He was almost discovered—just as he was secretly slipping the rune data into the enemy's device, Tian suddenly turned to look at him, his eyes filled with suspicion. Caesar knew Tian wasn't easily fooled, and that moment of tension nearly gave him a cold sweat.

"What are you doing?" Tian's voice echoed in his ears, the cold question leaving him momentarily speechless.

Caesar quickly regained his smile, trying to mask his inner turmoil with a light tone: "Giving these guys a farewell gift."

He feigned an accidental firing, repelling the enemy and thus concealing his actions. But he knew that Tian must have sensed something; although he didn't directly question him, his sharp gaze had already set off alarm bells in Caesar's mind.

"Heaven has begun to doubt me," Caesar muttered to himself, a hint of weariness flashing in his eyes.

He knew that the Camarilla and the Academy's higher-ups were not to be underestimated, and that Tian was the most dangerous one. He was calm, precise, and almost devoid of emotion; once Tian became completely suspicious of him, things would become extremely complicated.

At the same time, pressure from the family is mounting.

Although the mission was temporarily successful, Caesar knew that the Gattuso family's appetite would never be satisfied. The rune data was just the first step; they would demand more—more academy secrets, more intelligence. The family wouldn't stop, and Caesar knew he was destined to be drawn deeper and deeper into their schemes.

The next morning, Caesar had just stepped out of his dormitory when Lu Mingfei stopped him.

“Hey, Caesar, you seemed a bit off last night.” Lu Mingfei’s voice carried a hint of doubt. Although he was usually carefree, he was clearly uneasy about Caesar’s behavior this time.

Caesar chuckled lightly, feigning nonchalance: "You're overthinking it, kid. What could be wrong with me? I'm just a little tired."

Lu Mingfei scratched his head, frowned, and said, "Are you sure? Tian also said last night that you were acting a bit strange."

Caesar's heart raced slightly, but he maintained his impeccable smile: "Heaven is just too vigilant. You all know I'm fine."

He patted Lu Mingfei's shoulder lightly, trying to change the subject, "Don't worry, I'm Caesar of the Gattuso family. When have you ever seen me make a mistake?"

“Okay…” Lu Mingfei seemed to reluctantly accept this explanation, but he was still somewhat hesitant. “Don’t make us worry.”

After saying goodbye to Lu Mingfei, Caesar once again felt his heart waver.

These past few days, he's felt more than just simple pressure; he's felt a growing anxiety. Every mission, every concealment, every double identity has led him toward the abyss. He knows that when this path ends, there will be no turning back.

Caesar entered the main teaching building of the college, still weighing his options.

His family's orders left him no choice but to obey, while the academy's trust prevented him from betraying them. Worse still, Tian was already secretly observing him, and even someone as usually carefree as Lu Mingfei was beginning to sense his unusual behavior. If things continued this way, his identity would be exposed sooner or later.

In the afternoon, Caesar received another summons from Chu Zihang.

"The Secret Service has a new mission. We need to go deep into the Academy and investigate some suspicious activities." Chu Zihang calmly gave the order as always, seemingly unaware of Caesar's unusual behavior, but every word he spoke carried an invisible pressure.

"Another Camarilla mission," Caesar thought to himself. He knew this mission would inevitably involve his family's activities, and he would once again have to choose between the two.

After the operation began, the four-person team ventured deep into the college's research area.

They received intelligence from the Camarilla that their family forces were operating covertly and might be using some of the Academy's secret rune technology for illegal transactions. Tian was in charge of the investigation, Chu Zihang led the team, while Caesar was once again caught in an internal conflict.

"I can't let the family's actions be discovered." Caesar thought to himself. He had to continue to conceal the family's actions during the operation, while also preventing his teammates from becoming suspicious of him.

Just as they entered the research area, Chu Zihang suddenly noticed something amiss.

"The rune fluctuations here are strange; it seems someone is trying to tamper with the academy's rune technology," he said coldly, a sharp glint in his eyes.

Tian immediately took action, a glint of light flashing in his golden eyes: "Someone is tampering with this place."

He began scanning the runic traces, trying to find clues. Caesar's heart pounded again; he knew this time, he might not escape unscathed.

As the investigation deepened, Tian's expression gradually turned cold. "This is a family tactic... Caesar, what do you think?"

He suddenly turned his head, his gaze landing directly on Caesar.

Caesar paused for a moment, but quickly regained his composure, still wearing a relaxed smile. "Perhaps some families are trying to obtain resources from the academy, but we cannot draw conclusions so easily."

Tian remained silent for a moment, his gaze still sharp, but he did not ask any further questions.

Caesar knew that the heavens' suspicions were growing deeper and deeper, and that if he was not careful, his dual identity would be completely exposed.

After the operation ended, Caesar returned to his dormitory alone, his inner struggle growing stronger.

He knew that continuing like this could have devastating consequences. He had to make a choice: fully embrace his family or stand with the academy? Whichever he chose, he would lose something important.

"Family or Academy..." Caesar murmured to himself, a hint of weariness flashing in his eyes. The pressure of his dual identity made it almost impossible for him to breathe, but he knew that, in any case, this game was not over yet.

In this battle between family and the Academy, every step Caesar takes is fraught with danger.

Both sides are trying to pull him to their side, and he can only hover on this dangerous line of balance until the inevitable moment arrives—a moment that will finally reveal his identity, a moment when he must make a final choice.

Caesar returned to his dormitory, his heavy breathing echoing in the empty room. He felt himself being gradually forced into an invisible corner.

As the heir to the Gattuso family, he must acquire more resources for his family; yet, as a member of Kassel College, he cannot betray his teammates. This dual identity makes every step he takes feel like walking on thin ice, where a slight misstep could lead to an irreversible situation.

As dusk fell, the lights of the academy gradually came on. Caesar lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, his thoughts churning.

The orders of his family and the trust of the academy were pulling at him from two completely different directions. He had never imagined that he would find himself in such a complicated situation, and now, every mission and every action only made him sink deeper.

Just as he was lost in thought, his phone screen lit up with another encrypted message from his family.

“Caesar, the family’s plan has moved to its next stage. We need you to obtain core intelligence on the Academy’s secret society, especially the latest research related to runic technology. You must act quickly.”

"Core intelligence?" Caesar's heart tightened. His family's demands were becoming increasingly outrageous, and this time, they wanted more than just rune data; they wanted top-secret information about the Camarilla. If he cooperated with his family on this mission, the Camarilla would undoubtedly consider him their number one traitor, and the Academy would no longer tolerate him.

Caesar took a deep breath, gripped his phone tightly, and felt his inner struggle intensify.

If he continues to cooperate with the family, he will completely lose the academy's trust and may even endanger his life. But if he refuses the family's orders, as the heir, he will face punishment from the family and may even be completely ostracized from the family's power center.

"How much longer can I walk this road..." Caesar murmured to himself, a hint of weariness flashing in his eyes. He knew he was heading down a path of no return, and the final outcome might be utter destruction.

Just as he was hesitating, there was a gentle knock on the dormitory door.

Caesar paused, quickly hiding his phone, his usual confident smile returning to his face. He got up, walked to the door, opened it, and saw Lu Mingfei standing outside, a hint of anxiety in his eyes.

"Caesar, do you have time? I have something I want to ask you." Lu Mingfei's tone was hesitant, clearly he was a little uneasy, but seemed to have made up his mind to come and see Caesar.

“Of course I have time.” Caesar smiled and beckoned Lu Mingfei in, trying to hide his nervousness. “What happened? You look a little troubled.”
