Rebirth: Supreme Soul Master

Chapter 34 The True Value of Combat Experience

The two men were in the same position, gripping their sword hilts with both hands, and both wore mocking smiles.

They underestimated him so much that no one considered using their souls in the fight against him.

William had heard of this clan's type of spirit, all of which was related to fire lizards. He also recognized the fighting style the two were using from the swordplay.

That was a technique that the red salamander used when it descended from the sky.

"Stop slack off! Kill him now!" the leader shouted impatiently before they even got close.

He seemed displeased with their casual attitude towards William. After the leader's angry outburst, the two boys could no longer contain themselves and their spirits lifted.

Their bodies turned a faint reddish hue and then became somewhat swollen. Only their upper bodies underwent this change, while their arms swelled up the most.

"Watch out! One is a fire slash, and the other is a wind slash!" Just before the attack began, the masked girl seemed to pity William and shouted a warning.

"A fire lizard? What a strange spirit." William sneered, drawing his gold-grade sword from its sheath. "Let's see how you deal with me."

"Even if you die, you'll still be an ignorant porter, hmph." One of the two snorted, not expecting what William would do next.

Just as the masked girl said, one of them drew his sword first, and the other followed closely behind. The power of the barrier gathered in their upper bodies was released through the sword, forming two identical arc-shaped slashes, one of fire and one of wind.

Since their martial souls merged, they have gained the elemental bonus supported by their martial souls. One child possesses the typical fire spirit of their race, while the other child is not fire-type, but a wind-type mutation.

The wind-slashing attack accelerated, merging with the fire attack, increasing the speed of both individuals and intensifying the flames. The wind not only sped up the fire but also amplified it.

However, just as the two were imagining William being engulfed by their powerful combined attack, William vanished from the spot.

“Fine,” William jumped aside with a wicked grin, “You two are out…you’re next!”

Without pausing, William began running towards the nearest member of the crowd surrounding the two girls. William simply activated the protective barrier within his body, and a layer of white appeared on his skin.

"Damn! He's not a porter, he's a Soul Master!" the leader exclaimed in surprise. "Watch out for John, he's after you."

"understood!"

John was quick as well, instantly raising his sword high and gripping it with both hands. His body also underwent the same transformation as the other two.

The next moment, another fiery slash appeared, hurtling towards William at lightning speed.

“I’ll help you, buddy.” Another child joined in, unleashing another Flame Slash at William.

But as before, William simply leaped repeatedly, easily dodging both attacks. "Four are out." His wicked smile didn't fade for a moment as he turned and ran in another direction.

"Kill him!" At this moment, the squad leader realized that William was not as he appeared, merely jumping around like a monkey, dodging the attacks coming at him.

A sense of unknown danger suddenly descended, and the leader cried out in anguish, "Cover up all the places he can jump to, don't let him escape!"

“Hmph,” William felt absolutely no pressure. The shout alone made him want to burst out laughing. The panicked leader seemed to have missed William’s true objective here.

The other four launched a simultaneous attack on William. One bullet hit where William was, two came from the sides, and one was aimed at his rear.

“Come dance.” But instead of backing down, William unexpectedly stepped forward to meet the impending attack. It looked crazy, as he was now facing all the incoming curved swords head-on.

But as he said, he danced. His legs began to alternate, leaping to the right one moment and to the left the next. With this uncanny movement, William easily dodged all the attacks.

Even the final attack, aimed at him with a dazzling arc, was easily dodged by William with a single move. He bent his knees and crouched on the ground. As he spoke, he lay prone on the ground, allowing the sword to pass over his head without touching a single hair.

This seemed like it would take a long time, but it all happened in a matter of seconds. In less than ten seconds, William forced the group to launch their strongest attack, activating their martial spirits to make them all dodge.

“Eight are worthless now,” William stood up angrily. “You shouldn’t have used your strongest attack from the start, you idiot! Combat experience is more important than anything else!”

By this time, William had already envisioned their deaths. In fact, when he faced the first two, he was testing them.

It's clear that these traitors have been hunting the two girls for a week. On the surface, the chase has been intense, with frequent clashes between the two sides.

William suspected they weren't in good shape, but he hadn't expected their soul power to be so low. They'd exhausted their soul power after just one move.

The signs of spiritual energy depletion appeared as the spiritual energy around the body rapidly drained away. When the two children activated their martial spirits and launched their attack, the sword light had not yet merged before the martial spirits began to dissipate.

This was a sign, and the experienced William wouldn't miss it.

“Go kill them, take revenge.” William said to the shocked, veiled girl as he pushed the traitors off the cliff. “They don’t have enough soul power, they can’t even defend themselves.” He entrusted the honor of pushing them off the cliff to the girl.
