“Mine too,” William showed no sign of weakness in the face of such a traitor and enemy. Instead of silencing Guo as he had hoped, William pushed him to the brink of collapse, and he said:

"Your accusations have no basis whatsoever except your own words. So you either consider those who lied traitors and punish them according to the academy's laws, or you take responsibility for your words and accept the punishment."

"I will kill you!" Guo couldn't believe that a mere eight-year-old child would talk back to him directly and even threaten him in such a rude way.

William wouldn't make a mess of things, nor would he act impulsively. Once he found a way out of this deadly plan, he knew his other supporters would intervene.

William's wording might have been somewhat conservative had it not been for the support of the elders who were involved in or pre-betting the stakes.

“You dare lay a finger on him with me?” Just then, the old elder who had previously supported William stood up again. And this time, just as William had expected, he was not alone.

Many elders on both sides also stood up.

"If you want to break my academy rules, go outside and get out of my sight." As soon as the principal finished speaking, everyone stopped in alarm.

"He should hand over the ring to us, and we will handle it in the way we deem appropriate."

“That ring has a traceable connection to the Lokos family, and we all know how large families usually operate,” another elder said. “They hold grudges deeply and won’t let this go easily.” The leader of Scout Sam’s department also joined in, speaking alongside Guo.

William's words and actions made him feel terrible. And now, he had found a way to vent his anger: to snatch the ring from William's hand.

William sensed that the elder's dying words had resonated deeply within the souls of many of the elders present. Therefore, he had to retaliate.

“This ring does indeed have that connection,” William raised his hand, then lowered all but his middle finger. “But see? I’ve removed what you’re worried about. So, the ring is now safe and pure. It’s mineral!”

“You…” Guo and the other elders stood up. William raised only one finger, the middle finger, in front of them. Regardless of what others thought, William simply gave them the middle finger.

“As I said, this matter is currently being discussed behind closed doors,” the headmaster had to intervene again to stop the farce. “William, go back and wait for the results. A group of servants will bring some food and drinks for you and the two girls.”

"Thank you, Principal." William cupped his hands in thanks again, looking at Guo and the others with a defiant gaze, then patted his ring as if it were the most precious thing in the world to him.

He knew their purpose from this pathetic performance. William didn't intend to provoke trouble. But he knew that any traitor who encountered him, whenever and wherever, would be seen as confronting him and becoming his enemy.
