"Is that child a member of the Gaunt family?"

"I've heard that's true."

"Then she probably...you guys forgot, those previous ones weren't normal people either."

"Didn't they say the Gaunt family was dead this generation... Hmph, I wonder where this kid came from."

"Who knows..."

……

"Thank you so much, Gunter!"

"It's nothing, I just helped out a little. I believe anyone would help someone in trouble."

"Gunter, you're so kind. Thank you for helping me find my thing..."

"It was just a small favor, no need to be so polite. There's no need to be so formal between friends."

……

“Gaunt is unlike any other Slytherin; he is a very good person.”

"Thanks……"

"Miss Willotte is so beautiful..."

"Thanks for the compliment."

……

"I understand! Gunter is so smart!"

Ravenclaw, standing nearby, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the blonde girl in front of her, whose question, which had been troubling her for a long time, was easily explained by Willotte.

"It's alright, you can ask me if you don't understand anything." Willott smiled, her lips curving upwards, looking gentle and smug. "You're smart too, you just just didn't think of that point."

"Besides..." A smile crept into her purple eyes, her tone seemingly pointed, "We're all classmates, isn't it only natural to help each other?"

The clumsy Ravenclaw thanked Willotte again, then happily left with his notebook full of notes.

"..." The figure receded into the distance, and a quiet atmosphere enveloped her. Willotte's smile remained unchanged, but her eyes gradually turned cold, extinguishing all her emotions.

According to the plan, no one else will come looking for her today. What should she do next...? Should she continue studying magic, or go to the prefect to ask a question, or should she test Quirrell...?

The task was clearly written on the screen that only she could see.

[Issue system task:]

Discover Professor Quirrell's secrets.

Success: Unlocked Dark Lord's Secret Story 1, increased the friendship level with important characters.

Failure: Important information missing, plot deviation increased (Note: Excessive deviation will result in system unbinding).

Willotte organizes her thoughts.

Those secrets...

The system said that the purpose of all missions is to help her become the next Dark Lord.

It will continuously issue tasks, which are based on some strange judgment and present different rewards and punishments, but it is more like guidance than coercion.

Some seemingly simple tasks may have severe penalties, while others that are more difficult may have negligible penalties. Spells, magical items, and secrets are the most common rewards for success.

The system seems to prefer issuing what it considers the optimal solution. Anything it thinks will help Willotte become the Dark Lord could become one of the tasks, such as befriending people and professors from various academies, achieving a certain academic level, or learning a certain magic within a limited time.

Tasks like these often don't incur any penalties, and the results are always within a controllable range, making the system seem quite lenient at first glance.

However, there are some very special tasks among them, which are like nodes that the system requires to be completed.

Willotte had a guess in her mind.

Since acquiring the system, the task logic it issues has revolved around a predetermined line, and no deviation is allowed before reaching the inevitable endpoint. Tasks on this line are mandatory, while the remaining guiding tasks are the cornerstones that drive this line forward, and are extensions outside of this line.

What will this line be? And what will happen if it deviates from the line?

What is the purpose of the system? Is it really as simple as cultivating the Dark Lord?

What is Professor Quirrell hiding behind his headscarf?

What is the three-headed dog on the fourth floor guarding? Dumbledore must be involved, but what is his purpose?

What secrets does Harry Potter hold? And how are important figures determined?

Also, there is...

There are still many unsolved mysteries.

A glint flashed in Willotte's eyes. She breathed a sigh of relief, her body relaxing. With no one to distract her, that overwhelming feeling of exhaustion spread through her body once again.

Willotte showed no signs of fatigue; her smile and appearance remained impeccable.

Everything was still within tolerable limits, Willotte thought.

The system is both her helper and a dangerous element.

How could anyone unconditionally believe in something that parasitizes the mind?

She wasn't the type to passively endure things. Since unknown secrets posed a danger, she was determined to explore and master them.

She pondered many things: the system, the missions, the secrets, what the plot was, and what would happen if the deviation value went too high...

There are so many things worth thinking about, but her thoughts easily drift to another person.

...Claire.

"...Claire."

Willotte's voice was very low, almost inaudible.

I initially accepted this person to resist the threat of death, and now that my mission is complete, why am I still thinking about her at a time like this...?

That black-haired, always smiling, gentle girl.

Where is she now...? Did she go to Hagrid's cabin? Or to the greenhouse?

Willotte remembered that a few days earlier Claire had told her that Professor Sprout had agreed to let her go to the greenhouse to care for the herbs.

With simple joy and anticipation.

Willotte knew.

Claire loves dragons, magical creatures, herbs, delicious food, warm sunshine, nature, and flowers.

She was friendly, diligent, cautious, and wise, harboring unknown secrets. Her gaze was calm, and sometimes even Willotte could not discern her thoughts.

...He's practically a Hufflepuff raised according to stereotypes.

"Velocity," Claire always called out, with her usual gentle smile.

"I really like Willotte."

"Nothing more needs to be done; Willotte is good enough on her own."

They easily lowered others' guard and gave each other a simple hug, as if they were truly inseparable.

With so many tasks issued by the system, why is Claire the only one that is unique?

Author's note: A brief supplement from Willotte's perspective.

At first, Willotte's attitude towards others was: those required by the system, those who are useful, and those she wanted to befriend.

Later, Willotte told others: Good relationships are also a resource.

At first, Willotte told Claire: "It's a system requirement, and the consequences are quite serious. Let's test the waters."

Later, Willotte said to Claire: ...Strangely cute, wait, it seems like there's a secret...still strangely cute.
