Iya Continent: Card God

Chapter 83 The Knight of Siz

Outside Sandel, the sky was a hazy gray, visibility was poor, and the air was filled with the scent of mist, dew, and grass.

Today is the day the Vázquez family sets off to fight bandits.

After receiving Ted Vasquez's approval from Crescent Moon Pavilion, Linta arrived on the appointed day.

"That guy is the commander..."

Linta felt a little guilty as he walked along the road, because he had learned that the commander of this bandit suppression operation was the Flame Fox Knight, Mok Besson. Putting aside any connection between that guy and Gary the Elephant of the underground casino, the important thing was that Linta had fought him before.

To be precise, his own shadow had fought him. This meant he needed to be careful. If he used his shadow's abilities, the other party would know that he was the one who attacked him that night. A conflict would definitely ensue.

Linta roused himself, stopped thinking about the matter, and focused his attention on the front.

At the entrance marked by the Vázquez family flag, a number of soldiers in armor and carrying weapons were already waiting.

The leader, the Flame Fox Knight Moke, was particularly eye-catching.

Linta's heart skipped a beat, and she stepped forward with a guilty conscience.

Mok had noticed Linta's appearance long ago, and his sharp eyes had scrutinized her closely.

He had received Lord Ted's expedition list yesterday, and was somewhat surprised to see the name "Linta" on it. This was a very unusual name; in the Kingdom of Mordley, he had never heard of anyone else named Linta. He immediately thought of Linta, the goblin stone's friend, from the incident with the magic item shop owner, Reno.

As Yanhu Moke looked at Linta approaching, he said directly, "I didn't expect that you are now also a Silver-level."

Linta chuckled dryly, "Just lucky, just lucky."

Luck? No, Flame Fox Moke didn't think so. The person before him exuded an aura completely different from that of a few months ago. His physique and bearing seemed to have been reborn.

That's terrifying! In just a few months, he's improved to this extent?!

What he didn't know was that Linta's cultivation was different from theirs; he didn't need to painstakingly absorb the magical power of heaven and earth. He only needed to strengthen his mental power, and the stronger his mental power, the stronger the magical power he could absorb.

"What bandits or thieves are we trying to wipe out?" Linta changed the subject and asked about the important matter.

Mo Keyan: "You don't need to worry about this for now. Let's wait until everyone is here before we talk about it."

"Oh." Linta didn't ask any more questions and sat down to eat her breakfast bread.

Not long after, two other factions connected to the Vasquez family also dispatched their own Silver-ranked members to participate in the bandit suppression. They all recognized the Flame Fox Knight, Moke, and immediately began exchanging pleasantries.

After exchanging pleasantries, he inquired, "May we depart now, Knight Mok?"

Flame Fox Moke revealed a bitter expression, "Sorry, we're still missing one person on our side."

When he spoke of that guy, Flame Fox Mok revealed obvious disgust. Linta noticed his expression. Somewhat surprised, they were short one person? Who was it? Wasn't he the commander? His subordinate dared to be late in front of him.

Moke said resentfully, "If he doesn't come in another 15 minutes, we'll set off!"

No sooner had the words been spoken than the sound of running footsteps, accompanied by the clatter of armor, came from nearby.

"Me! I'm here!"

Linta's eyes moved, looking at the guy running from the direction of the city.

A knight wearing silver armor, with a sword at his waist, short blond hair, and a smiling face.

This is someone whose true nature is immediately apparent. He's the complete opposite of the serious and focused Flame Fox Moke. This knight is simply the kind of unreliable guy.

Silver-ranked low-level knight, Siz.

"Siz! How dare you be late!" Flame Fox Moke roared.

Knight Siz chuckled, "Hey, I'm not late at all, we haven't even set off yet!" He then immediately greeted the others, "Hello everyone, hello everyone!"

The Vasquez family soldiers looked indifferent, seemingly disliking the knight. The two Silver-ranking soldiers from other families, hired by them, simply responded with a perfunctory greeting.

"Let's go!" Flame Fox Moke was too lazy to say anything more to this guy and gave the order to set off.

The Vázquez family's bandit-slaying knights set out on their expedition.

"Hey, I've never seen you before. Who are you? I'm Xiz." Xiz leaned closer to Linta and said with a grin.

“Linta,” Linta replied.

Siz nodded. "Linta, you're Tim's friend, right?"

Linta was somewhat surprised. Had that boy talked about him with someone else?

"That's it."

“What do you mean by ‘I guess’? It means exactly,” Xiz said with a smile.

Linta asked curiously, "What did Tim say about me?"

Surprisingly, that young master mentioned me to someone else. My relationship with him wasn't actually that close.

Siz said, "What did he say? Young Master Tim said you're a despicable fellow. One day, he'll beat you to a pulp! Hahaha..."

"Huh? Ah?" Lin Ta's face darkened, somewhat bewildered.

What the heck? What are you saying?

Linta said, slightly embarrassed, "Is this what friends are? Isn't this what enemies are supposed to be?"

Siz chuckled and said, "Hey! The more Master Tim says that, the more he considers you a friend. The holidays are coming soon, and Master Tim will be back from the Prussian Academy. You two will be able to see each other soon."

Linta's face darkened. In his opinion, when that guy came back to see him, it wasn't out of joy at not seeing him for so long. Instead, he was eager to beat him up and prove his strength.

Lin Ta changed the subject and asked, "What forces were targeted in this bandit suppression campaign?"

Siz said, "What? Didn't Mok, that fire fox, tell you?"

Linta shook his head.

Siz clicked his tongue. "Hey, that guy, that's just how he is. He keeps all that little stuff to himself."

"It's nothing, just a bandit gang called the Iron Teeth Gang. Their leader is called 'Iron Teeth' Fiss, and he's a ruthless character. We've heard that this gang is hiding in the Misty Swamp Mountains."

Siz didn't care to tell Linta the information.

Flame Fox Moke naturally heard what Xiz said, and his already displeased face turned even more ashen.

You've said too much!

Siz retorted, "What's wrong? We're all here to kill bandits."

Mok glared at him but didn't argue.

Linta could guess what Yanhu Moke meant. The reason he hadn't informed them beforehand was probably because he was worried that there might be accomplices of the bandits among them. If they knew the information in advance and leaked it, it would greatly affect the expedition.

Of course, the likelihood of this happening is low.

Linta could understand why the Flame Fox Mok looked down on Knight Siz. All his caution and meticulousness had been rendered meaningless by this guy's presence.

However, Linta really liked this Knight Siz. He was one of the few kind and optimistic people she had encountered since she crossed over to the continent of Iya.
