mouth, knelt on the ground in fear, and begged in a sobbing voice, "Sir, spare our lives! Sir, spare our lives!"
The child was still crying uncontrollably, and the dark prison only added to the anxiety.
