Iya Continent: Card God

Chapter 33 Danny Reynolds

There are other shops selling magical artifacts in Sandel City besides Luc Reno's. But Reno's shop is definitely the most popular. Not only because the magical artifacts he sells are cheap and affordable, but also because it's located on Cone Street.

The Cone Street is a place that welcomes all visitors, regardless of their background. Whether you're a thief or a bandit, you can feel safe shopping for whatever you want on the Cone Street. This is something the most upscale and bustling Street in Bath cannot offer.

Linta, Jingon, Shia, and the thief Maren arrived at Luc Reno's magical artifact shop.

The shop door is open now.

The four entered, and at a glance, the pool of blood and corpse that should have been on the ground were gone, and the bloodstains had been wiped clean. A man who looked to be about twenty years old, with brown eyes, was examining the magical artifacts on the shelf.

Upon seeing the four enter, the man bluntly stated, "We're not doing business today."

"Who are you?" Jin Gong asked gruffly.

“I’m the new owner here, Danny Reynolds,” the man replied.

“Oh, Luke’s son, I’ve heard of him.” Jingon said suddenly, seeing the young man for the first time.

Linta stared intently, surveying the scene at the magic weapon shop.

At this point, no trace of the murder scene could be seen.

"Are you here to buy something?" Danny Reynolds questioned.

These people in front of me look rather strange, so I can't help but be on guard.

Before Gingon could speak, Linta stepped forward to strike up a conversation. Linta was worried that if Gingon directly said he was a friend of the goblin Bruce Stone, it would provoke Bruce Stone's anger and hatred. After all, the evidence now showed that it was Bruce Stone who killed Luc Reno.

“We ordered some magical artifacts from Boss Luke before, and we’re here to pick them up,” Linta said with a smile.

Danny wasn't present when the Flame Fox Knight, Mok, captured people. Therefore, he hadn't seen Linta and the others, including Maren. Linta used this information to fabricate a story.

Danny Reynolds glanced briefly at Linta and then said, "My father is dead, so you probably won't be able to get the goods you ordered."

"Ah! What? Boss Luke is dead? How could that be?" Linta said, feigning surprise.

“Would I lie to you? The whole city knows about it,” Danny replied.

Linta said, "We came from another town and haven't been here long. We don't know anything about this." Then, his tone changed, and he asked, "How did Boss Luke die? He was such a good man, who would kill him?"

Danny said, "A goblin who also deals in magical artifacts, I heard, killed my father over a minor business dispute. That goblin was also arrested. Anyway, that's how it is."

There was some impatience in his words.

"Oh." Linta nodded slightly, looking at the ground. "There seem to be signs of cleaning on this ground. Was the person killed here? How did they die? What did they look like when they died?"

Danny Reynolds' brows furrowed, and he said angrily, "Why ask so many questions!"

"Get out, all of you! We're not doing business with you!"

Enraged by the second-generation Renault owner, everyone was kicked out.

The thief, Maren, was speechless. This guy was too direct. The other person's father had just died, and he was rudely forcing him to recall the scene of his father's death. What an inhuman fellow.

Jingong also said in surprise, "I thought I was the only one who would do this. I didn't expect this, Brother Linta!"

Linta's expression was solemn, his thoughts racing, and he did not respond to their words.

Shia then said, "Next, it's my turn."

Linta snapped out of her reverie and looked at Shia. As previously agreed, if there were no direct clues or evidence here, Shia would have to go to the dungeon prison and ask the goblin stone for information.

"Hey, be careful."

Shia's figure flashed and disappeared into the darkness of the street building, vanishing without a trace.

Maren swallowed hard, still finding it hard to believe, and said, "She's really going to... break into the dungeon?"

Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.

The prison in Sandel was forbidden from being openly built above ground, due to the demands of Duke Brandon Vázquez. He believed prisons were filthy and should not be in plain sight. Therefore, all the prisons in the city were dungeons.

The largest dungeon was built in a remote part of the west of the city, specifically for imprisoning criminals and captured bandits. As for those powerful magic users, they were imprisoned in separate smaller dungeons.

Bruce Stone, a goblin of low bronze rank, could wield some magic, but was essentially no different from a commoner. "Murderers" like him were kept in the largest dungeon.

The dungeon guards...were not very strict. In fact, some were rather lax.

Hidden in the shadows, Shia immediately saw through the patrolling situation outside the dungeon.

Infiltrating inside doesn't seem difficult. In fact, I could do it myself during the day.

However, it's still best to be cautious.

Shia waited until nightfall, until the patrolling soldiers handed over their duties. This was the perfect opportunity. As dark clouds obscured the crescent moon, her graceful figure moved swiftly into the dungeon entrance.

The elf seemed strangely at home in the darkness, as if it were born to be with it. Its figure disappeared silently into the ceiling. The jailer, who was guarding it, was completely unaware.

Next, we need to find where the goblins are.

"where?"

Shia's only question.

How do you find your target in a massive, seven-story dungeon?

"no way……"

Shia moved around, searching one by one! She would eventually find them! However, this method was too easy to expose.

If it were a prison break, I would simply assassinate the jailers who were in my way and go find what I was looking for. But this is not a prison break.

After inspecting each cell, they finally found the goblin Stone, sitting forlornly on the ground in a small cell on a certain floor.

Shia then took out a note that she had prepared beforehand and flicked it at the goblin stone.

"Hey!" The goblin felt like he'd been hit on the head, and looked around angrily.

Suddenly, in the dim light of the oil lamp against the prison wall, a small note appeared before him. Curious, he picked it up and opened it. It was written in Jingon's handwriting, saying he would try to find the truth and save him. "When you see this letter, the fairy Shia will be nearby. Please trust her!"

The goblin Stone was greatly surprised, never expecting that Jingon would go to the dungeon to save him.

“Bruce Stone, please come closer to the stone wall and speak softly to it.”

At that moment, whispers rang in the goblin stone's ears.

The whispers were peculiar to the elves, barely perceptible to ordinary people. Especially in this dimly lit cell, where a group of criminals slept soundly. And their cell was different from the smaller prisons specifically for goblins, dwarves, and halflings.

“I’m here, ask away,” the goblin said softly, getting as close as possible to the fence wall.

Shia, with her long ears pressed against the wall, clearly heard the goblin's words.

……

Not far from the dungeon, in a dark place where the view is visible.

Linta, Jingon, and Malen are waiting for Shia's return. They'll be there to help if anything happens.

Jin Gong smiled and said, "That guy is very capable, he'll be fine."

Linta nodded slightly.

Shia's abilities are probably still not fully known to everyone.

Maren looked on incredulously, unable to comprehend how powerful an elf, who was also forbidden from using magic, could be.

I just feel that every single one of these guys is a weirdo!

"What's that guy doing here?!"

Suddenly, Linta exclaimed in surprise, her eyes widening.

Under the cover of night, the ponytail-haired knight, "Flame Fox" Moke Besson, was walking towards the dungeon.
