"See? I told you no one would refuse to be friends with a Malfoy."

Draco, head held high and voice booming, looked more and more like a weasel leaning on its hind legs and tilting its head—well, I have to admit, if it weren't for the fanfiction filter at play, I might not have been able to stand it.

"Okay, sure," I said, trying to make my tone more sincere, while also thinking of the best reason to leave.

To be honest, I have mixed feelings about Draco.

On the one hand, he is very unlikable in the original work, and on the other hand, he has a huge popularity in fan fiction. The combination of the two has transformed an annoying character into a tsundere young master... This is not entirely true, and Draco is not a true tsundere in the traditional sense, but it has influenced my judgment of him to some extent.

Draco's personality is quite distinctive. Although I haven't spent much time with him, I've already managed to come up with some tips for getting along with him.

If you want a peaceful campus life, it's best not to show obvious avoidance or resistance when you encounter Draco. It's easy to directly provoke Draco's displeasure, and at best you'll be given a contemptuous glare, and at worst you'll be targeted by him from all sides like Harry.

However, it's best not to be too attentive. Anyone of lower status will easily be looked down upon. To maintain a peaceful life, it's best to stay away from him, especially since Draco is of mixed race. He won't casually get close to an unfamiliar mixed-race student... unless he has ulterior motives.

In that sense, I should thank Willotte. Draco's relatively friendly attitude towards me was mostly due to his fear of Willotte, and partly because I didn't show any obvious resistance and kept going along with him.

However, the premise of going along with Draco is to try to avoid pleasing neither side. You must be vigilant when you are with him. You should refuse when you should refuse and say nice things when you should say nice things. I am just being cautious and not wanting to make enemies with Draco. I don't really want to have any special relationship with him. There is no need to lower myself.

So when I was walking along the street and Draco angrily questioned me about why I was hanging out with Harry Potter and the other two, I quickly racked my brains before answering him.

I first cut out the beginning and end, naturally concealing the important information, and directly said that Willotte told me about the dragon egg, and then I went with Willotte to see the dragon egg out of curiosity.

Then I gave a very brief explanation of why I knew the three kids. The gist of it was that I was friends with Hermione, and I met Harry and Ron through her, but I wasn't very familiar with them.

I glossed over the explanation, subtly shifting the focus to Draco's fondness for dragons.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know you liked dragons, Malfoy." I showed a little guilt and then gave a perfunctory compliment, "You know so much about dragons, that's amazing."

"Hmph, of course." Thanks to Merlin's stinky stockings that hadn't been washed for three days, Draco immediately became proud when he heard someone praising him, especially in a way that interested him. He snorted and started bragging.

"If it weren't for the Ministry of Magic's ban, the Malfoy family could definitely keep a dragon, such a noble creature."

"Hagrid must have gotten incredibly lucky. This is a Norwegian Ridgeback! It can breathe fire! You can tell how powerful it is just by looking at its spikes! Hagrid actually fed it dead rats. He doesn't have the right conditions, but he still insists on having it. If I had that dragon, it would definitely be taken better care of at Malfoy Manor."

"Ahaha, really..."

"Let me tell you, Norwegian Spinosaurus can grow to..." Draco got carried away and started talking about a bunch of things related to dragons, veerging from the original topic. I listened to him with a smile, occasionally chiming in.

"Oh, is that so?"

"I think I've seen this in that book before..."

"I didn't know that before..."

"Malfoy knows a lot."

Me: (Smiling professionally)

Draco, beaming with pride, found it hard to stop once his desire to share was unleashed, and he began to boast about the magical creatures he kept on his estate.

"Wow, that's amazing!" I genuinely thought it was amazing and enviable. The Malfoys did indeed keep a lot of strange and magical animals. For a moment, I thought that if I had such a big manor, I would also keep magical animals.

My attitude became more positive. Draco was still saying that he couldn't share things about dragons with the other Slytherins and had been holding back his anger for a long time. Now he couldn't wait to unleash a whole bunch of pent-up frustration, while also not forgetting his original intention and taking the opportunity to diss Harry and Ron.

“If you have the chance, maybe you can go and take a look.” Draco got carried away by my praise and immediately regretted saying it. He had no intention of letting Claire, an unknown half-blood, come to Malfoy Manor. But he quickly straightened up and realized that he had just said it casually.

"Really?" I said, maintaining my polite demeanor throughout.

Draco was getting carried away again. He wasn't familiar with me, and he only talked to me to test Willotte. But now he was starting to think I was a pretty good person, at least I had good taste and a pleasant voice.

"See? I told you no one would refuse to be friends with a Malfoy."

He proclaimed it, with a hint of secret competitiveness.

A gaze fell upon Draco.

?

Wait, why do I suddenly feel a chill down my spine?

I quickly turned my head and realized what was happening after Draco's expression suddenly changed.

Sure enough, my dear Willotte was watching Draco and me with a beaming smile.

"What a coincidence, Claire."

The gentle words and the approaching figure made Draco instinctively want to back away in fear, but he held back.

I:?

For some reason, this scene feels somewhat familiar.

But don't panic.

"What a coincidence, good afternoon, Willotte," I replied with a smile.
