The Path to Another World

Chapter 25 Underground Ancient Tomb

After an unknown amount of time, the two grew weary of the darkness before them. They were puzzled; logically, such a long journey should have taken them to the Earth's core, yet they saw no boiling magma or scorching heat, nor did they experience the suffocating feeling of lack of air. It was as if they were riding an elevator. Finally, amidst their unease, the chest pendants facing them slowed down, bouncing a few times as if they had bumped into something, before hovering motionless, quietly waiting for the two behind them.

Ye Fan and Tian Jun saw the pendant bounce back from afar. Remembering the terrifying corrosiveness of the blue light, they knew it must have struck something indestructible. Terrified, their souls nearly left their bodies. The thought of being reduced to a pulp filled them with dread. They closed their eyes and screamed in terror, "Mom and Dad, I'm sorry! I'll be your son again in the next life!" "I don't want to die! My wish hasn't been fulfilled yet! So many beautiful women are waiting for me to seduce them! God, are you jealous of me? Goodbye Martha! Tina, let's be husband and wife again in the next life! And Cindy... God, save me!"

The wind had stopped, and there were no more violent impacts. "Have I crashed into the ground?" Ye Fan felt something was wrong. "But why don't I feel any pain? Could I really be dead? This is a soul, so I shouldn't feel pain." But Tian Jun's wailing farewell still echoed in his ears, finally pulling him back to reality. He tentatively opened his eyes slightly, and unexpectedly, there was no bloody mess or a puddle of flesh. All he saw was someone still there, flailing their arms and legs, still saying goodbye to some girl, and still full of energy. Ye Fan breathed a long sigh of relief and slumped to the ground. The feeling of being resurrected was wonderful.

Taking a deep breath to calm herself down, she stood beside Tian Jun, amused, watching him perform his own show. The endless stream of names, a mix of Chinese and foreign, that kept coming out of his mouth was quite amusing. She lightly kicked Tian Jun in the backside. "Get up, we're not dead yet."

Tian Jun was still engrossed in his performance, waving his hand without turning his head and saying, "Get out of the way! At that height and speed, how could you not be dead? Do you think you're Iron Man?" Suddenly, he felt something was wrong. Why did that voice sound so familiar? Wasn't it Ye Fan's voice? Instantly, his sorrow turned to joy. He wiped away his tears, opened his eyes, and looked at Ye Fan beside him. He saw Ye Fan standing there, amused, looking at him with a mocking expression, seemingly unable to believe his eyes. This didn't make sense! He said urgently, "Fanzi, are we really not dead? Hurry up, try kicking me again! Hurry, hurry up!"

Looking at Tian Jun, who was practically begging to be kicked, Ye Fan smiled mischievously. Of course, he understood the feeling of escaping death, so he kicked Tian Jun hard in the butt, sending him flying. "Damn it, Fanzi, are you messing with me on purpose? I told you to kick me, why did you kick me so hard?" Tian Jun scrambled to his feet, rubbing the spot where Ye Fan had kicked him, and muttered with a grin, all traces of dissatisfaction gone. "Haha, so I really didn't die! Thank you all, gods! I'll add some more incense oil for you when I get back. A near-death experience is sure to bring good fortune. I knew I was a lucky person! Ladies, wait for me!" As soon as he saw that he was unharmed, he revealed his true colors, standing there with his hands on his hips, laughing heartily, all traces of his previous sorrow gone.

Looking at Tian Jun's smug face, Ye Fan shook his head with amusement and teased, "Who was making such a pitiful sound just now? There was Cindy, Tina... dozens of them, right? I bet if Old Master Tian knew he had so many granddaughters-in-law, he'd be grinning from ear to ear! He's probably already itching to have a great-grandson!"

"Uh!" Tian Jun suddenly stopped laughing wildly, as if someone had grabbed his neck: "Fanzi, aren't we brothers? You can't do this to me. I can't imagine what it will be like after we get married. My motto is not to seek debauchery in the world, but to seek fame and fortune. My happiness for the rest of my life is entirely in your hands. From now on, I will follow your lead. If you tell me to go east, I will never go west."

Seeing Tian Jun's fawning expression, Ye Fan chuckled and kicked him, saying with a laugh, "Stop joking around! Go take a look at what's going on here. First of all, you need to figure out how to get out of here!" Only then did Tian Jun stop his playful expression and look around at everything with Ye Fan. He had been so focused on talking that he hadn't paid any attention to what was going on under his feet.

The two stared in disbelief at their feet. They hadn't fallen directly to the ground; instead, they'd been caught by a light barrier about a meter above it. The multicolored barrier, illuminated by the sapphire, looked exceptionally mysterious. They hadn't expected such a thin energy shield to completely absorb the combined weight of two people, weighing 300 pounds, falling from such a height with such immense force. Even the slightest rebound force would have been enough to kill them, yet they felt no shock whatsoever. This demonstrated the incredible power of the energy barrier.

"Fanzi, can you solve this? Otherwise, we'll be trapped here for the rest of our lives," Tian Jun asked, looking at the dark cave. Ye Fan surveyed the area around the light barrier before saying, "This is just an ordinary formation. As long as we destroy its foundation, the formation will naturally collapse. Let me handle this!" He channeled his Dao power into four streams, scanning the four corners of the cave for the formation foundation. After a moment, his eyes lit up, and four white gems appeared in his mind in the shape of an array. He had finally found them. With a surge of Dao power, he transformed them into a giant energy hammer and struck the white gems. Four muffled thuds were heard, and the multicolored light barrier vanished instantly. Fortunately, the two were prepared and not far from the ground, otherwise they would have been in a chaotic and embarrassing situation. Tian Jun quickly grabbed the chest pendant that was trying to escape again. He dared not let it continue to thrash around. Who knew what traps awaited them inside? If they were to accidentally lead them into some kind of predicament, they would be left helpless and regret it too late.
