Rebirth: Supreme Soul Master

Chapter 68 One Thing They Missed

For example, who they will bring along to provide extra protection in this competition. They have a long list of powerful Soul Masters recruited from the academy and other families.

They also discussed informing others in their allied tribes of this danger. But they concluded that this should not be done.

The main reason for this was that they wanted to closely monitor any traitors within the academy. If this information were to leak out, it would eventually alert them and might even cause the Dark Soul Master to change their entire plan.

At least they had received information about what was about to happen. The two agreed that at some point they would try to get more information from Lina.

William didn't pay much attention to the map she saw, but the two of them did. Fortunately, there were still several months before the competition began.

"Should we send him?" the principal suddenly asked after a long and heated discussion, referring to William.

"Why not?" Kong seemed to agree with the principal's idea. "He has improved a lot. It would be a great pity if we didn't let him participate in that competition."

“Alright.” The principal stared at his friend for a long time, trying to read his mind, but without success.

“But we first need to clear his name,” Kong added. “I would feel unsafe having someone I don’t fully trust bring our children.”

"After what he has said and done so far?" The principal had dispelled any doubts he had previously had about William.

He heard William talk about the Dark Soul Masters and understood William's attitude towards them. If William was one of them, then he would ultimately try to kill Lina to shut her up.

But Kong did not think like his friend. He remained skeptical because of his concern for his beloved granddaughter.

“We need to wait for the investigation report to arrive before making a decision.” Kong turned to William and added, “I will also wait until I meet with him face to face before making a final decision.”

William remained in his room. He first considered checking his ring, but abandoned the idea after finding no clues.

So he stopped wasting his time and energy on such things and started thinking about how to use his new technology to solve the current problems.

He completed the first and third parts of the technique. Moreover, based on what he knew, if this technique were successfully executed, the consequences would be quite terrifying.

His actual abilities were on a completely different level from what he had previously imagined. However, the same question continued to plague him.

"The spiritual energy consumption is still too high; I can't stand it," he muttered to himself. He found the whole situation rather ironic.

He began trying to solve the problem using his skills. But he eventually encountered the same issue again.

Moreover, he didn't even fully execute his third move. He simply threw away the sword, and the technique was complete, without consuming much of his soul power.

But judging from his grand plans for the technology, he didn't want to do that. "I'll try the second approach first, and then see if I can come up with any other way to solve this problem..."

The outside world was already getting dark. Whether it was a coincidence or not, he decided to test his skills again in the middle of the night.

"At least this will help me execute the second move better..." he thought as he returned to the devastated garden.

Just like last night, he first dug a hole in the ground and put the materials there.

"That kid's going to ruin my garden again..." The principal said with a wry smile, far away from where he was.

“Your garden is gone, just bear with it,” Kong said with a smile. He knew his friend cherished his garden very much, even treating it like his own child.

This was thanks to the headmaster's passion for alchemy. And Sora knew the specific reasons behind this strange feeling, even though the headmaster himself was a mediocre alchemist.

Kong ignored his friend's angry glare and focused his attention back on the formation William was setting up. "That kid... how did he miss this little one?!"

"What are you talking about?" The principal returned to monitor William, but did not notice what his friend had done.

“Last night we set up the formation according to his method,” Kong said slowly while carefully observing something, “but we skipped over something that we hadn’t noticed before.”

"Which one is it?" Kong said a lot, but did not give any answer to the principal's question.

"He didn't use all the materials he got from you yesterday," Kong said confidently, adding, "He only used ten percent of all the materials!"

"Only ten percent?! How could that be?!" The principal finally understood what Kong meant.

The two carefully observed William's every move, but overlooked trivial details such as the amount of materials he used.

They assumed he deposited all the money he received without paying attention to how much he spent. In return, they only focused on the steps William took to create that array.

“If he only used 10% of the materials… then… then…” The principal’s eyes lit up, and he imagined what it would be like if only a small portion of the materials were used.

"Breaking this formation is possible!" A determined light shone in King Kong's eyes. They had been giving it their all, trying to take down this formation, which was ten times stronger than William's.

Realizing this, they knew that breaking the formation would be an easy task for them.
