Rebirth: Supreme Soul Master

Chapter 51 The Strange Meeting

From the principal's words, William was certain that his grandson had indeed been poisoned, just as the principal himself had suspected and speculated.

This solved a major mystery for William, who knew a great deal about the poison. He was puzzled that such a poison had come from outside and had been delivered to a traitor within the academy in such a short time, intended to harm his two daughters.

The poison was present from the beginning, which explains everything.

As for dealing with the toxin in his grandson's body, William knew how challenging it would be. Eliminating this vicious poison was something William simply couldn't accomplish with his limited soul power. Not only would it require a large amount of materials, but there were practically no materials available in the world.

He would need to be at least a Gold-level Soul Master to do this. But he couldn't refuse such a sincere request, especially from the old man who had supported him just minutes before.

Even if William cannot cure him, he can at least stop the toxin from progressing and spreading in his grandson's body.

"Principal, did you send someone to find me?"

William and the two girls sat there for a few more minutes when a tall, young Soul Master walked in. At first glance, William could see that he and the principal had many similarities.

But that wasn't why William looked surprised when he saw the guy. He remembered him, remembered his face from before.

'How could this be...?!' William was shocked when he saw the man. In his previous life, William had no status in the academy, let alone being able to personally meet such a high-ranking person or even serve him. But he had seen that face before.

When disaster struck the world, he was leading a group of cloaked dark soul masters in a hunt for the academy's survivors. William would never forget his face, especially when he was nearly killed, had it not been for luck's timely intervention and the intervention of a group of powerful soul masters from the academy.

Indeed, destined enemies will meet in every corner! William controlled his emotions, turned to look at the principal, and sighed inwardly.

'What happened here?' William knew the headmaster had sent him to check on his grandson. But if his grandson had already sided with the Dark Soul Master, how could he have been poisoned?

Something felt off. But regardless, even if he had the ability, William decided not to treat him!

“Come here, my son, put aside this attitude. They are friends.”

"Friends? A porter and a traitor working for the dark forces? And two spies from Golden Heaven Academy? Humph! Grandpa, you have so many friends here!" But when he was only twenty meters away from the principal, the grandson stopped, his tone so rude and arrogant.

Judging from his expression, William did not give a friendly impression at all. This also confirmed his previous suspicion about the source of his loyalty to this young Soul Master.

“Don’t say that! These are all false accusations!” The principal seemed very angry when his grandson repeated the same nonsense that other elders had said and was proven wrong.

"Only time will tell whether it's true or false," the young Soul Master scoffed. "This time, they haven't been proven wrong. But I swear, I won't rest until I've exposed their true colors to you and everyone else."

"You...you stop right there!" The rude grandson had barely finished speaking when he pointed at William and the two girls before turning to leave. Even with the principal's domineering shouts trying to stop him, he didn't falter.

"That damned filial son! I don't know what's wrong with him that made him like this!" Just as the young man came and went quickly, the principal slumped weakly onto his throne-like seat, his face showing signs of exhaustion that made him look even older.

This time, the aged expression lasted for more than a minute.

Hearing the old headmaster's words, William realized that this attitude was not an exception. That young man had gone too far several times before. This left him with the mark of a spoiled child, someone who had wanted to destroy his privileged upbringing since childhood.

William didn't know what he should do or say there. In a way, the headmaster was like a loving grandfather concerned about the health of his only grandson.

On the other hand, this grandson was a traitor! Moreover, he openly declared his animosity towards William in front of the headmaster. How could William possibly sympathize with such a mortal enemy?

"It seems that losing his father had a great negative impact on him," but William was unable to openly criticize the traitor and kept it all to himself.

“This…is indeed…” The principal sighed, taking William’s words as the only excuse for his grandson’s rude and strange behavior.

The weariness on his face disappeared, replaced by a concerned expression. "Don't mind what he just said. In the academy, there are more people who support you than rain falls from the sky."

"Thank you for your concern, Principal." William knew the old man favored him. But that didn't mean he would let that wicked grandson go for his own sake.

Even though William didn't truly understand what the principal meant by gaining support, he didn't ask. Realizing William hadn't grasped his meaning, the principal added:

"Do you know how much trouble you've caused these past few days?" The matter of treating his grandson ended just like that.
