Rebirth: Supreme Soul Master

Chapter 263 The Monster of Slytherin

These few hundred people may not seem like much, but they have the ability to draw more people from deeper in the forest. Not to mention, if they eventually fight these monkeys, even more terrifying monsters will appear.

“Let’s change course.” William knew how to deal with these monkeys better, but he decided not to fight them.

Many of his team members were exhausted and injured in the battle just now. Even with the use of medicine, most of their wounds were healed, but no soul power was replenished.

No one here was like him. They received basic introductory cultivation techniques to replenish their depleted soul power. But they needed more time than William. Therefore, the latter decided to give them more time to recover to their peak condition before entering another match.

This detour cost the team more time without actually moving forward. William didn't mind, continuing to focus on observing and listening to the world around him.

Even if he dispersed five Soul Masters to scout and scan the forest ahead, he couldn't cover everything. He expected to encounter very few monsters, especially those that worked and acted alone rather than in groups, and those that were adept at hiding and sneaking attacks.

During the march, the team members began to get used to the place. Many of them had never ventured so deep into the forest before, nor had they ever been to such a remote destination.

After walking for another four hours, their tension gradually eased. They began to talk to each other and get to know one another.

Those who come from the same family, such as Lang and Peter's Soul Masters, can talk openly and honestly with their own clansmen.

Gradually, they also began to talk to others, while the big shots initially remained silent, watching the others like William did.

Then they started talking to each other and to other people, becoming friends with many of the team members. Sarah and Berry were talking to each other more often than before. In William's eyes, the two girls were the same, both victims of different misfortunes.

One of them was imprisoned for years due to an incurable disease, while the other lived in the shadow of her family and her mother's experiences.

The two had been quite cold towards each other before, but when they chatted together, the coldness gradually broke down because they both felt they had something in common.

Lang and Peter were already friends. So it was expected that they would chat casually and even crack jokes from time to time.

John found himself growing further apart the more he talked to those important figures.

He remained silent until the men he had brought with him came over and spoke to him. Since these guys weren't as embarrassed as John, and had already become friends with many of the other members, John slowly integrated into the team.

The only person who truly keeps his distance from others and doesn't talk to anyone is Ibrahimovic.

This guy acted coldly. In his eyes, he was only there for William. He only cared about William, not anyone else. The more he thought about the lightning element William had used before, the more eager he became to unravel all the mysteries surrounding William.

Unfortunately for him, William had to tell the truth himself, otherwise he would never know what the little guy had been hiding from everyone until now.

Ibrahimovic found William's actions amusing. He gathered the randomly selected disciples and led them away from the academy.

This was not typical behavior from anyone he had encountered so far, nor was it typical of any special Soul Master who wanted to win over others and become famous in the academy or surrounding families.

Clearly, William harbored some resentment towards those dark soul masters. However, Ibu was unable to fathom the history behind this matter.

"careful!"

Just as the group had been moving forward for nearly half a day, avoiding multiple groups of monsters thanks to timely warnings from the scout squad, William's shout suddenly rang out, startling everyone.

They all stopped, became wary again, and looked at him with suspicion, only to see him slip away without hesitation.

William's sword had just struck a member of the Bronze Saints less than fifty meters away. A cloud of dust appeared, obscuring William and what he had just bumped into.

"Monster attack!" Ibu was the next to speak, and his movements were anything but slow, unlike William's. Throughout their journey, he remained highly alert and vigilant about his surroundings.

He was the most experienced guy here and knew that it was impossible to find all the monsters by relying on the five monsters scattered in front.

The distance between the two sides had now exceeded seven miles. As they ventured deeper into the forest, the area the five men needed to cover also expanded.

Ibrahimovic noticed the monster sneaking up on the team, but he didn't have William's speed and agility.

"What kind of monster is that?"

"Let's kill it first!"

"Don't move, or we'll all die!"

However, just as everyone was excited about the sudden appearance of the monster, William's voice came from the center of the dust cloud, causing everyone to frown and freeze in place.

"This is Slytherin worm territory! Don't move, or we'll all die!" William's next words made many team members' hearts tighten on the spot!

What is that monster?

"I've never heard of anything like this involving Slytherins before!"

None of the white-level members here, and even very few bronze-level members, knew what William was saying. But everyone else did. Soon everyone would realize what they were facing.
