Iya Continent: Card God

Chapter 3 Swift Wind

“Bronze?” Linta repeated the word in confusion.

"Where the hell are you from? How come you don't know anything?" the bearded dwarf said disdainfully.

On the continent of Iya, even ordinary people who don't understand the use of magic know about the ranks of the strong.

Bronze, silver, gold, diamond, and king. Above the king level are the "gods" worshipped by the people of the continent of Iya.

From low to high, each grade is divided into low-level, mid-level, and high-level.

"That Iron Bucket Knight? I don't even consider him a threat," the bearded dwarf said dismissively.

Linta pondered, "So, dwarf brother, you're a silver-level expert?"

The bearded dwarf glanced nervously at himself, "Uh..."

The elven girl sneered, "If he were a silver-level cultivator, this bronze-level magic-suppressing ring would have been broken."

The bearded dwarf, trying to save face, said, "Becoming a Silver Saint is only a matter of time. Unlock my magic-suppressing ring, and I'll take down that knight in no time."

Linta gleaned information from their conversation.

The dwarf should be a high-ranking Bronze-level being. This magic-suppressing ring also has grades; different grades can only seal magic users of a corresponding strength or lower. Of course, the prerequisite is that the other party possesses magic power.

As for myself, I am someone who has absolutely no magic.

"Buzz!" "Whoosh!"

The sky was filled with dark clouds, the clouds gradually thickening, and flashes of lightning could be felt without looking up. The wind on the mountain path howled more and more, causing the pine trees to sway from side to side and rustle.

"My Latin, it's really going to rain heavily..." the bearded dwarf said with great disgust.

The dwarves worship "Latin," the god of fire and iron, and live in sunless mountain fortresses or underground. They have always disliked rainy or snowy days. After all, their messy hair and beards become much heavier when wet, making their already short stature even less agile.

Lin Ta's eyes were deep and serious, as if a thunderbolt flashed in them.

The celestial phenomena at this moment further solidified my choice.

"Let's run away," Linta whispered.

The blue-skinned fish-man cackled excitedly, "Goralalala!"

The composed middle-aged man kept his eyes closed and remained silent.

The elven girl had a cold expression and gave a soft snort, seemingly as if she found it laughable.

Pinecone, the bear-man, said gently, "Okay."

The bearded dwarf continued to laugh, "Ha ha..."

Linta said, "I know everyone finds this laughable. Without magic, how can you escape?"

"I'm saying that I can use skills without magic. Do you all believe me?"

These words caused a stir among them.

The composed man opened his eyes and looked at Lin Ta with a deep gaze.

The elven girl's eyes sharpened, and she coldly asked, "What did you say?"

The bearded dwarf said with disbelief, "Brother Linta, is what you're saying true? You can cast spells without magic?"

Skills, of course, are not ordinary moves like punches and kicks. Skills in the continent of Iya refer to various magical techniques that are powered by magic.

Linta nodded. "Yes, I'm telling the truth."

The elven girl sneered, "Hmph, laughable. You're under a spell ban, how can you cast a spell? Are you not Bronze level, but Silver level?"

Linta bit her lip slightly.

“I may not even be bronze level, but I can definitely do it.”

As he spoke, his unbound legs swung rapidly back and forth, leaving a fleeting, lingering shadow.

This is something no ordinary person could do; it's so fast it's almost dizzying, like a divine skill.

The prisoners' skillful maneuvering, aided by their concealment, went unnoticed by the soldiers escorting them. With a heavy rain approaching, the soldiers, impatient at not having reached the post station, paid no attention to the prisoners.

Being encased in a magic-suppressing ring and bound by bronze-level ropes, escape was naturally out of the question.

"How could this be?!" the elven girl exclaimed in surprise.

The bearded dwarf's eyes lit up. "You... how did you do that? Brother Linta, teach me!"

Lin Ta smiled faintly, "I can't teach you."

The ability to use this skill is naturally not magic, and has nothing to do with magic.

It comes from the card "Seven of Hearts," a gift from the witch Lilith. The Seven of Hearts' ability is called "Swift Wind." Its movements are like the wind, swift as a shadow.

The reason I lent him this card was so that I could avoid traps and dangers while exploring the tomb.

Linta suddenly realized that the magic-suppressing ring had absolutely no effect on his ability to unleash this power.

He vaguely recalled what the witch Lilith had said.

"The power of cards has nothing to do with magic."

"What are your plans?" the composed middle-aged man asked.

Linta met his gaze and said in a low voice, "I've examined this cage carefully. It should be made of ordinary wood, not a high-grade treasure, right?"

The bearded dwarf said, "Of course. We're all encased in magic-suppressing rings; a mere wooden cage is enough to confine us."

Linta said, “My legs aren’t tied up, so I can kick open the cage, but I can only kick open one piece of wood. After that, we have to use the space created by kicking to jump out.”

The bearded dwarf said, "What kind of escape method is this? We can't escape even if we jump out. Those soldiers will rush up immediately."

“I know,” Linta replied.

The composed man met Linta's confident gaze and said in a deep voice, "You mean, we should wait until we're in a suitable position before jumping out?"

Linta nodded. "Yes, that's what I mean."

The elven girl added, "This rainy weather will also provide cover for us, making it extremely difficult for them to catch us."

“That’s right,” Linta replied.

"Huh? What?" The bearded dwarf was confused. "I don't understand what you're saying."

Looking at the bear-man, he said, "Pinecone Bear, did you understand?"

Pinecone, the bear-man, smiled gently and said, "I don't understand, but I'll just follow along."

"Gurgle la la la..."

Pinecone chuckled and said, "Guagua, I understand."

"Huh? You stinky fish understood? Really?" The bearded dwarf looked at the little fishman with suspicion and quacked.

"Boom!"

With a clap of thunder, a torrential downpour began, the sound of rain echoing throughout the land. The rain soaked the trees and the ground, inevitably leaving the prisoners and the escorting soldiers drenched. Rainwater trickled down their foreheads, chins, and clothes, dripping down their waists.

The escorting soldiers, unable to bear it any longer, said, "Sir Bruno, let's find a place to take shelter from the rain!"

The "Iron Bucket" Knight Bruno sat on his horse, his stern eyes sweeping over the rider. "Do you want me to be 'bitten' by the Silver Hound?"

The slightly angry look in his eyes immediately frightened the soldier, who lowered his head and dared not meet his gaze.

The "silver dog" mentioned is not a real dog, but a knight nicknamed "Silver Dog" who will receive these prisoners at the next post station.

He was a silver-rank knight, vicious and terrifying.

Therefore, even though it's raining heavily now, we can't stop traveling for a moment.

Linta saw through all of this.

"As expected, it won't stop..."

Linta whispered.

The bearded dwarf asked, puzzled, "How do you know it won't stop?"

Lin Tayan said, "The signs of an impending downpour were very obvious along the way. There were several places along the road where we could stop and take shelter from the rain, but they didn't stop. I was sure they were in a hurry to get us there, so they wouldn't stop even when it was windy and rainy."

The bearded dwarf exhaled and said, "So what? You say a suitable place, where is it?"

Linta did not answer.

I naturally didn't know anything about the geography here; I was just gambling, gambling that such a place existed!
