Rebirth: Supreme Soul Master

Chapter 280 I Want to Rest

Within the first hour, he had gathered everyone together and killed a large number of monsters that had gathered at the edge of the formation.

"Why did it take you so long?" The last group he encountered was led by Ibrahimovic. He seemed a little annoyed by the sheer number of flies he had killed so far.

Facing a Gold-level Soul Master like him, any Silver or Bronze-level monsters would be nothing. Therefore, the area where this guy is located should be completely free of monsters.

"I thought you had taken a nap or something."

“Don’t treat me like someone your age,” William retorted with a laugh. “It’s you who needs to take a break every now and then.”

"Tch! Tell me you cleared everything out before you came here." Ibra brandished his greatsword a few times in the air, then added, "I killed every monster that dared to come here."

“The edges of the position are clear.” William glanced around and found a large number of silver monsters lying nearby. He didn’t feel any pain at the loss. “Let’s go back and scan to make sure no monsters were lost during our hunt.”

"Oh, right," Ibrahimovic looked around, his gaze shifting between the players who had come with him, "Have all those lovely scouts returned or something?"

“We got here as fast as we could,” Smith said, disliking Ibrahimovic’s tone, and stepped forward to speak for his team. “We did our job, so stop talking about us like that, as if we dragged you back or something.”

“Indeed,” Ibra showed no appreciation for him and the scout team. “Otherwise, we should have activated the formation long before these flies dared to come in.”

“Let’s stop this pointless conversation,” William knew it was pointless to try to explain how important the reconnaissance team was to someone like Ibra. “We have a lot of areas to scan and search, and a lot of monsters to kill.”

"Does this mean we have to stand in front of all the monsters outside?" Lang asked, pointing towards the magic circle, where a large number of monsters began to gather.

“It can remain active for two days straight.” William’s gaze swept over the monsters outside. To his surprise, he also spotted three other terrifying creatures, just like the worms and bugs he had fought and killed before. “Don’t worry, monsters don’t stay in one place for long.”

“I hope they’ll start killing each other then,” Peter said, and everyone else laughed, but William knew it was indeed a viable possibility.

Monsters will prioritize humans on their food menu. But if they can't get their hands on anything, they'll turn their attention to other monsters.

So, that's how it is; a great battle will break out, killing or scaring away most of the monsters here.

Only those terrifying creatures standing outside would patiently and eagerly observe the formation and the humans inside.

William eventually realized that he and the others had to fight those terrifying creatures. It would be ideal to obtain their cores, as they were all gold-grade. But he knew that doing so, if things went wrong, would jeopardize most of the team and himself.

"Then let's begin the purification operation." William decided to put these matters aside for later and worry about them then.

Now, he took the lead and began a large-scale search for the monsters lurking within the array.

They found many, mostly bronze-grade, with very few silver-grade.

This greatly frustrated William. He thought he could get more of these silver cores, but after six hours of fighting and searching, he only managed to obtain twenty-nine!

He could have gotten it to level 83, but Ibra wouldn't listen to him and kept attacking whenever it spotted the silver monster.

“If I were to fight against these bronze and white monsters, I would want to torture them.” He was just giving that excuse, and William knew it was all a lie.

But what could William do in the face of such a shameless fellow? William's soul power was limited; he couldn't keep jumping forward to bypass Ibra and kill all these silver monsters.

But he fought with all his might and managed to snatch several silver monsters from Ibra, driving Ibra mad! This became quite amusing for the other team members, who watched and laughed the whole time.

"Phew! Finally done!" Berry said as the last group of monsters was killed. "For a moment, I felt like all the monsters in the forest had gathered here!"

“They just followed that guy’s leftovers,” William shrugged, adding, “Who said we’re done? We still have to gather their materials, clean the meat and salt it, and get ready for bed and rest…”

“Wait! Don’t tell me I’m going to do all this!” Berry pouted and complained, making not only William but everyone else laugh.

"Well, you're in charge of collecting materials, so..."

“No, I admit the task, but I’ll hand it over to someone else… maybe Sarah,” Berry said, her eyes darting around before finally settling on Sarah.

"Why me? I don't want to do something so troublesome."

"Come on! Please help me!"

"No! I need to rest!"

“Who said you were going to rest too?” William raised an eyebrow, as if he had just heard something funny. “You’re going to lead a patrol, and then…”

"Wait! Who said I was going to do that? I want to rest!" Sarah immediately interrupted him, making everyone try to control their laughter and not make any noise, otherwise they would be chosen by William.
